in this day and age she is a celebrity, maybe not for reasons you accept, but she is.

When has Pete Rose been a relevant celebrity in the last 20 years, and yet he has been featured in at least 2 wm's and is in the hall of fame. And he was a disgraced celebrity at that.

Pam anderson was a part of wm because she has big boobs and ran down the beach, same with Jenny Mccarthy.

I guess so. I mean, a few minutes before they announced that match, they inducted Drew Freakin' Carey into the Hall of Fame. They set the bar pretty low when they did that.

Drew's in the HoF? I never knew this. When did this happen?

And this year's WM has 3 matches/story lines I already am planning to watch it for:

Taker vs. HHH
Lawler vs. Cole
The Rock

This week's Raw, before they did Vickie/Trish.

Yeah, I'm watching it for those matches, too.

Oh. So he's just going in. For what? Appearing in the 2001 Rumble? Oh well. Shatner is in for strong-arming Lawler...

I watched Raw this week, and what happened with Lawler and JR reminded me why I stopped watching a couple of years ago. The only reason I tuned back in was because I heard the Rock was back. If Michael Cole doesn't get a serious ass-beating at WrestleMania, it'll be a tragedy, and will most likely turn me off for good.

Well, it's either that, or to promote his new show.

It's probably for the Rumble.

See, my opinion on the whole Michael Cole thing is that, even though I know it's all scripted and he most likely doesn't feel that way in real life, it's gotten to the point when it's so awful for me to tolerate that I honestly wish that someone would kill him to shut him up already. I mean, when it gets to the point when killing someone is seen as a good idea, you gotta figure that you've crossed some kind of line.

And yeah, I honestly am hoping that this is building up to an ass kicking at Wrestlemania and the return of JR, because otherwise this has been a complete waste of TV time.

My issue with Cole is that all his antics take away from the wrestling going on. Commentators are supposed to put the wrestlers over not themselves.

Your absolutely correct and there's a way to do it that doesn't take away from the wrestling in the ring. Having him stand up and interrupt a match is wrong.

Traditionally WM is the big payoff on alot of storylines.

Most likely King will beat the **** out of cole for the face payoff and then after wards Cole will still be a heel announcer but probably humbled a lil bit type of character.

That's just it. I don't mind the antics that are going on, because it's all scripted, but if there isn't a proper payoff, then there are a lot of wasted emotions and time.

And HHH better not break the streak, because that will make Taker's WM accomplishments less meaningful.

I'd like to believe that. I really, really would. Even seeing him say as much on the History of Wrestlemania DVD should make me believe that. But I don't.

Can you blame me/us? I mean, the guy spent late 2002 to mid 2005 dominating Raw and holding on to the World Title like Gollum with the Ring (yes, he did loose it to Michaels, Goldberg and Benoit, but with the exception of Benoit, but their careers weren't generally helped by having it), which was made all the worse by the fact that he got married to Stephanie about the same time.

Not at all, but in the time since he has helped to put over others like sheamus, and to help keep Orton over.

I dont associate his marriage with his superpush. He had been with Stephanie since the late 90's it wasnt like that aspect was new. Part of it was to push evolution as a supergroup to the likes of the 4 horsemen and they needed to show that the power lies with the champion.

Bit off topic question:

I'm considering buying the WrestleMania 25 DVD set, mainly for the Hall of Fame disc. If you have the set, can you tell me, was that a good HoF ceremony? I mean, did the Funks, Steamboat, Austin, and their presenters talk a lot about their careers and stuff? Or was it shorter than the usual 2 1/2 hours?

I guess it's time for the Wrestlemania predictions.

Kane, Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov and Santino Marella vs. The Corre

Apparently they're working an injury angle for Kozlov, who got hurt during a match at Axxess. Heard his replacement is Kevin Nash. I don't think it matters one way or the other, since Corre are likely to win one of two ways: doing something behind the ref's back or getting blatantly disqualified.

Should Win: Kane, Show, Marella and Kozlov/Diesel
Will Win: Corre

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan for the US Title

Since Sheamus won the US title in a match that had a stipulation that said he would quit, I think it's obvious that Bryan will get his win back here. I mean, Sheamus is one of their top guys. I doubt he would have quit like Batista did, and I equally doubt that Bryan would agree without getting his win back someday.

Should Win: Sheamus
Will Win: Daniel Bryan

Dolph Ziggler and Lay-Cool vs. John Morrison, Trish Stratus and the Jersey Shore Twit

Oh, come on. Really? Is it not obvious that Morrison, Stratus and the Jersey Shore Twit are going to win this? I mean, the WWE wouldn’t throw money at the Twit to appear and wrestle with their top female wrestler and one of their most popular guys just to lose, would they?

Should Win: Morrison, Stratus and the Twit
Will Win: Morrison, Stratus and the Twit

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

The fact that they let Rhodes unmask Mysterio, albeit from behind so his face wasn’t seen (proving that, even at their dumbest, the guys in WWE are smarter than the folks who ran WCW), means that Rey will win this. I doubt he would have agreed to do that otherwise.

Should Win: Mysterio
Will Win: Mysterio

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

I don’t get the booking behind this match. Punk getting back at Orton for something that happened two years ago that most likely no one remembers? At least its got a back story to it. Can’t really say anymore about this other than the fact that Orton’s likely to win, mostly because Punk is a monster heel at present and I just can’t see him winning.

Should Win: Orton
Will Win: Mysterio

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole

The WWE has done such a good job at making Cole an unsympathetic and annoying [insert swear of choice here] that they could only get away with it if Lawler beat the living hell out of him. I’d prefer he get utterly eradicated, but that’s just me. Austin’s involvement as the ref more or less made that official weeks ago. Open and shut case, this.

Should Win: Lawler
Will Win: Lawler

The Miz vs. John Cena

Am I really the only one who hates The Miz. While I don’t deny that he’s entertaining enough, putting the belt on him was pretty much the dumbest idea Vince had since doing the exact same thing with JBL. I figured that little experiment would have proven that you shouldn’t give your highest honour to a guy who doesn’t deserve it. For that reason alone, Cena is going to win.

Should Win: Cena
Will Win: Cena

Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

OK. On the one hand, we have Edge, a guy whose been with the company for ten plus years, won multiple titles and is super over with the fans. And on the other, we have…some guy I never heard of before the Rumble, who Vince seems to think is main event material. Obvious here Edge is going to win.

Should Win: Edge
Will Win: Edge

Undertaker vs. Triple H

The thing that bothers me most about this match is Trips’ stated desire not to be a number on Taker’s streak, which wouldn’t bother me so much except for the fact that he already was a number on that list. In fact, aside from a mention on the website when it was first announced, there’s been no mention at all of their previous match. Another thing that bothers me is that, for the first time, there’s an actual danger that the streak might end. I heard in the dirt sheets that Taker is supposed to retire this year. Good for him, I think. I mean, he’s done everything to do in the WWE, and, considering he had two major injuries last year, I think it might be time. But I don’t think it should come at the expense of the streak, and I seriously don’t want it to come at the hands of Trips. On the other hand, Trips is set to take his position at the head of creative (apparently getting an office at WWE headquarters), so it would make sense for him to retire here. Not even both Vince and Trips saying on the History of Wrestlemania DVD how Taker’s streak shouldn’t be broken can convince me one way or the other how this match is going to go. One way or the other, it’s gonna be brutal.

Should Win: Taker
Will Win: Who knows?

2 things:

1) I also heard Koffi Kingston to replace Koslov
2) Jersey Shore Twit-tee hee I'm gonna chuckle all day over that one.

Last I read Kofi was going to replace Koslov.

Adr will most likely go over edge. Adr was in Mexico before WWE as Dos Caras Jr. look him up on youtube, I hear he's pretty good.

I dont think HHH will end the streak, nor is he retiring here. He already has his office in Stamford, and they have not added any kind of retire stip for this. Look for Michaels to interfere, possibly against HHH even.

And The Miz has been a better heel champion than most have in recent years, plus he is spreading the WWE word in the mainstream media which is always a good thing.

I think Rhodes may go over Rey in this one, Rey handpicked Rhodes as his program for Wm so I could see him be willing to lose, to continue the fued.

Here is a link to wrestlemania if anybody wants to watch. They just finished Taker/HHH. 19-0. It's legit, watching it now.

Well, Wrestlemania came and went, and I am mostly satisfied with the results.

SPOILERS ahead!

I was happy to see that The Rock actually cost Cena the title, and it wasn't some ruse between the 2 to screw The Miz. Not because I like the Miz, but because I really really don't like Cena. He's a douche bag.

Also, I kinda knew the Undertaker would win, but the match was still awesome, and definitely showed that Taker is on his way down, as is The Game. Maybe next year they'll have a rematch for 20-0, and Taker will call it quits.

And yes, finally that little asshole Michael Cole got what he deserved. Even though he technically got the decision, it wasn't because someone interfered for him and he actually scored a pin, but because of the GM giving it to him after both he and Swagger got their asses beat.

And the only other match I cared about, Edge against that idiot Del Rio, ended as I wanted it as well. Edge retaining, and then as a bonus, Edge and Christian trashing Del Rio's car. Funny.

Morrison, Stratus and Snooki beat Laycool and Ziggler.
The Corre got beat by Kane, Show, Kofi, and Santino.
Orton beat Punk.
Cody Rhodes beat Rey Mysterio.
Kali won the Battle Royal.

Those last 5 matches I wasn't really interested in, though I was happy to see Orton win. I will most likely get the DVD set for the Taker/HHH fight, The Rock's interference, and the Hall of Fame, where Shawn got his due and was joined by Nash, X-Pac and HHH. Where was Hall? Also, Sunny still looks f**kin' hot.

This was overall a good PPV. I give it 7/10.
