The Map (revisited)

Postby Omega Sentinel » Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:21 am

Since there are alot of newbies and alot of other exciting things have been developed lately, I thought I would repost the link to your Cybertron Tactical Console:
http://www.seibertron.com/heavymetalwar/WarMap.php

Once this map is online we will have rolled out enough to officially be in HMW2. At that time there will also be new tactics, alts, weapons, the 2 new factions and the engine behind this map. The reset will occur at that time.

Each faction will start out in the following territories. Any new characters that are created by yourself or noobs later in the game will have to be deployed to a friendly or neutral territory of your choice.

Autobots = Iacon
Maximals = Cybertropolis
Decepticons = Polyhex
Predacons = Kaon

Depends on which resource you are looking at. Everything I researched online and in some of the comics called it Antihex.
Maybe it is Altihex in your Decepticon Dialect :P

The point about nova cronium interests me, what's with the stats there?

What, no Ineptibot jungle gym??? :P

So should the part in the v2 FAQ dealing with the release date be updated?

Maybe I should start concentrating on what works and what doesn't in the game now, but I'm still too blasted busy to do anything more than just stick my bots out like sore thumbs.

Funny you should ask.

Each territory has a certain amount of points. The more valuable ones have more. Every campaign your faction wins or loses gives or takes a point away. The faction or alliance that holds 80% of the points owns that territory and receives the perks from it.

While no faction holds a territory, no one can acquire that territory's minicons, energon or do anything to fortify the territory. (yes there will be fortifications for those of you that can afford it).

So Maximals has the best starting territory I see with a 120. Is there a reason for this not that I'm complaining since I'm going Maximal :P or are those numbers just examples for now?

According to canon the Maximals are the ruling faction on Cybertron during this time. Their capitol is the largest and most established capitol.

So in other words we hold the biggest target(edit-well biggest homebase just notice one with 200). Playing a few strategy games I know theres two types of mindsets with those targets one some won't aim for it as much since it take more effort to take over. The other be the challenge seekers who probably work together more often to bring down the biggest territory.

Also if Maximals lose their home territory first its really going to leave a bad impression of our strategy and combat skills. :lol:

Has Polyhex been chosen for the 'cons due to the naming of 'Darkmount'?

I thought we would be getting Kaon.

Hmm... the Cybertronan atlas website that said it was Altihex no longer exists... this does not bode well for my position. :sad:

The Decepticons are really more of the underworld type organization trying to re-establish their Empire. Technically the Tripredacus Council of the Predacons are the group formally recognized by the Maximal government.

Therefore the Decepticons will start from their ancient fortress of Darkmount while the Tripredacus Council inhabits Kaon.

I take it adjacency has nothing to do with what territories can be attacked? If it does, the Preds have an enormous advantage in taking territory (which they obviously need as they are the smallest faction and are completely incompetent :P ).

Even if it doesn't, people are still more likely to attack adjacent areas to make a recognizable territory, which means the Preds are going to be sitting in a corner amassing territory while the Bots, Maxis and Deceptigoons will be slugging it out for all the same territories - with the Maximals being in a very tenuous position as a small faction being trapped between the two largest.

I think things may work a bit better if you moved the capitols to the four corners rather than piling three factions on top of each other with the fourth in a corner.

Is it a good ideal to put the Bots and Maximals home terriatory that close together? I mean are the good guys and ladys of both team going to start off with a peace accord?, or do we start off ripping the wires out of each other? Cause I really would like to have some peace time with them.
Maximals are friends. :BLUSH:
Preds are going to be ROADKILL! :grin:
The Cons are going to be scrap heaps/spareparts! :lol:

EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Actually, the location of the Pred's worries me, they've got all that nearby empty space to conquer while us other three factions will be killing each other attempting the same thing!

Yeah but theres only five of them, it'll take a long time for them to take all that territory and when they do there won't be enough of them to defend it all. :lol:

Is there going to be anything unique on the other hemisphere of the planet or do all the territories we see wrap around sufficiently to cover the side of Cybertron that isn't visible?

Ahhhh....It is that sweet time to start strategizing.

Who will your faction make an alliance with? Where will you deploy bots to occupy/defend? How can we make capitol locations work to our advantage? Who is friend or foe?

When war breaks out on Cybertron it will be a REAL war where tough questions will need answers and sacrifices will have to be made. Heros will emerge and cowards will fall but in the end you will see that HMW2 will be a completely different game than what you are used to.
