Death Star wreckage? Brilliant, I love that idea!
The Emperors laugh gave me a brief chill.
But the name is.... dumb. And after 8, I'm not too thrilled. I didn't like 8 much at all.

Do you refer to the new movies as the sequel trilogy or the Disney trilogy? Or something else?

Cob, that’s a really cool angle that I never thought about. I’m going to accept it now as the canon I never new I needed!
Speaking of ol’ Papa Palpatine, y’all see that new Black Series figure of him with his Death Star Throne? Isn’t that thing just the coolest?
Man I hope The Mandalorian is cool. It has the potential to be as good as Rogue One, I just hope it’s better than Agents of SHIELD. With John Favreau, Dave Filoni, AND Taika Waitit, I’m sure it will be.

Also, I always thought that with palpatine, he was trading his youth for power. Like how magic always has a cost, or one of those faustian deals. He grew more powerful but it drained his lifeforce and made him age tremendously inorder to release all that power. that power did of course subsequently leave him alive for a long time, but always looking like that.
Honestly, I always felt that was something really dumb in the prequels. When we see him as a younger man we are all thinking, makes sense this is him young and later he is old. he would just age into looking older later (like Obi Wan, Greedo, Darth Vader, Luke, ect). That would have made perfect sense. But no, Lucas wanted us to end right up to where we begin in a new hope as much as possible even if there was still 18 years till we get there.

The thing with the games is why ea should be stripped of the licence for the games. The new one looks cool but I'm expecting them not to learn their lessons from the horrendous battlefront games.

The Boba Fett movie was never actually announced as being in development, and neither was the Obi-Wan movie. Honestly, I think all the Boba Fett film rumors were more tied to this show than anything else.
But also, Kathleen Kennedy has no idea what she wants to do with the franchise. That’s what gives.

I have from a reputable source that the Boba Fett idea was originally Lucas's waaaaaay back when Cartoon Network did the Clone Wars 2D animated shorts. The idea was originally for a TV series. He even approached Genndy Tartakovsky (producer of said CN shorts) with the idea.Nemesis Maximo wrote:william-james88 wrote:I am really confused. I think The Madalorian is just the evolution of that idea.
I also think Kennedy has an idea of what she want to do with it, I just don't think anyone else wants her to do it!

Not sure about rise of sky walker. Last Jedi pretty much killed the Disney canon for me. It’ll take a rogue squadron revival or bringing back the solo kids to restore my interest. Unless the rumors are correct about a kotor series.....
Damn it Star Wars stop toying with my emotions

Rodimus Prime wrote:Solo didn't fail. It was a fairly good origin story that made a profit. It didn't meet Disney's expectations, but how could it? Episode 7 and Rogue One made a lot, but they came out close to each other, and Episode 8 was on the way as well. I think people were starting to get Star Wars fatigue, and unfortunately Solo was the one that suffered, instead of the POS that Episode 8 was. But IMO, Solo is 2nd only behind Rogue One in terms of quality storytelling, and way ahead of both Episodes 7 and 8. I hope it gets a sequel, telling the story of how Han and Chewie got mixed up with Jabba, and having it end at the bar in Mos Eisley right before Han SHOOTS FIRST and kills Greedo.
I was referring to how Disney seems to have perceived it

Where did you read that? Because every source I can find shows quite the opposite.
Source https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?i ... gyfilm.htm
Budget: $275 million
Gross: $392,924,807
Since only half (at most) of the gross goes back to the film distributors (movie theatres keep at least 50% of ticket sales) that means only $196,462,403 went back to Disney, at most.
$275-$196 means losses of about $80 Million. And its very possible movie theatres took a cut closer to 60% or 65% so that would mean an even bigger loss.

It does not, it is only the production budget. Major money was lost here.

I was ok with it. It wasn't a bad film, but it didn't have anything exciting to it. It reminds me a lot of Captain Marvel (my opinion): objectively it is good with good performances and a decent storyline serving as an origin story; but it didn't have that "oomf" needed to really catch my attention more.

So if Anakin hadn't done anything, Palpatine would have gotten up and defeated Windu? Which means that there was no one strong enough to defeat him at the time?Ironhidensh wrote:Mace Windu was NOT strong enough to defeat Palpatine. That whole fight was just a ploy to help turn Anakin.

Correct. The movies did a piss poor job at laying it out. If you are inclined to reading at all, check out the official novelization of Revenge of the Sith. Does an excellent job of laying it out. Even how Obi Wan triumphed through training and not power, and quite a bit of luck.
Anakin is the most powerful Jedi ever, though he lost much of his power after the Mustafar fight. “More machine now, than man”, thus loosing the title to his son.
Luke is the second, and Palpatine is the third. There is an argument for Leia being as strong as Luke, but her potential was never realized.
