No...I don't think that's the case.
Deathsaurus, Ironhide, Chromia, Flamewar, Fareup, and Ratchet are all highly sought after.
The 2005 set is really quite good in fact. It suffers in some regard because the 2006 and 2007 sets are goddamn amazing.
Well it is the case cause if they were as "highly sought after" as you presume they(FunPub) wouldn't still be sitting with a supply 3 years later. They would've been snatched up at the cons or the online store. Your entitled to like them but they are not sought after.
Tell ya what boss.
You look up the after-market values on the toys I mentioned and then tell me that they aren't sought after.
Deathsaurs goes for $100 easily. Ironhide is a $150 figure. Those two alone account for the cost of the set. Chromia sells for $50 easy everytime she appears online.
FlameWar and Flare-up are listed right now on eBay. Look at their prices at the moment. Note how this is several days before auction end. In the last hour, those two will top $100.
Rachet goes for $400.
The reason the sets specifically don't sell is because of the duds: Dirge, Buzzsaw, Riccochet, and the strongarm repaint. No one wants those. That makes it difficult to turn a worth while profit
overall on the set. Setting that aside, the figures I mentioned are still quite popular and desirable.
