Is it just me, or the pretender decepticons are the best ones? Because MONSTERS work perfectly while humans are just... awkward...

There's no doubt in my mind the 'Cons rule for Pretenders, Kanra!

Iguanus is great! The inner-Iggy needed some repairs (missing left foot), but I bought a spare parts version for just such a thing. It might've been better to buy a backip that wasn't pure parts, but it worked out.It's his silhouette that I dig the most - his spikes are totally rock & roll.Then I got silly with Groundbreaker.

Since beginning my Pretender quest, I now have 6!
Being vintage toys, they vary in terms of completeness and quality -- but I love 'em all.
Groundbreaker is cool, too.

I wish you good luck on Bludgeon and Thunderwing. Because complete, they are worth a FORTUNE! I was lucky enough to find them for (relatively) dirt cheap all at once! But if you don't mind the occasional missing gun or accessory, you may still be able to get some decent looking Bludgeon and Thunderwing.

Me, I have another Holy Grail in sight:

Y'know, that picture makes me realise that TR Sky Shadow really is a great update despite being an obvious Overlord pre-tool. A lot of effort went into preserving the upper torso silhouette as well as the shape of the jet, the Headmaster works much better as the little-dude-inside-the-bigger-dude thing, and the legs being much bulkier give him a way better and more intimidating identity than the legs he has on the G1 -- I'd say that aesthetically the G1's legs are the worst part of the figure. It also brings out some of the better features like the horns. I'm much more tempted to have Sky Shadow now...

TR Sky Shadow is INCREDIBLE. Buy it NAO before it's too late.

Also, the deluxe is pretty amazing too.

That sounds like a worthy Grail to hunt, Kanra! I think the G1 incarnation looks cool, and I totally get it from a vintage/Pretenders/G1-love perspective. I also dig TR Shadow, Kurona.

Nah, as you can see in the last picture, the body can fold up into the head.

Those toys also had a very nice voicebox in the body saying a loud phrase by the official actor. Kinda make me want to get the others.

I was able to score a couple more Pretenders over the weekend: Bomb-Burst & Submarauder!I'm especially excited for Bomb-Burst.

I hunted down and found Carnivac ($20, shell & inner-bot; missing both pauldrons, gun & wolf-tail)!I had no idea he would come along so quickly for a decent price -- of course, getting all his accessories will be an overpriced adventure in patience....I want his tail and gun at the very least.

That shot of him tucked up in half his shell is almost morbid, like he's been dissected.
