I waited on ordering this figure because of it's lack of TF homage but in the end gave in because it's fansproject.

Crap on them? We knew steel core was a limited first release. I have him and I'm super stoked for this Overload homage.

Yup it's a **** move. I just figured they would just repaint it for the future but actually turning him from a non Transformers homage into a Transormers homage? Steelcore will probably be sold as soon as I get him.

So by that logic PE's Shadow Warriors and the two birds were **** releases too. I don't think you're thinking this one through man. They took an original character, sold it, and then turned it into a loose homage for those complaining about their originality.

What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that I can't be upset for them trying to make $$ or milk a mold. Because if I was, I'd be mad at Perfect Effect, Hasbro, and well, everybody.

Support them or don't... it's all the same, but to pitch a fit about **** moves when most of the Transformers line is based on repaints/retools is just silly. We see more **** moves from Hastak to the point that really you should be desensitized to it by now.

Regardless, we see more originality from 3rds these days in figure engineering then we have in a long time. If a group like FP wants to milk a mold a little in order to keep bringing us more originality later down the line I'm totally okay with that.

STEEL CORE "MAGNUM" UPGRADE CLARIFICATION

I wanted to clarify about the "upgrade" part shown for Steel Core.

First off, there is only one version of Steel Core, which is now shipping for preorders out to fans who ordered from FansprojectCore. There is no other version, and there will be no repaints. That is a fact that I can confirm.

Also, Steel Core was always intended to be an original character. He was never designed as a homage. If so, and it was to be Armada Overload/Energon Ultra Magnus, the mini guy would transform into a truck already.

The parts shown on Sunday are a mockup for an idea I had. Like the rest of you, I did see the similarities to Energon Ultra Magnus when Steel Core's colors were revealed. So when I got the toy in hand, I thought about making new parts to complete the unintended homage, by myself. I whipped up the mockup parts the day before I came out to TFCon. Fansproject did not even know about the parts until I showed them on Friday night.

Right now, FansprojectCore wants to release this as an exclusive through their website. One of my main reasons for making it was to test an upcoming feature on google.com with it. I'm mentioned before there are alot of features that have not been launched yet. My upgrade will be one of the first projects to take advantage of it, allowing for interaction from everyone else. I can't get into the specifics yet.

So in a nutshell, this upgrade is meant to be a kit for some future release, and Steel Core only has one version planned for life. No remold or repaint.

So... Steelcore is not getting rereleased so the total maximum number of the body for this Overload/E Magnus upgrade is less than that? So because I didn't get a Steelcore in a timely manner, this set is meaningless to me. F*ck-a-duck.

Not being an insider like some of you lucky fellows, just look at the initial offering for Steelcore.

"Please note that this is a special pre-order release available only to Fans Project Core and is limited to 800 pieces world-wide, so gain the prestige of being a first wave supporter of Steel Core and be 1 of 800 to do so on this exclusive release!"

Also:

"This Product is Now Sold Out.

Thanks to all the Members that supported this first release! We are working hard to secure future releases with the manufacturer, so for those that have missed out, we're listening and hope to bring you this great product in the future!"

I've always thought Steelcore would get another release, and it would be at a higher price than those able to take advantage of the first 800 pieces. The timing of this release is what's in question.

Seriously, how many FP products got a staggered re-release? Pretty much everything except for the Cliffjumper upgrade and the Shadow Scyther kit (because that was SUPPOSED to be limited).

To clear up this confusion about Steel Core's run. They made a big run, more than 800. I would say a couple thousand based on previous releases. Fans Project Core.com secured 800 pieces from that run, to sell early and directly to fans. That means from the original run for Steel Core, there is a lot more units sitting around in a warehouse, waiting to be released.

So in a nutshell, if you missed out, theres more SteelCores to be released either through retailers or Fans Project Core.com. Their probably just waiting for the preorders from FPCore.com to finish shipping out first. So just be patient and you'll get your chance to order it again if you missed out.
