It's not "byest", it's "biased".
And we are not G1 biased. You are Beast Wars biased.
Think about it. You want your favorite characters on the screen, despite the multitude of reasons why they just don't fit.
Animals, whether organic looking, or technorganic, would be weird for people. Scorponok in part 1 worked, and I can see a cat autobot along the same vein, but not as a major character, just for a fight scene. But I wouldn't call that action scene only Autobot cat Cheetor. I'd call him Steeljaw. However, that's not what you're asking. You want him as a main character, which wouldn't fly.
They've been done. Cheetor is the kid, which we have already in Bumblebee (unless the get him wrong, which his voice at the end sounded like they might). Rhinox is the tough guy who is also the doctor. Been done already with Ironhide and Ratchet.
A flying cat with jet turbines on his sides is not going to replace (as the Autobots' main air guy) Jetfire, or even Powerglide. Actual jets, that don't look silly in action.
And to top it all off, as if that wasn't enough, their names are silly. Cheetor sounds like Cheeto. Hell, I think of Chester Cheetah when I think of Cheetor. I cannot bring myself to take it seriously outside of BW, which was a cartoon. Rhinox is not silly per se, but compared to names from other series', G1, Armada, RiD, Energon, Cybertron, and even Animated with Bulkhead, Rhinox is dumb. Michael Bay wouldn't go for it in a million years. He refused to rename Devastator back to Brawl after the licensing confusion because he liked the name better. Now you think he's gonna go with Cheetor and Rhinox?
Face it. You're the one with the bias, not us. We look at a movie like this and say "what is reasonable to expect in terms of cool Michael Bay action, that the bone-head mass audience would take seriously for 2 hours?" Robot animals with blatantly cartoony names don't spring to mind. What springs to mind are heavy vehicles, sports cars, and jets. We gravitate to G1 names because they're tried and true. Why call the yellow kid robot Hot Shot when you can call him Bumblebee? Bumblebee reasonates with more people. Hot Shot would not. Therefore, we chose G1 over a more recent series. Not because we like G1 better, but because it makes more sense.
You can't have your favorites. Few people did, and I'd hate to be one of the millions of Jazz fans right now. My favorites are G1 Fort Max and G1 Scorponok. And I got my wish for Scorponok. Except, I actually didn't, because it wasn't cool Headmaster Scorponok a.k.a. Lord Zarak. And I wouldn't have expected them to do that either, and asking for it would have been pointless and dumb. And no Fort Max either. And I don't want him there. If they use the name, cool, but I don't expect in a million years to see him done right in these movies.
Face it. You're swimming against a title wave, even if the damn thing wasn't already written. Which it is. They've already scheduled shooting dates, which means they've already picked out locations, which means it's pretty much set in stone.
Signing this petition, even if it had a chance, would be like signing a petion today asking to take George Bush off the ballot for 2004.
