I will never watch Last Jedi again, and I will not see Episode 9 in theaters. And I will not see any Star Wars films that have anything directly to do with the Sequel Trilogy.
I will see Solo in theaters though, and as long as they keep making a Anthology films outside of the main continuity, I’ll watch those. As long as they don’t make A Star Wars Story about the sequel trilogy.

I know I have already posted videos on the previous page, but I feel these show the current state of Star Wars.
On the other side,Lando is shaping up to be the best part of the Solo movie.

Not much from the original trilogy is referenced besides Tatooine and Jabba the Hutt. However, Darth Maul makes a cameo (played by Ray Park) which puts this story before (or at least during) Phantom Menace. It was definitely left open for at least one sequel.

Shame about the final battle between him and Kenobi, really was a blink and you miss it thing.
Back to Solo ... I've actually lost interest in seeing it. Is Lando the highlight of the movie as some reviewers have suggested?

I didn't think so. He was a supporting character in the original trilogy and he is the same here. Donald Glover channeled Billy Dee Williams very well, and he played Lando very sly, even borderline sleazy. I would say next to Han and Chewie the highlight of the movie was the Falcon. I did think that Han was played nearly identical to how Chris Pratt played Star Lord in Guardians. But that's not a bad thing.Burn wrote:Is Lando the highlight of the movie as some reviewers have suggested?

It could be really cool, if handled well. The current track record is shakey though.Ironhidensh wrote:Does anybody even want a Boba Fett movie?
I quickly realized I better scroll down and lightly scan the last few posts.
I'm seeing Solo in about 4 hours. While I'm excited, I'm trying to keep my expectations low and an open mind.
See you guys in a few hours.

I do. The adventures of an intergalactic bounty hunter have limitless possibilities. And the writers don't even have to bother with the origin story, because we know where he comes from. I'm not a big fan of the character, after all he's just a minor supporting character, but I would like to see his story be expanded. Also, the stand alone movies have been way better than Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.Ironhidensh wrote:Does anybody even want a Boba Fett movie?

Which is why I'm not interested either.
What's to tell? As a young child he watched a Jedi murder his father so he took up the Mandalorian armour and became a bounty hunter and hunted people across the galaxy.
Then he fell in the sarlac pit. Then he climbed out.
What's there to really tell?

Oh and SOLO was great fun. I really enjoyed it. Honestly I wouldn’t be opposed to Alden Ehrenreich coming black as Han in a sequel if they decide to make one. He was great.

It's all about imagination. Maybe the writer hired for the movie has more talent?Ironhidensh wrote:Well, maybe it's just me, and maybe it's due to Karen traviss's abysmal EU novels, but I find Fett to be an incredibly boring and pointless character.

Technically that's what the original prequel trilogy was about. The rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker.
But there's a gap between Revenge and New Hope that would be full of potential Vader stories. (Which they're using the comics for to tell)

The original trilogy was about Luke, the prequels were about Anakin. We have never had a Vader movie.
There is no possible way Vader stomping ass and taking names could get boring.

So if the sequence from Rogue One where he attacks Leila's ship were stretched out into a 2-hour-plus "movie" you would find that exciting?Ironhidensh wrote:There is no possible way Vader stomping ass and taking names could get boring.

I would hope they would set it a number of years after the Empire is firmly established and Emo is out.
I would also want to see (given how well her series is doing) Doctor Aphra and evil C-3PO and evil R2-D2.
