Solo is the epitome of story telling in the SW universe! The idjits who are boycotting this don't know what they are MISSING! I mean, from the original premise of escapism in a galaxy far far away, now we are confronted with realism we supposedly encounter with our daily activities of living!

Kudos to Kathleen Kennedy for broad vision to widening the fanbase from obese sweaty nerds of the albino type to a more diverse crowds of the vocally assertive opposite sex (or gender).

These are the types who are sure to sustain the franchise by continuously purchasing products that are the simulacrum of the latest charismatic characters of the saga which are produced by a multinational company that follows to the letter all US labor laws!

Robot rights? I'm all for it! Heck, even interfacing in a more intimate manner the way Cool-O Lando does is a start ( reminds me of Overwatch) with an oven toaster, then a vacuum cleaner etc etc.

I'm also very psyched with the upcoming Bobba Fett movie about everyone's fave badass clone/son of the original template of the Clone Trooper bounty hunter.

Obiwan is sure to be a hit with the fans!

Episode 9 can't get here soon enough! :x

Addendum:

In the original Trilogy, the Yakk face figure is the most prized. Sure not enough to take your kid to college but still a great prize.

In TLJ, we have a sure fire hit in rose Tico and in Solo, LEE7! Buy multiples folks! A few years from now, you won't regret it!

I think explicitly in the Revenge of the Sith Novelization, but it’s part of the biography you can read on the Wikia entry. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bail_Organa

So alederaan sent their king to be their senator...I wonder then if the monarchy was just a figure head and that the people who really ran the planet was a prime minister of some description.

I think he's a prince, not a king (as in , he married into the royal family). And wouldnt the senator position be more important than prime minister? I mean, he voted in the existence of the Empire.

But naboo had a queen and a senator...that was my point though if he was just a prince that could mean his wife's parents were still alive ala prince William and Kate (with his dad still waiting patiently for the throne)

I've heard differing reports regarding that. Some are refuting the charge entirely. What didn't go in solo's favour was the troubled production it had (did we ever find out exactly why there was problems?)

Also lucas revealed what he would have done 7-9 about...more midi-chlorians...

Say what you want about the Disney films but it's clear that Lucas was long since past his best. Actually he was always one who worked better behind the scenes, letting directors do their thing (like Empire)

The franchise(especially the toys) is what made Lucas filthy rich! Why aren't the fans buying anymore? Too much too soon? Or too much milking (not to mention the addition of too much in your face force feeding "stuff" into the storyline that goes beyond the suspension of disbelief we have always accepted SW to be) to get back their $4 billion ( I heard it was like more than that)?

FA earned almost $2b (thanks to the fans goodwill) and TLJ earned more or less $ 1b + and RO just about $ 1b (still less than TLJ). Soylo is said to have cost more to make than TLJ...... and FLOPPED. Sure as heck that if according to Hb, TLJ toys aren't selling then what more the Soylo toys! Has Disney recoup their investment already or just about break even? Seems the trend is more on the diminishing side (even the BD sales of TLJ is said to be dismal).

Disney must be doing some "right" over George if the trend continues!

What about Hb? The licensed they paid to Disney must have been around $200,000,000++. If they lost BIG TIME with KK's version of SW, will this have ramifications to the Transformers brand? Either Hb scrimping on costs like materials and increasing the price of their products!

What I fear is that Transformers may end up the same way like it did back in 1991 if the hit Hb is taking from SW is too high. :(

I doubt tf is in trouble as it has an advantage over marvel and sw, hasbro owns it so any money they make on it is theirs unlike with sw toys were some of that will go back to Disney. Besides tf died not because of other toys selling poorly but because the toys themselves performed poorly.

Also don't worry about hasbro cutting corners if forced too...they'll do that anyway without any provocation  same as takara who just performed an ultimate cost cutting measure, by releasing the exact same toys as hasbro for once.

Are those the Rian JOhnson ones? Or the ones like Obi Wan and Bobba Fett. If the later then its probably due to Solo currently being a loss for the studio.

I was curious just now and did some math. So not taking marketting into account, the movie's budget is said to be 275 Million. Which might even be conservative since they had to redo the film a bunch.

Ayways, so since the thetres take 50% of revenue, that means the movie needs to make at least 550 Million to not be a financial disaster. And right now its at 345 Million, meaning Disney currently lost a minimum of 100 Million dollars. And remember, this does not take any marketting into account.

The Last Knight made almost triple its production budget and that was still not enough to the point of future films in that continuity being scrapped. So by that comparison, Solo is really terrible for Disney and they have to rethink their stuff, most especially the side films not featuring light sabers, jedi and the force.

The Obi-Wan and Boba Fett ones. Sadly, the next trilogy that Rian Johnson will be overseeing are still in the works.

This sort of **** isn't exclusive to the Star Wars franchise. You forget where you are, we've had many people over the last 10 years say they could do a better job than Michael Bay (despite having ZERO experience), thankfully none of them have tried to go this far (that I know of)

I mean, I get it and all, coz I absolutely loath Last Jedi with every fiber of my being, to the point where I refuse to watch Episode 9 unless someone I trust tells me it’s the Star Wars equivalent to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

But claiming to have investors and heckling Seth Rogen to remake Last Jedi? That’s...sad. Just sad.

Concerning Soylo, Disney plunked it an extra $80,000,000 on the reshoots. Not to mention the additional $ 100,000,000 in advertising. So it's really in the red!

Oh, those Rian Johnson trilogy leaks? It's just vapor films! Ain't gonna happen. Disney is just not admitting that in public yet, maybe a year or so from now after the stockholders meet. They'll let it out.

Only reason we ever watch SW is because of the Skywalkers! Abrams and Johnson's characters have as much charisma and gravitas as buounic plague has over the common cold! Proof? Toy sales related to their version of SW!

And don't give me this spin from Disney shills that fans now are more into electronic games and stuff. TF belies that! Especially lines like MP. Man babies like us continue to buy the stuff despite our being into electronic games and stuff!

If the characters have no charisma then why continue buying their articulated physical representations then?

The dumbest thing they did with Solo was move away from the "traditional" (as traditional as a few years get) December release and instead slapped it in the middle of the Avengers-Deadpool sandwich.

Yeah I think solo was released in the wrong time slot but they probably thought a star wars film would do well in the beginning of blockbuster season.

As for the last jedi stuff, I was okay with the film, I'll happily see episode 9 because I want to see where their take of the movie will go. I've read the eu take of what happens next, I now know what lucas would have done, and so I want to see what Disney do. The beauty in all this is that all have done what they've done with the same building blocks. Like them or not, I still think it's impressive that we've got wildly different takes.

Also why seth rogen? And wouldn't a remake of last jedi be impossible without princess leia? When people get passionate to that degree they should really think about taking a step back and cool themselves off for a while and remember the things they like about the franchise still exist.

Last Jedi Backlash was also a factor, not to mention it hadn't even been six months since the previosu Star Wars film. i do think they'd have been wiser to put it during the Holidays since it wouldn't be competing with Marvel It's only real competition would have been Aquaman and probably the Grinch (why is this one not in December) animated film.
