You know what?

This whole Edge out coulda worked out to be pretty cool with four words: Ric Flair New Champion.

I mean honestly, Ric winning a battle royale to win another title would have been sweet. Followed by Flair vs Batista at Great American Bash. With Flair retaining the title, and dropping it to Dave at Summerslam.

It would have been a great last horrah for Ric, and built a great rematch for Summerslam, and gave Flair a chance to pass the torch to Batista.

Brillant.

Instead we have Khali.

Yeah that's better.

The fricking Heavyweight belt is an injury magnet hold this belt and boom your out for 4 months wonder if it can strike 3rd time on Khali get rid of him for a while :-?

Take your pick for the beginning: it starts with Brock Lesnar either not wanting to lose the belt or not being able to come back to Japan due to Visa issues and he is stripped of the IWGP title by New Japan. But he kept the belt because, well, because he felt like it. He then defended the belt against Kurt Angle in a show put on by Antonio Inoki for his new wrestling group, where Angle defeated Lesnar with the ankle lock to win the belt; I would guess Lesnar lost because he doesn't care about having the belt anymore since he's moving to MMA and because they've been vaguely hinting at Lesnar and Angle fighting an MMA match.
