Me too A loved Animated Starscream, but they turned him from a ruthless immortal to... an even whinier G1 Starscream.

Though, Animated Starscream has shown his ego to be a bit bigger, whereas Prime Starscream has kept that side of himself toned down a bit more.Shadowman wrote:SlyTF1 wrote:DJ1107 wrote:Sadly it is. I don't know something about this Starscream rubs me the wrong way.

The only difference between Animated and Prime Starscream is immortality. Well, design and voice as well, obviously. Both of them are shown scheming behind Megatron's back, and only pulling power plays when he's either not looking, or when his inevitable retaliation doesn't concern them. Actually, throw G1 Starscream on that pile as well.

I'm not impressed.
I liked Animated better.
Which episode did you start with? And which one are you moving onto after that? Because it probably gets better.
The first one I saw was "Con Job" where they meet Wheeljack, and the second one I saw was "Convoy" where the Autobots and Fowler were being chased by MECH.
I dunno. I want to like Armada Starscream, but there was just something about him that rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it was his voice. I mean, I find it difficult to hear the typical Starscream voice (or as best an imitation of it as Michael Dobson could do) being used for a Starscream who wanted to legitimately switch sides. No matter how I look at it, that voice just says "bad guy" to me.Shadowman wrote:True. Still, I think we can all agree the best Starscream was Armada Starscream. Mostly because he was so far from traditional Starscream that he ended up being much closer to BW Dinobot. And I'm okay with that.
What about YouTube?OptiMagnus wrote:Uh...because I catch it when they show random reruns at 1:30 a.m.
Although, "Darkness Rising Part 1" is available free on iTunes...maybe I'll watch it on vacation this weekend. I'm just not ready to buy the whole season when I've barely seen anything yet.

True. It does sound less villainous in Armada, but it still kinda has that "evil scheming minion" feel to it.Shadowman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I dunno. I dunno, I remember his voice sounding like a less villainous version of his voice in Prime.

Duh! That's how I watched Animated. Can't believe I never thought of that.

If he is the character from Exodus,War for Cybertron, that means he has a backstory.
He just need a episode focusing on him.
Everyone have a backstory.
Maybe saving it for a special occasion? Wouldn't you save the character with the most important backstory for a special occasion? That, and if and when they deal with it, they're probably going to have to finally reconcile Prime with WfC.
Actually, come to think of it, it would be pretty awesome to see flashbacks with WfC's designs and style.

To be fair, I never thought of that. On the other hand, any time I miss an episode, I have it on DVR. or it'll rerun fairly soon.

Not only would it be awesome, but it would make sense and be very smart for them to do that, since it was their WFC bodies that these characters all had in the Exodus novel as well.Shadowman wrote:Actually, come to think of it, it would be pretty awesome to see flashbacks with WfC's designs and style.
I recall them repeating that claim last month at BotCon as well. And yet, this show still has yet to do just that. Maybe season 2 is where it'll get into that.Dead Metal wrote:Sorry to bring this back up since it's a pretty old post, but I seem to remember Hasbro stating that Transformers Prime was all about what it meant to be a Prime and the leader of the Autobots. But then again, that is old now and hasn't been repeated since the fist promos of the show where released.

And what's all this crap about Optimus not killing Decepticons? Damnit, Prime Optimus! This is why I like movie Optimus. He cuts the crap and goes sraight for killing everyone! Prime Optimus, learn from movie Optimus and stop teaching the Autobots morals! The war would have been over from the start if movie Optimus was in charge.

He must have been working his tail off back at the base with Arcee the past few months to master basic Cybertronian tech and language. The guy has serious life skills. No wonder his mom trusts him so much.

I wonder if they’ll take this cause/effect reality check to the logical extreme and have her face the prospect of having gotten someone, preferably Bulkhead for max emotional trauma, killed by her actions?

This episode illustrates what I like most about the series. It is all about the subtle; no flashy “heroic” music, no dramatic pauses, no drama for the sake of drama, Bulkhead or Jack, the guy just jumps in and did what needed to be done.

The Autobots won nothing in this episode. There was no victory for either side. Everyone survived.SlyTF1 wrote:I'm sick of the Autobots winning every episode. The Decepticons haven't won a single one yet, except for MAYBE the very first episode.
Movie Optimus could learn a thing or two about mercy and compassion from Prime Optimus. With those words by Jack alone, Prime Optimus is looking better and better than Movie Optimus since he's starting to fit better into the "Optimus Prime" mold than Movie Optimus ever did. Heroic, compassionate, considerate, and above all, righteous.SlyTF1 wrote:And what's all this crap about Optimus not killing Decepticons? Damnit, Prime Optimus! This is why I like movie Optimus. Ever seen the Nolan Batman films? Recall how Bats doesn't kill even when the enemy is down, and yet he still comes out on top. Jack could have struck Megs, but he's a better person than that.
