The con logo as the comm badge is a nice touch. And the man is a great actor. He was also in a short series on ITV last year as a scientist that ran around trying to solve crimes. His performance was about the only thing that made it worth watching. Shame I can't remember the name of it though.

First let me ask you this....are you a Star Trek fan and also a Fan of Si Fi in general.

Well my question is very simple.....do you believe that alternate universe versions of a person is the same character?For exsample Star Trek mainstream universe Kira or Mirror universe Kira.

Belief? Ohh, that's a tough one, I'm not really one for belief but that's a discussion for another time.

Well I'd assume according to canon/narrative that their lives or universes ran parrallel up until a certain point in space time, at this point within one or say both universes a state vector collapsed and things were forever changed.

Quantum, and various other less scientific but more esoteric, theory would suggest that either they are; two seperate individuals but the same:

Soul

Running different courses after a divergency point in space time.

Or, and this is the more quantum model, they are connected and one, just as we all are, for whatever reason that may be. Be it a unified fields theory, the quantum inseperability principle (even across parrallel dimensions) or the existence of black holes/wormholes on the sub-atomic level.

The former holds that every particle in the Universe affects every other particle everywhere. The latter contends that everything causes everything, every which way in time. I view alternate realities of the same people the same way I view different continuities. They may have the same name, even the same appearance, but they are different people with different lives, different goals, different objectives in life, you get the idea. Their DNA would be the same, unless something happened to one that tampered with it like genetic engineering, and they may even move and talk the same, making it really hard to bet on one in a fight, but they are ultimately different people. As different as identical twins (from the same universe, obviously).

I've knowen for some time now just how versed you are in the topic of Quantum Physics ,its why I sought you out for this question.What I was hoping for was your opinion on how the Counterpart theory might apply to the exsample I gave you.

My belief on the topic stem's from a pshicylogical point of view.That even if both worlds had very simular time lines and history.....that from the point of divergence, the events in the now differing worlds would shape its residents counterparts in different ways and in such foraging different personalitys and in a sence characters.Like with the exsample I provided for you before....the differences in her universes took place close to 400 years before she was born.Would you see both Kira's as the same character?????
