Honestly, while Deathsaurus is my holy grail for collections, I think Overlord is the ultimate grail since he does fit thematically into a collection that can be complete without him, but is super complete with him

Agreed, I'd love a deathsaurus as well, though I'd settle for a Generations new mold (hint hint hasbro)

Even when we get a generations version, I still want the original. That toy is so badass

Time for some fun eh?

First off, the showcase of packages I got today, the 4 Cybertron guys together, the other parts from several packages

Image

And this allowed for the following bots to be completed:

Image

Image

Never would have thoughts I would have 3 complete G1 Combiners!
Image

We also had a Duocon family photo shoot. I have all the duocons ever made!
Image
Image
Image
Image

Some more bots completed from previous packages (there were more but not all ended up here!). Megatorn is only missing 1 antler now, and Lio still needs 5 missiles.
Image
Image

Image

Also completed my 3D Hogwarts Express puzzle!
Image

and with the Duocons and Powermasters completed, I needed to redo my G1 shelves. They have never looked better to me! I got the powermasters, Pretenders, Duocons, and Combiners all grouped up nicely on shelves together, they look so good! Jetfire is the only outcast, and he is with the MPs, but kinda fits in

Some great stuff there D-Max! ;)^ What's the story behind Tentakil hanging with the technobots? That's something I'd like to hear! :D

Thanks!

It's actually not just Tentakil, it's also First Aid as well.

And they are Burn's fault.

Back a year and a half ago, almost 2 years ago actually, I bought a bunch of stuff from Burn, and when they arrived, they also included a Tentakil and a First Aid, both pretty much stickerless with no accessories and a healthy coating of Aussie dust. I cleaned them both up, and decided that since I had 2 limbs that I should just get the remaining members to complete them.

I decided that both were a bit outside my price range then, but at my local collectors store, they funny enough had a fully complete Scattorshot, Afterburner, and Lightspeed. Since Scattorshot included all the hands and feet, I bought the set, combined them, and never looked back. I don't even have an interest in completing any of the teams by themselves, they just make a great G1 Betatron! It's fun! it is the scramble city aspect applied to G1 in a funny way (do you see that giant sea monster arm?!)

it's great. And Burn basically set it all in motion.

to go with it, now that Tentakil is complete, I want to find a 6th bot from a different team to replace him as an arm and allow him to form a gun mode for the combiner. It would be fun to have that option, and so if I want 1 limb member can take a break too to be an individual or a gun.

I like it too because from each scramble styled combiner line (save micromasters), I have a random combiner. G1 has Betatron, Energon has Energon Maximus, Powercore combiners has Crankcase, CW/PotP has Infernocus and Megascream. It feels right to have that sort of random combiner from the lines where that was encouraged

All Burns fault eh? Why am I not suprised  I once contemplated piecing together the G1 Seacons, none of the reissues ever made it to the UK.

I'll be more than content with the new set once I ship it out, but having a G1 Tentakil is great since that one is my favorite, and it's crazy and cool.

I need to take more pictures of him by himself, he deserves it

When I was a kid, tentakil was one of the surviving combiner limbs along with Blades, First Aid and Air Raid. Hot Spot stepped up to be the torso along with Superion's fists and feet. That combiner saw some fights, like going one on one with the first power rangers megazord, then helping it fight Goldar and another monster! :lol:Then my parents helped out a friend with a car boot sale and went through my toys... Sigh...

I'm so glad my parents won't go through my stuff (they said so) to sell. I have a few coworkers who lost UT era toys to parents yard sales like that and regret it

I'd still have had a Metroplex if they hadn't. I remember being amazed at discovering be had ports on his body that fit with combiner limbs. I think any future attempt at Metroplex should have that same capability ;)

Some more figures completed by a parts lot today

First up, G1 Sideswipe!

Image

Then we got Universe Overload, who finally has his gun and his key! Fully armed!

Image

2 older movie toys, both with some joy. Bumblebee's leg transformation is really fun, and looks a lot better with his shoulder cannons.

And then there is Recon Ironhide, who is probably the most badass Ironhide ever made of ANY Ironhide. I love this toy a ton

2 Packages arrived today, which save for 1 outstanding package I'm waiting for from Target, should be it robot wise for a bit. First one was a glorious 3-pack from Counterpunch, and the other was a small package with the smokestacks my Armada Bendy Prime needed! Bendy now just needs his minicon!

Image
Image

also, who's ready for some Claw modes! We got Primeclaw mode, and then Razorclaw mode!

Bendy is looking cool, love the head tilt.

Do you have the WfC Jazz version of that mold? It's oddly better executed.

He came like that, slight defect where his head will not straighten out. I like it, it's kinda a curious cute tilt.

I do, got it when it came out. I always wanted the Sideswipe one though too, I really liked FOC Sideswipe. I feel like I need cliffjumper to finish the trio from Chapters 4 and 5 of the game

Lately I've been wanting CJ as well. Do you have Bee? It's a divisive figure, but I love it and it's one of the figures that got me into the TF collecting game. I got lucky on Jazz and mine has the lighter blue visor with the awesome light piping. I wished they would have made all the characters from the games, or at least finished the insecticons and dinobots. I like the cybertron look, probably why I enjoyed the cybertron-lite vibe of siege. Great, now I'm going go try and see what I'm missing. :BANG_HEAD:

Most people bitch about its complexity, but people also bitch if things aren't complex enough, so take that as you will. I've never had a problem TFing it, even after long stretches of not.

I'd highly recommend it. It's super cool and very Bumblebee like. It is huge compared to the others, especially considering both Prime and Megatron are also deluxes.

I think I lack CJ and any form of the combiners. Can't say I'm jazzed about the combiner molds. Might consider the autobot team if they ever pop up for a reasonable price. I seem them on TFL all the time, but I can't seem to be able to pull the trigger. Speaking of TFL has two WfC CJs for a bit more than I'm willing to pay.

So which WfC/FoC Prime do you prefer? I'm torn, but generally prefer the first. I have two versions because of that OP set that came with Orion (redeco'd TR Kup mold and the reason why I bought the set). The WfC Prime has an arguably better deco than the original.

I think the OG has an OS KO in the wild somewhere. Good old linebacker Prime!

I like the simplicity of the FoC Prime mold, just a robot fist on wheels. The UM repaint comes with a cool sword that combines with his rifle.

But yes, definitely too small. I've dipped my toe into Planet X, well I will once my PoL arrives. I feel this is a very dangerous rabbit hole.

The mold has a really good amount of articulation as well. It's a fun figure ;)^ . Linebacker Prime is less fun by these standards. A little fiddly and was marked level 4 on difficulty, back when they were doing that. It's true, there are a lot of panels and such that needs to be moved around and lined up.

I've heard people say that they think that, like that Universe Galvatron, that Prime was meant to be a voyager but was shrunk and that's why he is so complex. Not that I mind complex, as my movie taste shows
