Optimus has a way of not staying dead however.
Seriously, name a continuity in which he didn't die. I think RiD would be the only one, and he very nearly died at the end, saved only by some last minute, off-camera deus ex machina.
This show is different, though. Death is never sugar-coated nor reversible in this show, and both it and its creators have been adamant about that point. No character who has died in this show has ever undone their death.RAcast wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Who sAYS Optimus is even dead? I sure wasn't convinced by that ending. They managed to bring Orion back in the current IDWverse (and Megatron), I'd like him to disappear here.
In the final episode of Animated, Starscream died for good.Archanubis wrote:Va'al wrote:I'd like him to be dead, or non-operational in some way.

There are three characters in Transformers that you can rely on never staying dead: Anyone named Optimus, Megatron, and Starscream.

That was a deleted storyboard scene from the same episode he dies in.Archanubis wrote:I thought I read somewhere that Slipstream would have used a piece of her Allspark crystal to revive Starscream had a fourth season occurred.

Honestly, I haven't read this. I just read up on what happens through TFWiki.
So, Blast Off got blasted in the kidney. I saw that in the five-page-preview. No more Bruticus, if he's dead.
Did Sludge just die again?
Ser-Ket. That's the name of the shiny Predacon on the cover of issue #3.
He looks awesome. His name is not. The only good names in the team of Predacons are the ones that have already been used.
Backbite. Will he have a bigger role than his G1 counterpart?
Ultra Magnus? Captured!? I hope Circuit Ser-Ket doesn't ruin the chances of Magnus being in season 3...in his PRiD body.
"Re-forged." I've devised that this means they're going to reformat Autobots into Predacons.
Interesting storyline. I'll need to pick this up later on down the road, but at least I know what happens in a nut-shell.

Now his name doesn't make sense. What is he supposed to be?!

I retain the stance that despite being called "Predacons" they're going to stick more to the likes of the Terrorcons, Horrorcons, Monsterbots, etc. At least for now; which means everything is going to be either a mythical creature (draconic and scaly or griffin/chimera-y like Lazerback) or inhuman and horrific.

Though, it should be noted that, among the G1 Predacons, the altmodes of Headstrong and Tantrum don't really fit with the group's name since neither rhinoceroses nor bovines are predatorial.
That Bot wrote:Then I'd say they fit the idea of "predacons" better than the original Predacons, being mythical predators and what have you.
