It makes for a plot device for next week's episode as seen in the extended preview shown during TMNT II. Megatron plans to rebuild the Omega Lock.

By the all spark I wanna see that extended promo now, I hope someone decides to upload it soon.

At least it didn't take long for Magnus to get a replacement part for his hand.

Episode 61 -

Lots and lots of unexpected twists and turns, such as Predaking only remembering his life as a clone and going all "Am I a real boy?" on the Cons, Shockwave not even knowing about Predaking's ability to transform, Megatron deciding it would be better to nerf the Preds than to gamble on their loyalty, Magnus feeling uncertain about his popularity with Team Prime, him and Wheeljack somewhat coming to terms with one another, Predaking being a rather sympathetic character, and the Synthetic Energon mixing with the CNA to make Cybermatter at the end. A very cool episode, indeed.

And, next week... um... more fighting, I guess?

I believe the Predacons are still alive, Shockwave couldn't find any beast remains, then there is the primal Cybertron jungle thing growing in the lab.

They might not show up this season, but might be kept for the next installment in Aligned, to better tie the shows together.

And man, I feel damned sorry for Predaking, I like how in the beginning he sounded so heroic, friendly and somewhat torchered, and then towards the end had this super angry voice.

That's not surprising, that's expected. He's a clone, a copy of another being, not a time-displaced version of that being. As a new organism he does not recall anything from his original version's life.

Well, I mean, like, I didn't expect him to acknowledge that he only has memories of his life as a clone, as a more predictable take would have been his remembering his past life triggering his reason to transform and declare his independence. Instead, we get something more original with him just deciding to transform simply because "he wanted to" with little reason beyond that. Sort of like a "Now that I know who I am, I reveal myself and no longer serve you," type thing, which they surprisingly avoided by making him both not remember and still continue to serve.

This episode is awesome! New Predaking is tuly one of the best things ever happened to Transformers. I really like this fight scene, much better than any fight in Bayformers. Also it is nice to see Autobot injured in battle.

I wonder is there a chance that some Predacons survived, since series finale supossed to be about Predaking, it is possible.

Maybe authors simply decided to delay this moment a little?

I think he was lying like a pro about not remembering his past life, remember when he found that Predacon eye? He totally had a flashback when he saw that.
I think that was him simply trying to lul Megatron into trusting him enough to continue working on the ressurection of his kind and giving him command over them.

I think the moment the Predacons would have regained consciousness of who they are, they would have gone rogue.

One more thing on why I believe they survived, Predacons have been shown to be tough, Predaking has survived worse than that grenade, sure he might be the most powerful one, but still.

The 4-eyed, beaked thing looks very much like Grimwing's weapon/accessory. In fact, in the instructions where they have the story, it states that Grimwing and his weapon are two separate entities. The weapon has a name (which I can't remember off hand) and it's alive, just like he is. Why the packaging doesn't state this, I don't know, but I think that's what's in the first picture.

I think the moment the Predacons would have regained consciousness of who they are, they would have gone rogue.
But the question remains, why Predaking decide to reveal his true identitity right now? Could he reveal the truth whe'n hes brethren are already active?

Maybe Starscream unwilignly provoke Predaking to transform, and so he reveal how big threat predacons are?

One more thing on why I believe they survived, Predacons have been shown to be tough, Predaking has survived worse than that grenade, sure he might be the most powerful one, but still.[/quote] My wild quess is so much new characters would be to much for series budget, and they decide to wait until grand finaly.

I think that a few survived because Predaking when he was fairly young (In prey when he was on his first hunt) took a whole energon mine exploding and it hardly showed him down so these preds can take a few boxes of Synth-en exploding. I know about the Budget I'm guessing they will show up in Predacons Rising when maybe a character or 2 has died, thye will show 2 new preds and maybe if we are lucky we might even get a cannon fodder type pred :D

Maybe the cybermatter will act as a sort of cocoon that the believed-to-be-dead Preds will continue to grow and mature inside of until their awakening in the epilogue movie. ;)

Finally had a chance to watch this, BotCon was awesome. That was just a stupendous episode, the fight scenes were truly epic in thier ferocity! Who would imagine that Predaking could move with such celerity, Magnus and Wheeljack were made to look like Vehicons.

That seems to be the most logical explanation to their survival I mean other then being quite resilient.
