Unless i am completely wrong which is slim this film wont do half the biz that TDK did (1billion...aint happening) nor will it receive high reviews. most average biggies max out around 300 million if they can get past 150 million....which is tuff. I hated the 07 movie.... I hope this changes my attitude about the movie verse. please dont get all in a fuss and reply with heath ledgers death lol =P~

oh yeah.... My prediction is that Harry potter will be the biggest movie of the summer. Trotf 2

Didn't the first movie gross around 750 million world wide? I have a feeling that this movie will do just as good,if not better. And even if it doesn't, who cares? And while you may not want to here it, ya, Heath Ledger is is one of (if not thee reason) DK did as well as it did. His performance was awesome. Just pure awesome.
Its obvious that since you hated the 07' movie that your banking on ROTF doing poorly so you'll have reason to gloat. And while critics might not give it positive reviews, (they rarely ever give movie like this the time of day) fans have been giving good reviews. I have a feeling your wrong on this one.

Of course it won't. TDK was the exception, most movies, especially comic movies, don't do that well.

I won't get in a fuss, but I'm not going to stick my fingers in my ears and pretend Ledger's death didn't effect the movie. If Heath Ledger hadn't died, the Dark Knight wouldn't have been half as popular. This is the truth, whether you want to believe it or not.

Random thought is random. Will you only see ROTF if it outdoes TDK? Because this is just silly. It's not a contest.

And while we're on the subject, it'll obviously be hard to beat TDK. It was critically acclaimed and it had the goddamn Batman in it.

If Heath Ledger didn't die, The Dark knight would not have been so popular. It was the best Batman film out of all of them, but it would have been just a summer blockbuster with the same numbers as the first TF movie, if he had lived.

Look at Batman Begins. It was just as deep, just as dark, it had Liam Neeson and Ken Watanabe rather than Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart, Batman didn't sound like he smoked two cartons of cigarettes a day, and delivered a badass line to the villain before the villain died. But it didn't do nearly half the business the Dark Knight did. 750 mil the 1st movie (which I think was OK, 4 a Geewunner) is unheard of. Harry Sacks & Buttman will both be outdone by Bay's immature explosions & the Witwicky parents' witty dialogue. Ledger makes Jack's Joker look like a f'n child playin dressup. This will definately hit a Billie Worldwide. Anybody who can get permission to film on the Pyramid has major pull...

First of all, I am a rational guy, i don't piss on bays movies just to piss on them. the facts are is that tdk made a billion- to even bring up ledgers death is redundant the facts are a billion. :-x

And the point of this thread is what? Look we know u hate Bay you've made that perfectally clear, but we all know that TDK is probobly gonna have a higher gross income than ROTF but who cares? People will still go to see this movie and children will still buy the toys and so will collectors life goes on.

Either way, ROTF will be more enjoyable for me that TDK. The Dark Knight was basicly another "set-up" for the next Batman movie. Bottom line, TDK was not good enough to make me watch the next installment. Also, the fact that Heath Ledger died makes the next one that much more appealing.

How can a movie be pawned (future tense) by a movie that has already been released.

"The Magnificent Ambersons will pwn this movie!!!!"

I don't need this movie to be as good as TDK, I just hope I will enjoy it more than the first. It looked like I probably would from the trailers, but a lot of what I've heard about the film from early screenings makes me a lot more sceptical. Oh well, we'll see.
