By the end of season 2, they had already used up all of their planned story material. They brought the Predacon in because they needed something new to help carry the story out to the intended 65th episode. The beast theme was a late decision tacked out as an afterthought. Like, take away Shockwave's Project: Predacon stuff and Predaking and there's really not that much meat to this season at all.chaosmage42 wrote:i don't think so -its not a full season for one and second the ending is rushed -i have no doubts this was the planned ending but i think it was accelerated other wise why bring in the predacon at all -it makes more sense that it was cut off after the 7th or so episode around the time that thirst was being written

At SDCC, they said that, whenever they make a show, they always plan for three seasons as their maximum goal. What they weren't sure of is if they were or weren't going to get a fourth season, so they hadn't planned that far ahead yet. "Predacons Rising" came about as more of an afterthought than anything. That Bot wrote:Pretty sure they stated they didn't plan on this season being the series finale, but they were told that it would be cut short in time to wrap up all loose ends without rushing it. Whether they succeeded in that endeavor is up for debate.
Well, most series-- That was always the plan going in, more or less. Most TV series, once they hit 65 episodes, they don't need to make anymore in order to make money. They can syndicate them overseas. It's not as big a deal here now, it used to be here, you know, you want your 65 episodes and once you hit 65, you can keep going, but for the company, for a while, the company was like, "You know what, we could keep spending more money making additional episodes or we can just stop and syndicate these and make something new." And, so we went in at the very beginning hoping to get to 65, and it was never a guarantee, but it's rare or it's unusual for a lot of shows to really go beyond 65.
We came into it knowing how we wanted to end the series, so... we weren't rushed into anything, and we're very happy, and, the way it's proceeding-- We're very happy with season 3.

Avensis-Mahiya wrote:Personally I think that 'Deadlock' should have been in three parts, since I felt that it was kind of rushed.
Also, Starscream being loyal kind of defeats the purpose of the character for me.
