To be fair, Megatron already knew the trust was gone. Between Starscream and Orion's resultant snooping, Megatron knew Orion wasn't on his side anymore. All he could hope to do was hold him at gunpoint and hope he doesn't grow the 'nads to fight back.

Sabrblade wrote:There are Scraplets on Cybertron.

Can I still pretend they aren't on Cybertron because of how improbably that is? They tore through an Insecticon in a few seconds, but only caused superficial damage to the rest of the area? Just seems weird to me still.

I remember thinking, just before he did it "he should get the Scraplets to eat that Insecticon." And then he did it and it was awesome.

Foxbear wrote:That dawning moment of comprehension, when Megatron realized that it was Jack and not Arcee who carried the matrix. This does NOT bode well for Jack. He has all ready earned a place on the King Con's list. Bringing back his ultimate enemy probably bumped him up several slots.

The look on his face was priceless. I really love how emotive the bots can get in this series.

I'm really hoping that Insecticon gets a figure and some chance of returning(Recolor and Rename) because it was awesome.

But I'm just agree with the majority here and say I wanted abit more from that predictable ending. I keep thinking that since Soundwave is technically Megatron's right hand man,why isn't he fighting alongside with Megatron at the end. If he did he could of dispatched laserbeak to distract Bee and Bulk,And soundwave could take on Ratchet with his barehands, thus leaving Megatron open to counter any other attacks and to stop Jack & Arcee once they returned. Oh well there's my two cents >:oP

Stillllll holding out to see how Grimlock iis portrayed and the Moment Soundwave says something original

Megatron literally had the perfect OH **** face when he realized Arcee didn't have the key. Also I found it funny that Optimus blind firing still beats out two Vehicons with guns pointed directly at his head.

As for the ending, I seriously couldn't care less that Optimus is good ol' Optimus again, and it was fantastic in general. Why? Ratchet FINALLY GOT TO GOD DAMN FIGHT AGAIN. That is all. (I know he's the medic but I enjoy it when the more supporting characters get to fight, and also I adore Ratchet in this series)

Okay, I can't help it anymore. The scientist has to come out >:oP . This is actually on of the better scientific aspects of the series in my humble opinion. The scraplets on earth were what we call in the National Park Service an invasive species.
Ever hear of Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica)? It is a beautiful plant that was brought to North America from Eurasia and is taking over and destroying entire river ecosystems. It is an invasive species. In it's native environment there are predators to keep it in check, environmental conditions that control it's spread, and slimier species that compete with it.Here in NA? None of that, and scrapplets got nothing on this bad plant. So back in Eurasia it forms nice cute little plants. Here it forms huge growths that are near impossible to kill. We call it the monster plant.
The scraplets have all the hallmarks of an invasive species, the are small, omnivorous, and from their numbers I assume they reproduce quickly. On Cybertron, their home world, they probably have predators of some sort. The crazy environment probably keeps them somewhat in check, acid rain anyone? And it looks like there were some parts of the walls, they couldn't/wouldn't eat, maybe carbon reinforced?
So yeah, it makes perfect sense to this biologist that they didn't devour Cybertron to nothing.

Yeah, and besides, when we first see the Scraplets, they're not eating. They're just chilling around minding their own business until they see Jack moving. They don't have to be constantly eating 24/7. They probably get full every now and then, or even sleep from time to time. Plus, the amount of Scraplets we saw in that horde were a much smaller amount than the ungodly amount that the Autobot's Earth base got infested with.

Well, since the transformers know about the scraplets, and were able to even seal them away in a ship, doesn't it stand to reason that they would re-inforce their planet with anti-scraplet measures? Build their structures from materials the scraplets wont eat? I'm guessing they had active defensive measures in play, but they were deactivated during the war, so the scraplets returned. Under the right circumstances, they can even be used as a controllable weapon, as Jack so obviously demonstrated.

The ships, in fact, were traps. It's not like they put them in a ragity bag and threw them in the pod. And, they could also turn this guy's weapon.

A really liked this starting miniseries, I liked it better than Darkness Rising anyways. Although it seemed a bit rushed near the end. I also want Soundwave to do more things. It's been shown he kicks serious ass, but maybe he doesn't like to get his hands dirty. Looks like Starscream will be doing more rouge stuff in this season. I like that. I can't wait for Operation Bumblebee. I just wanted to post My Tow cents, since I've been absent from the boards for a while.

While I enjoyed the episode, I think it felt rushed. I would've liked seeing Jack and Arcee exploring Cybertron more, I would've enjoyed seeing Orion making his way to the Decepticon's ground bridge re-learning how to fight along the way. Oddly enough I would've liked to have seen more between Fowler and June; they get so little screen time together it would've been interesting to see how they played off one another.

I would've liked to have seen this series in 4 parts, rather than 3.

Still no real complaints aside; it was a fun episode.

As for Prime getting his memories back instantly, I have 2 theories. The first is that when he gave Jack the key, he configured it with his additional memories to not only refill the matrix with all that he's gained as a Prime, but also to update Vector Sigma. The key then downloaded/uploaded data.

My other theory, which is less likely, is that the Key rebuilt the Matrix with Jack's memories or Optimus and not Optimus's own.

Whew! Several things about this episode and opening arc:

1. I'm very irked that all the autobots throw down with Megatron, seem like they're totally wasted by him, then go home without a scratch. In Darkness Rising, it was cool because you saw cliffjumper die, and when Ratchet was ganged by terrorcons you thought maybe he's at risk. When Arcee got blasted at the end, you thought maybe she might not make it. At least Ratchet had a cast! At least in Stronger Faster he had some battle damage! This felt like G1 or GI Joe. Lots a bodies, no prob, we just needed our "Forced Stasis Naps". Same goes for Arcee getting pounded by the insecticon. After a quick nap, we're A-OK!

2. I think I like how they are handling the robot's guns, they all have "energon blasters" - which makes sense since they are all circulating energon inside. And, it seems like energon blasts are just a notch above annoying unless the hit is very accurate. Which I'm OK with - they are all armored, right? So, this means more hand to hand combat, and explains why when Megatron is about to finish someone, he doesn't point his fusion cannon at them (tho he did this to starscream, didn't he), he points his blade at them.

3. Soundwave - I noticed on his toy stat card that Courage is at a 4! So, this might explain why Orion Pax/Optimus strolls on through the ship and through the ground bridge without He Who Sees Everything interfering - no doubt Soundwave knew, but he's not gonna tangle with Optimus if he can help it. This is why he doesn't join Megatron along for many fights and buttkickings - even if he can kick butt when he wants, he's going to be selective about it. Which makes his interactions with Megatron and the decepticons all the more interesting.

4. Plot holes - this show is full of mundane plot devices ("it was hidden on earth!") and convenient plot holes, but its characters, designs, and action tend to make me a forgiving viewer. One who, in fact, even posts messages trying to explain away some of these holes!

Hmm, everything undone and reverted into the status quo at the very end. And new villain guy is just a straight-up recolor, no change of proportions or head like BW Cheetor and Tigatron or Tarantulas and Blackarachnia.

Season 2 is just going swimmingly...

So, Dreadwing aside, What do you think M.E.C.H has in store for our little yellow R2D2? You think that we'll finally hear him talk? like in a flashback? It'd be cool if M.E.C.H was able to see his memories using a salvaged cortical patch, or they made one from stolen blueprints with the help of Starscream, or made a sort of machine that lets them interface with a Cybertronian's brain with info taken from Operation Breakdown. so many possibilities...

What I hope for the most, however, is for Ratchet to get into why Bee's vocal processor is damaged the way it is to the kids and everyone else, que flashback, BOOM. Instant emotional tension

Another thing Id'e like to see is more backround on the wreckers from Wheeljack when he comes back, basically a flashback on how everything went the way it did, and how Bulkhead met Prime and the others.

What if Dreadwing wants revenge for what the wreckers did? Good time to pull in jackie, everything fits, Sierra finds out, Wheeljack stays, we now have another autobot

I'm wondering if Starscream still has the Dark Energon shard he used in Shadowzone. The problem with MECH creating their own Cybertronian is that they don't have a life-force for it, but with the help of Starscream they could use a small shard of Dark Energon (Animated-style) to make MECH's creation alive. The only problem with this is that it would be just a mindless monster and not easy to control.

If they're gonna make Bumblebee talk (whether it's flashback or not), I think it's gonna happen in Part 2. Ratchet would try to help Bumblebee to get his transformation back but would fail because he doesn't have proper equipment or parts to do so which would lead to the story where Ratchet had failed before to help Bumblebee in a very similar situation. It would be very emotional, plus we'd get to see more of Cybertron during the war. :D

At this point I wish they'd just give Bee his voice back. I know they're kinda using it because kids are used to the movie version and his beeps and whistles, but I think it's time. I'm sure they wont but it'd be nice.

Two episodes focusing on Bumblebee =/= "compelling character arc" for Dreadwing.

Besides, they've crammed so much into these two episodes that, if they were to kill off Dreadwing, they'd be better off not even using him at all.
