I've been trying to do that recently. Sadly, the pin on mine is really tight, and I haven't had much success.
Do you have a pin punch, N?
Sadly, no. Do you know where I could acquire one?
Also, make sure you’re pressing from the correct side!!
I'm pretty sure I am doing it from the right side, since I watched a
YouTube guide for doing it. I've been pushing on the same side that Opelouis (the guy that made the aforementioned YouTube video) did, but I haven't had much luck.
Alright N. Because I'm great, I took the pin out this morning in under 10 seconds!
First, I put the bot in plank mode so I could snap some pictures, here's the pin I'm removing.
This is his LEFT shoulder (from the robots perspective).
And here's his RIGHT shoulder.
Initial guess? The pin will come out of the the left shoulder, being pushed from the right shoulder. It's recessed deeper and there aren't any scuffs around the outside.
I guess I was right!
That's after two "pops" with the pin puncher. It's an automatic recoil type, which means when you press into the pin with so much force it does a quick retract and punch. It's really nice.
Here it is on the 'zon.So all I had to do was grab the knurled end with my pliers and voila!
Super easy to "undo" as well. Pretty neat though that I'll have both bots independent!
