The Greatest Transformers Scene Ever...

Postby TechnoSeeds » Sun Aug 16, 2009 6:02 pm

Hair Metal starts playing, a neon sea full of robotic sea life, robot piranhas swimming underwater devouring everything, Hot Rod caught up in some plant and they start to attack him, he slices through it transforms and drives over to free Kup, but is attacked by a huge robotic octupus and has to slice it and blast it off, and then he emerges from the neon sea.

Doesn't get any better than that, and it's a great song if you like Hair Metal like I do.

I approve of this thread...

I've got to say this is one of my favorite scenes from the '86 movie. I love the song and the scene was great....among the greatest.

"Nothing's Gonna Stand in Our Way", Spectre General/Kick Axe. That song rocks. :APPLAUSE:

Not the greatest TF scene ever, but yeah, the song kicked ass. Probably the best song on the soundtrack. Yes, including The Touch and Transformers.

It's in the same vein as what you've all said, but it's a close battle for me...

1. The scene in the 1986 movie where Starscream & Megatron blow away Prowl, Brawn, Ironhide and Ratchet. I think that scene changed my life. We went from TFs barely getting damaged to getting blasted point-blank in the face!

2. The scene where Megatron is reborn into Galvatron. The animation combined with the killer synth just does it for me. For me, it was the turning point from the original TF to the next "generation".

Ooooh, I'm getting chills just thinking about those scenes! Whatta nerd! I love it!

maybe not the greatest, but definitely one of the most artistic and bad-ass. It's just a really feel-good scene with excellent art and music. If you have another scene that you think is better, I would respect your opinion (as long as it's generation 1 or the movie of course!).

One of my favorite Transformers scenes is in G1 season 2 in the episode "Atlantis, Arise!" where Megatron walks up to the Lincoln Monument, picks Lincoln off of his throne like it were nothing, sets it aside, then sits in the throne

For one thing, the Lincoln monument is one big statue, not two separate pieces. Oh, how little the writers of Transformers knew about our American historical monuments.

I'm more of a Starscream fan anyway, but I'd forgotten about this scene until just the other day. :P

To me the greatest scene in the 86 movie starts with Optimus Prime saying "Megatron must be stopped...no matter the cost." Transforms and rolls towards Autobot City to "The Touch" and kicks total ass!

Another great scene to me (although I'm not sure why) is at the end of "The Ultimate Doom" when the Dr. Archevil is hanging on after the tidal wave calling out for Megatron and Starscream's hand reaches out from the ocean below, grabs him and Starscream says "Megatron is through with you, but I am not."

Another one of the greatest scenes comes from Beast Wars The Agenda Part 3 which is basically the last scene in which Megatron is in the time storm and tells the Maximals "The Autobots lose. Evil triumphs. And you...you no longer exist!"

This was such a good cliffhanger I equate it to another non-TF cliffhanger that goes

"I am Locutus of Borg. Your life as it has been is now over. From this time forward you will service us."
"Mr. Worf, fire."

To be continued...

How about the Beast Wars episode "Code of Hero" featuring Dinobot's final moments: his last battle, his death, and his funeral.

It was all just so epic.

Another one would be in the Cybertron episode "Retreat" where, after Evac was bring the Earth Cyber Planet Key, Starscream alone fought his way through every single Autobot to try to take the Key and the Omega Lock for himself.

I loved the scene in the 86 movie when Megatron is standing on the Autobot ship after blasting all of the Autobots on board. While he is divulging his plan Ironhide reaches up and Megs shoots him point-blank. Cold blooded. I love it.

My favorite scene is it Revenge Of The Fallen.

Optimus is cornered by Megatron, Starscream, & Grindor in a forest. Sam is hiding in the shrubs, and Megs and Screamer are totally kicking his ass, and he lands hard and spits out a tooth. Then he says the most epic line ever!... "I'll take you all on!" Out comes the enego swords! He cuts grindors tail rotors off, and they slice into megatron, he then cuts off Screamer's arm, and slices megatron GOOD! Then, he RIPS GRINDOR'S HEAD IN HALF!!!! Then he gets stabbed in the chest and blown open, but that's not the point. SO SLAGGING SWEEET!

I hated the 86 film with a fury of a 1000 burning stars, so that automatically anything in that doesn't get my vote.(I think its meh now days but you'll never hear me say I like it.) It's music is pure cheese, which if you didn't grow up in the 80s, its pure fail. I happen like most 80s music, but it does not age well. From it killing a bunch of my favorite characters to replacing them with alot of duds(for a lame story fueled purely by greed I think truly deserves the fans scorn.), it always left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't a fan of all post movie episodes for same reason. Prime and Megatron being killed and replaced by cheap knock offs its fairly symbolic for series as a whole post movie.

For me greatest transformers scenes will be dinobot in code of hero, one of the most amazing episodes of any series of transformers.

In tight contention is the forest battle in Revenge of the fallen. I was ok with both these deaths cause they felt much more necesary. It wasn't solely for shock value, or some idiot screwing up. Was being a hero, and dying cause you put your life behind the mission.

On side note, the Abe Lincoln Scene is referred in the 2007 movie game, if you play thru as decepticons, Megatron is sitting on it as his throne for the ending.
"The question that once haunted my being has been answered. The future is not fixed, and my choices are my own. And yet, how ironic...for I now find that I have no choice at all! I am a warrior...let the battle be joined." —Dinobot

As a fan of spiffy prose, I have to say, Lastjustice, I bow before this sentence in awe. I may even have to steal this one.

As a fangirl currently on a case of the weepies (seriously, I cried at a car commercial this morning--and people leave me alone with *their young?!?!*) I'm going to have to say that scene in Armada where Starscream gets hisseff blow'd up good by Unicron to prove a point to Megatron. If only Alexis hadn't smarmed that scene up with her icky pedo/xenophilia, perfection would have been reached.

Or, I gotta say, I do still drop everything and stare, droolingly, at the 07 film when Blackout first hits the base in Qatar. Ah wanton destruction (*and* a helicopter!)...how do I love thee?

Having just re-watched Animated recently I got say one scene that comes to mind as really awesome. It was the climax of Human Error part 2, the second story featuring Soundwave. When Prime catches Lazerbeak actually forces him to transform into a guitar (that's got hurt) and has a rock off with Soundwave then finishes it with the customary smashing of the ax that was just pure fun on a stick!

Another scene that I always remember is from G1 form the episode 'The Girl Who Loved Powerglid'. It's the scene of Powerglide riding on merry-go-round with Astoria. The aspect proportion ratio were so awfully twisted but it was such great visual I didn't care. Also the equally memorable is the scene of the Decepticons trying to use the 'psycho-probe' on Astoria only discover that her mind was 'empty'. Megs was just so funny in that! (On side note my hubby and I are talking about doing a duo costume for Botcon or Dragon Con. Him as Powerglide and me as Astoria. Just because I think people would get kick out of it.)

Those few that come to mind for me.

Re: The Greatest Transformers Scene Ever...

My favorite was already mentioned. I was about 12 years old when I watched the decepticons take the ship headed for Earth in Transformers The Movie. So much carnage that happened so quickly really threw me for a loop. I still remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach watching in horror as smoke poured out of Prowl's mouth as he went down. At the same time I thought the way they played it to Instruments of Destruction made it very cool.

Another two of my favorite scenes are actually from the same episode. Megatron's Master Plan part 2. Now just stick with me on this. In the original series I never really felt worried because I just knew somehow the Autobots would come back and win. So when I mention these scenes now I try to remake them in a Michael Bay sort of way.

When the Decepticons finally reveal their plans on Earth, they start attacking the city. Ramjet tears through a building before transforming at shooting up the streets.....Thrust dives down the side of a building shattering all the glass as he passes. Dirge transforms right in the middle of all the confusion and starts shooting up the place. Pretty chaotic.

The second scene was when the humans decide to launch a counter attack by air. Even though they got thier @$$e$ handed to them, I thought it was cool how they showed one of the pilots faces as he squinted, in prepe
preparation of the battle.

By all means these aren't the greatest scenes of all time, but I stll thought they were pretty cool.

Thanks for reading.

Feel free use it, as I'm sure I stole the line from something else as I am in no way the originator.

As for the bad guys, Black out was awesome, as he's the definative character for that name now. Animated even reference his movie incarnation. He was by far the coolest new decepticon from the movie. I prefer his name to his clone's grindor as I almost loathe referring to him as such. I often find myself saying blackout out of reflex. he's a blast to play as in the games too as his melee weapon is just some cool hehe. They definitely need another killer helicopter in transformers 3.
