So, I was browsing around ign today when I saw this article.

To me, a guy who has been a huge Venom fan, going so far as to own every Venom comic, and striving to collect all the figures that came out the last 10-15 years.

I was pissed when they went the whole "Eddie has cancer, so the symbiote doesn't like him.....oh, also, Scorpion is becoming the new Venom" route.

But reading this news, makes me actually want to start reading the regular Spider-man continuity again. Dealing with Eddie's cancer, the fact that Aunt May is a couple doors down, not to mention Eddie's whole desire to want to help innocents again, and him dealing with the fact that Spider-man outed himself. It's going to be awesome.

I could just see Eddie regaining the symbiote, becoming what he was, and kicking some ass of some hitman sent to take out Aunt May/Mary Jane.

Here's hoping. I like Mac better as the Scorpion, it's no good giving Gargan the symbiote, and I absolutely love the character of Venom. I figured Eddie would return somehow around now with the movie and I would hope he becomes Venom once more.

I dont follow the spidey comics so I dont really know whats been going on, but I can't believe the scorpion has the venom symbiote! How did that happen? Can't the symbiote cure the cancer?

And for some reason, when I read this thread title, I thought there was gonna be a Venom Movie spinning out of Spidey 3 (I don't care what you all say, that would not have ended Venom when it just scarred Harry. Venom still lives!).

I heard they were going to make a Venom movie years ago, but it was scrapped. I have no idea any recent plans for Venom.

I've been a fan of comic books since I was a little kid, and it always struck me that nothing ever changed or grew or impacted these characters in any real way.

You know what? I liked it. I liked the change. I liked the difference. It might not have been the best change, but it affected the lives of Brock, Mac, Peter....did you read the exchange between Osbourne and Mac in the New Thunderbolts series? It makes for good comics.

Yesssssssssssss They are back. Venom and Eddy will be one once more! Gargan is a loot cooler as Scorpion and Venom shuld alwas be Eddy. Venom is back my favorit Comic figure right after Spidy. Now all I need is the retorn of Cassidy and Carnage and a new Toxin story.

Wahoo! Eddie isn't dead! Yet But hopefully, the symbiote will realise how stupid it has been and will save Eddie and then become the real Venom again!

I doubt Eddie would go and eat MJ's brains. I would expect him to end up saving MJ's and Aunt May's life, which would totally screw with Pete's head. Then Eddie would try to kill Spider-man again for old time's sake.

And thanks, was a pain in the ass to get the Venom logo(not the spider) to look halfway decent.

Edit: and yeah, Venom only wants to really kill Spider-man, he wouldn't hurt someone he deems an innocent, Aunt May and MJ he's both have said to be innocents, however he would still kidnap MJ in order to lure Spidey into a trap.

I never saw the attraction to dopplegangers, "Venom" only looked good on Spidey, I see the new "Venomous Scorpion" as a good thing.

ya venoms hatred is from pete rejecting the symbiot. its feelings got hurt and when it got off him, it then found eddie who was filled w/ hatred for spidey as well. during the last venom arch when eddie was still venom the symbiot or eddie(cant remember) told this to spidey and he was suprised that the symbiot still wants to be with him. and ya eddie was never a bad guy, he was just an ass. so he never wanted to hurt innocent people, but if your not innocent then look out lol.

I know he wouldned eat her brain, but he did tri to kill her once (The Venom Agenda). I just said it would be a real shock for Pet. Anyway I would prefer if he would just kill Iron Man.

Well, in Deathtrap The vault, Venom and alot of the Vault prisoners kicked the crap out of the Avengers and the Freedom Force.

Only reason why Venom lost, is that comic was originally an Avengers title.

So not only has Venom beat up Iron Man twice, but also stomped the Avengers.
