Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

So ... Christmas Special has been and gone, as has Matt Smith.
Everything tied up in a nice little bow, except for the bow tie, The Doctor now has a new cycle of regenerations, a new set of kidneys, and apparently has forgotten how to fly the Tardis.
It was a good story, my one gripe would be The Silence went from wanting to stop The Doctor to suddenly being his ally.
Bring on Capaldi!

The episode as a whole left me empty. It started off great! Then right after he figured things out and knew what needed to be done, things ground to a halt.
The parts that focused on Clara being mopey were long and drawn out (as I suspected they were supposed to be) and the time focused on The Doctor was done with about as much care and attention of the hated flashback clip episodes of various series. By the time things started getting good, it was over.
That and the Regeneration sequence was drawn out for far too long.
It left everything wrapped up nicely, but I wish the wrapping paper was more colourful.

So the Silence thing was explained, with it being a splinter group that was out to kill him. Didn't catch that the first time round.
Has The Doctor now changed the future and he won't die at Trenzalore? Or will there be another battle there that seals his fate.
If he doesn't die there ... will his grave still end up there, if not, how does the Impossible Girl come about?

I hear nothing but bad reviews for the Xmas special. I don't have cable and haven't been able to watch it. Can anyone recommend a good spot to watch it so i can form my own opinion.
Or in fact watch lots of episodes come to think of it. I've been waaaaay out of the loop on my Dr. Who watching for the past year. Need to catch up before i watch the Xmas special.

OMG.. That was entertaining.. But as a huge RHPS fan it would have been better if they did the actual dance..
Also, I met McGann, Davidson, Baker and McCoy last weekend at Houston's Comicpalooza and they were stand up gentlemen. John Barrowman was hysterical and such a cool guy too.

There has been the first screening of the first Capaldi episode for a limited amount of fans in a London (as always) cinema this week. The reaction to the episode and Capaldi himself as the Doctor has been overwhelmingly positive.
Interestingly enough over here on the UK they're making the first episode of this series available to watch at the cinema, similar to what they did with the 50th anniversary which was completely awesome. I got to heckle Davros.
Anyway here's a spoiler free review of the episode:
http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/doctor-who/ ... ree-review
I'd be interested to hear what people make of this new Doctor.. I for one can't wait. I've been waiting for an old school Doctor since NewWho was launched and Capaldi seems to be the man to do it.

It's getting shown in cinemas around the world. Earliest screening in Australia is 10am, which will be about 6 hours after it airs in the UK. It's also getting simulcast in Australia so no need to download, no need to go to a cinema, no need to wait until 7:30pm ... just have to get up really early in the moring like I did with the 50th anniversary.

Can't wait either, I just hope it's as good as they say it is. With the full season run we'll only have a small gap between the last ep and the xmas special.

Some interesting names there. Favorite of the bunch is Mummy on the orient express or kill the moon. Though a series ender, death in heaven is good.

I may have watched a leaked work print of the premier a few days before it airs...all I'll tell you is that I love Capaldi, the first episode features the surprising return of an old enemy, Vashtra and Jenny are back (and still need a spin off show), and I can't wait to see it actually finished.

Totally agree with the spin off for those three.

It's currently on in my cinema, but far, far too expensive and booked out for me to even try.
I'll just have to wait and stream it tomorrow. So very exited for this new season, and especially for the Peter Jackson Dalek episode(s?).

Now I really did enjoy that. Peter did a great job as the new doctor. I'm looking forward to where this storyline goes.

I think he's going to do a great job.
Missy = The Rani?
Or will it be something incredibly stupid like Missy = The Master and we set up the whole gender changing Time Lord so they have a reason to make The Doctor female?
Quite enjoyed the little "easter eggs", Vastra's "Well then, here we go again" was a nod to The Brigadiers line uttered 40 years ago when Jon Pertwee regenerated into Tom Baker.
Capaldi talking about his long scarf ...
Clara's "You’ve redecorated – I don’t like it!" which has been used a few times over the last 50 years.
Quite enjoyed the chemistry between Jenny and Vastra, Jenny seems to be standing up for herself more. Those three really need their own spin-off series.
Loved the connection to Madame Pompadour, The Girl in the Fireplace is one of my favourite episodes in the new series.
So the question remains ... was the Clockwork Man pushed or did he jump?
