The Tagan Heights

Postby The J Writer » Sat Dec 22, 2007 3:12 pm

Forty percent of Cybertron's industrial capacity and massive reserves of natural energon lay in the Tagan Heights. Simple necessity has spared the Heights from the worst of the Civil War, but a recent lightning-strike assault by Scorponok and his Decepticons removed the wealthy, well-maintained city-state from Autobot hands. Now, Scrapper and the Constructicons work to turn the Heights' vast industrial complexes to the Decepticon cause, and Thunderwing has assumed command as Megatron recalls Scorponok to Kaon to continue work on Pretender technology.

Decepticon Outpost - generator area

Femme Decepticons were indeed rare. Sometimes Silverstrike wondered why they existed at all. The reflective Metalliko mistress thought about Shrike's second comment, yes there were a lot of sparkless flying drones about. Not much company for a sentient transformer. Silver listened as Shrike continued.

Ah, so she had participated in making the holes, which meant shrike had been in the battle. It occurred to the argent female that Thunderwing always seemed to send her on a solo assignment just before a battle. Inwardly Silver felt a touch of anger, she was not some fragile piece of art to keep under a glass casing. Perhaps when she returned inside she would request to be assigned to a team. Maybe even the commandos. She really wouldn't mind the the opportunity to serve their commander, he was intelligent, imposing and deadly. Traits silver could understand and work with.

Shrike's final words brought silver's attention back to the conversation. Speaking of higher ups, she wondered if they knew Megatron was here?

“Perhaps we could offer the Constructicons our assistance. We would do better than the drones, and maybe assist Scrapper with anything thats out of reach or requires flight. I'm sure they would like to get everything done in a timely manor. Especially since Lord Megatron is in the landing hanger.”

Silver opened a hail to Scrapper.

>>Scrapper this is Silverstrike. I was hoping I could be of assistance to your team. Perhaps seek out any materials you might need or provide any extra hands on to your crew.<<

This would keep her occupied for now, at least until the hypnotist was free so that they could speak in earnest.

Decepticon Outpost Tau

She wouldn't question why Femmes were created. They have a differing mentality, usually. At least most, especially around peace time.
Then again she couldn't be an example of this. As calm as she is, she's just as warlike as anyone else. Then again, this heavily bladed, fairly well armed femme has no peace time. Every molecule is dedicated for combat.

Shrike looks at Silver in reply to her suggestion. "It couldn't hurt to help the Constructicons, but I'm not certain we are qualified for such a task." Scorponok's dressing down of her over the cave-in incident still in her mind. "But as you say, our ability to fly may come in handy."

She sounded genuinely surprised as she continues. "Emperor Megatron is here? Quite an honor to not only be in the same region as he, but there is the possibility of being under his command or fighting along side him. Are there other ranking officers here aside from Scorponok?" She asks curiously.
She wouldn't say that she thought it was a massive tactical error for Megatron to come to one of the hot spots of the war, but then again Megatron is as capable as anyone could hope to be, and there are quite a few people here to help him fight. As much of a tactical error she thought it was, it was hardly a real danger.

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

Scrapper turned from the Decepticon Road Commander and looked down the corridor, where not a few mechanometers away, he saw Shrike and Silverstrike. "The only other thing to report, Roadblock, is that we keep recieving offers of assistance from our fellow Decepticons. Quite heartening to see the generosity, in fact."
Excusing himself from Roadblock, Scrapper walked to the door and leaned out to face the 2 flying femmes. "The offer of assistance is greatly appreciated ladies," He began in an even more formal tone than he'd taken with Roadblock, "but currently, we're engaged in a mix of precision electrical engineering and heavy lifting. If you have any idea how to put together Power Generators or Laser Turrets, or if you can lift several omnitonnes of Ferrocrete in one go, then perhaps we can find you something to do. If not, then...hold on."

Industrial Complex A5

With the last of the bags of Ferrocrete slung hastily under his shovel in a cargo net, Scavenger followed Bonecrusher back out onto the road, heading back to the new Decepticon base. Between their subspace storage and their prodigous strength, the 3 constructicons had more than enough material to rebuild the broken walls of the fortress. "We'll still have to make a second trip though, Scrapper always wants metal in the 'Crete for reinforcement."
"Joy", grumbled Bonecrusher. "I'll bet Long Haul'll be real happy about that."
>>Scrapper here, double-checking that materials acquisition is going as planned. I've got some volunteers here asking to help out.<<
>>Scavenger reporting Sir! We've got enough 'crete to build you a fresh fortress, but....Achsshuuu!...my shovel can't pick up any steel with all the dust 'Crusher's raised. If you've got a Seeker handy to to some aerial work, we won't say no.<<
"That I raised?!??!?!"

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generator area

Silver’s Glacier hued optics flashed with amusement at Shrike’s show of interest in their leaders. The argent female seeker was never one to take interest in rank. If some one was above her and gave the silver flier an order she simply did it. She never needed to do any more or any less for every move she made was true and with out guile. Something most Decepticons did not have the capacity to do, or would call a weakness on her part. But….. it also made her a valuable soldier and ally. She considered a moment on how much information she was privy to disperse.

“I do not believe our Emperor will be here long. It is more an over seeing of the changing of the guard if you will. But it is not my place to inform on these things. I believe our superiors will debrief your teams as to what is going on. As for being qualified, I am not afraid to pick up a tool and perform with some instructions.”

Silver turned as Scrapper addressed them. She smiled sweetly at him, she knew the Constructicons had a sense of humor but he had come across like a gentilemech and she was quite impressed. Sadly her technical skills were limited as to what Thunderwing had taught her in his lab. So that she could assist him. Nor could she transport the amount of material he needed but……

Her unique design allowed her greater flexibility than most Transformers could dream of. An advantage for a martial artist but also it could allow her to squeeze into any places Scrapper might not be able to fit.

“I am afraid my skills are far limited compared to yours Scrapper but I’m very flexible and adaptable. With a little instruction I could do what ever you like…..”

She paused looking him over with ice blue optics.

“I can wait take as much time as you need”

The silver Angel looked back at Shrike. She need not worry about being idle in Megatron’s presence, and Silver could get away from Thunderwing for a while.

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Landing Pad One

"Indeed, Sir. Yes," Mindwipe responded aloud to Clench.

The Hypnotist paused for a moment before responding to superior's silent question about his Intel. It wasn't that he didn't trust his Commanding Officer. It was simply that one could not be too careful when it came to the business of espionage. It would not do for the nature of his source to be overheard, be it by another Decepticon, or some as yet unknown Autobot listening device.

Skillfully, the hypnotist triple-encrypted the secure channel his imposing superior had opened between them. Only then did he reply. <<Of course...Commander. I have a let us say...leak in Autobase Prime. Yes. ID Prefix Code 1979. The information comes to me first-hand, I...assure you. Yes. I am...sending my own files on the subject as we...converse. Yes.>> Data streamed silently through the secure channel. <<I am certain you shall find my records...satisfactory. Yes.>>

The entire exchange had taken but a few astroseconds. Resuming normal speech, the charismatic apostate continued as if nothing had occurred. "What are your orders...Commander? How shall my brothers and I...contribute this cycle?"

Decepticon Outpost Tau- Power Generators area.

The crimson Femme nodded to Silver, "As you like. I were only hoping to stay somewhat informed." Her tone carries no accusatory tones, or malice.
And with that she would wait for orders, being kept in the dark of who her new CO might be. Though it was hardly Silver's fault.
It didn't matter to her too much, though.
All she wanted were orders to follow. She doesn't care for leadership, or ranks.
She has her opinions and her loyalty to one CO may be higher than towards another, depending on many things. But regardless of what CO gives them, she follows orders. It's likely until someone asks no one will know who her preferred leaders are, and even then it's not something she'll likely disobey orders over.

In the end all she wants to do is what she's built for. And that's to fight her enemies, and win.
But she'd accept rewards for her prowess in combat with little complaint. Despite that she exists in the Decepticon army with low to no expectations for promotions.

Maybe combat isn't all she seeks. Truly, she wants to evolve. To become stronger, faster, better all around. But all that ties into her desire for combat.
Stagnation is not in her plans.
Her combat computer nags at her with blueprints for stronger versions of herself based on her current technology and what she'd hope to get.
Yes, she wanted such things as well because of her combat computer, but she felt no one would authorize the resources for her to evolve on her own terms so she says nothing, waiting for the right time which may never come.

Shrike replies to Scrapper's requirements. "I lack extraordinary strength and the know how to rebuild the mechanics you mentioned, but I can carry some cargo via the air, and I am able to cut materials." Her ability to melt materials is there, but she isn't too confident in that. Not since the whole mess with the cave-in sealing.

<<"Satisfactory indeed. Hold to this resource. It may prove more worth than it already has.">> Clench replied to Mindwipe through the secure comm-link they had enstablished and nodded towards the direction of Thunderwing who had been selected by Megatron to take command of the Heights.

"He needs to know."

Motioning Mindwipe to follow, Clench began marching towards the smaller warlord before he'd vanish like Megatron and Scorponok had. Rising his voice, Clench's intimidating boomed in the hangar, calling the warlord by name.

"Thunderwing!"

----------------------------------------------------------

Motormaster thundered into the hangar from the main service tunnel engine roaring, only meter or two behind Breakdown. Having still enough speed to flatten the smaller Stunticon before managing to grind to halt, Motormaster transformed into robot mode and slid nearly from tunnel entrance to Megatron's shuttle before friction brought him to halt. Breakdown was surely safe but more than likely he had scared the paranoid underling of his badly.

Giving a quick look at his surrounding, Motormaster could see two gunships at the landing pad. One he recognized to by designation Longshot. A relic from the so called Golden Age of Cybertron. Golden Age my tailpipe. Age of corruption if there ever was one. The ship's presence was a clear indication of Clench's presence in the Heights. No doubt they could relocate the Stunticons with the legendary Colossus of Perihellia and his squad replacing them here. Had the shuttle not blocked his view, Motormaster would have gained visual confirmation to his presumption.

The other gunship was of much newer design but didn't stand out in any way. Which was likely the reason it had been selected to carry the Supreme Leader of the Decepticons to Tagan rather than his personal carrier. Megatron was no where to be seen, likely he was waiting in the ship already. Wildrider and Drag Strip had better be there in a quarter breem or Megatron would have their hides.

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

The cold blue stare from Silverstrikes optics sent a shiver down Scrappers backstrut, but he wasn't sure exactly why. "Well, Ladies, if you're willing to have a look around, we are in need of a ready supply of metals to reinforce our construction. 'Crete without reinforcement just doesn't have the impact resistance a proper fortification needs".
He handed a datapad to Silver. "This is the 'Bots last survey of the functioning factories and raw material stockpiles in the Alpha sector of the Hieghts. You'd be much quicker in the air than Scavenger and his shovel, so you can verify this data and let us know where the important metals are. And while you're up there, a few aerial photos of the damage caused by the assault wouldn't be a bad thing. Once again, thank you, you do the Decepticon cause proud."

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

Silverstrike took the pad gently from Scrapper’s hands. Her sapphire like optics dulled slightly as she read the information. The list was colorful to say the least. She pressed her finger delicately on the panel showing the metal known as Tungsten steel an alloy, it was a strong substance yet it was yielding, and less likely to snap under stress. She looked back up at Scrapper.

“It shows a decent supply of Tungsten steel in the Alpha, FG section 556, unless you had a certain metal in mind, I can start there first.”

She opened her cockpit and placed the pad inside where her internal scanner could read it while flying. The blue glass sparkled in the cybertronian light as it slowly closed. Being that her alt mode was a Reconnaissance Fighter, the argent femme had a nice set of cameras in her jet mode. Photos would be easily obtained and quite detailed.

“ If you find you need more of us, I’ll have my secure channel open to you. And I’m glad we could be of assistance.”

Secretly, Silver was quite happy to have a chance to look around the newly acquired territory. It would save her from having to do it later under her father’s request. She turned from Scrapper to give her attention to Shrike.

“ You can take what ever position you prefer in the air. I plan to fly at various levels to get a good scan of the area. Let me know if I’m moving too fast for you and I can cut my speed down.”

With that Silverstrike transformed into her unique reflective alt mode hovering just a moment before climbing into the air. The shimmering femme opened her sensors to any hidden security measures that may have been overlooked and could cause the two fliers danger. Her initial flight path took her directly over Bonecrusher, Scavenger and Longhaul. She noted the transport designed constructicon was loaded with materials and flew by them at a lower altitude then a seeker normally takes. Silver cut her engines to half power and rotated her flaps down to cause some drag. Allowing Shrike to catch up to her. She activated the Magnetic Resonance scanner she had borrowed earlier from a previous mission.

"Let's sweep the area by 1 klick sectors. I'll scan with mag res, you follow up visually."

Gracefully Silver veered to the left to give her new companion more flying room.

Breakdown skidded and spun to a stop on the smooth floor of the landing pad. Scrambling in a panic to avoid being crushed by Motormaster. Quickly he transformed and looked around with anxiety. Megatron was here and Brakdown suspected that meant more security and more Transformers watching them.

“Hey Boss….. you think he’s got somthin big in mind fer us?”

Breakdown nodded at Megatron’s ship as he spoke. It wasn’t every orn that Megs requested the presence of his foot soldiers or even his more elite teams for that matter.

Decepticon Outpost Tau- The Skies of Tagan

Shrike didn't mind too much playing sidekick to Silver for the time being.
An odd coincidence that Shrike, too, wanted the opportunity to look over the area, but despite having no orders to do anything she put that desire aside to maintain watch over the tower incase the Autobots attacked.
Their reasons aren't the same though. Shrike's desire to evolve into the better combat machine needn't be one grand leap, and there were numerous factories here that may facilitate her evolutions.

Perhaps one would allow her to acquire better equipment? A more compact but more potent rifle? Her blueprints called for explosive launchers in her tail fins. More weapon installations of varying potencies along her body.
More of her Needler Guns, but in a larger more destructive caliber.
Extra installations of her beam cannon though smaller in scale elsewhere on her person.
Even the opportunity to articulate the armor of her abdomen so she has access to her most potent ranged weapon would suffice.
Stronger armor but light weight armors to prevent her being slowed down much more. The list would go on.
The technological level of her desired plans were not really high, they were based on assumptions of what she'd seen, and the technology of her own person.
If she had that kind of know how she would likely have put herself through evolution already.

She nods to Silver when she spoke before transforming, then Shrike transforms offering a momentary glimpse at the 580mm beam cannon, which did such great bombardment to the generators and is permanently hidden in her abdomen by the torso armor of her robot mode, before her transformed arms and legs cover it forming the blade tipped nose of the craft which resembled at closest, a gigantic red and white squid with only 4 tentacles. Indeed this would be something that could haul cargo. A shame she had below average strength.

More aesthetically speaking, her alt mode appearance in cruise mode is some blend of the aerodynamics of a Seeker and a wingless design similar to a Sweep.
A large highly maneuverable rocket.
A flying gun, nay a flying artillery piece in her assault mode which brings that cannon to bare.

It wasn't hard to confuse her for a Sweep at a distance in her cruise mode or up close for that matter as she found out before with the physical similarities obvious.

Some might believe she is a prototype of the Sweeps design based on appearances, especially the similar crest on the helmet, but she would never bring up such a topic herself.
In truth she isn't so sure herself. All she knows is that she feels inadequate compared to the Sweeps in some ways. Then again there's few she doesn't feel wholly superior to.

Before her brief post in Tyrest she was in places like Fort Scyk. Places that make Kaon look like a constant battlefield. Where most around her, but rarely herself, would plink empties nearby just to make sure their weapons still worked. Only in her most restless times would she waste her abilities on the empties, and neutrals. Just to keep her sanity. She preferred to spend her time on other constructive things to hone her talents.

There's little data on her past as far as she knows and researched, and she never inquired on her origins. All in all it's irrelevant to her.
From day one she wanted to fight. That dedication eventually paid off as she virtually, and maybe literally, fought her way out of the worst posts in the empire.

She would not likely admit it, but she even envied those drones who despite their sparkless mass production were more advanced than she in some ways, and she has desires for their technology.
But she still hated drones. She saw their purpose as a common ground between them, and that's combat, but the Drones reflected the worst side of that ground.
That's the de-spark-ification of War. Quantity over quality. Rarely average fodder to throw at a target. Disposable warriors. Pawns. Pawns of Pawns.
Even she would use them if she could, but she would at least take up a method of leadership some earthlings might call Sun Tsu-ish. She would care about them, more or less rather than let them march to their demise blindly.

It may be that she had been gifted with great luck in that her combat computer made her one of the deadliest combatants on Cybertron, or she'd quickly be replaced by a drone should her combat prowess be only average. That would truly be a nightmare. Her perceived purpose in existence to be usurped so easily by something made dime a dozen.

But back to the action.

Shrike's transformation is both simple in motion yet complex in articulation. It shows off her some of her above average agility due to heavy articulation, and likely the fact she's somewhat below average in armor with the necessity of light armor to not impede that articulation.

The only real constant of the whole transformation is the fins on her back which makes the aft end of the craft and her large skirt armor which doubled as a large articulated thruster system which heightened her overall speed and agility in both forms.

But despite the large size of her thrusters which almost reached her ankles and almost reached her shoulders they seemed horribly inefficient as Shrike hits her soon to be obvious top speed of mach 1.5 which is slow by many flyer's standards, and maybe even pitiable. Especially against the Seekers and Sweeps. And this would likely be magnified by Silver's speed advantage which dwarfs virtually everyone.

Seeing Silver's speed as she lagged behind the gray Decepticon, Shrike found yet another another burning, glaring weakness in that she is painfully slow though she has no idea that her speed is somewhat average for those who aren't Seekers or Sweeps which is cold comfort.

Perhaps the stoic war machine could feel envy and perhaps admiration in the mobility of the other femme as Silver could likely cruise many times faster than Shrike could push herself.
An engine upgrade certainly became more important and hopefully she could find herself allocated such a thing.

Some solace was taken in the potential that Shrike might have some superiority in aerial agility, but she wouldn't want to be proven wrong so she keeps it to herself, matching Silver's flight path for the most part, but not getting to close.

Even minor upgrades would be savored as a new peak of ability for her to master.
As it is she had virtually mastered her body, and hungered for more. She ardently wanted to become a stronger soldier. To transcend her limitations. Perhaps that desire would be inherent in all martial artists.

There were only two things in her processors to increase her ability to become that sweet murder machine she longed to be and those were to be taught the mystical combat arts, or to physically become stronger through technology, and either would suit her desires.

She would never want to feel like she had nowhere else to go in terms of ability. To be in a purgatory where there was nothing more for her to accomplish in terms of improving her combat ability.
Shrike knew nothing to fall back on to spend her free time on.

Ah, her perceptions of her inadequacies increased as Silver mentioned her ability to scan, even though it wasn't likely built in.
Shrike knew those infernal drones, mere DRONES, had the sensors she cold have used on this survey for materials.
Her combat computer had thought about dismantling one of the drones, or finding a dead one, if they could die being sparkless beings, and have their equipment installed into her own shell.

She spent her time visually confirming what she could, adding it to her collected data.

At the same time, despite what Shrike wanted, her combat computer took in data of her companion's abilities, and in the background of all her programs compiled battle scenarios where she were an ally, but kept in mind the potential she could be a foe, even in sparring. Tactics to defeat the mirror skinned femme cropped up like bullets in a factory. How many worked may never be known.

This wasn't unique to Silverstrike at all, mind you.
Every thing that could fight, her combat computer treated in such manner. From Sweep drones to Silverstrike, the Constructions and the Autobots she fought to Roadblock, and Scorponok. Every bot and defense she's ever seen.

It even had the audacity to plan combat tactics against even Optimus Prime and Megatron himself though her data were severely limited on those subjects having never seen either of them in person, working only on assumptions and the fact that they likely had too many advantages to fight with any sanity.
The more she knew of another being the more exacting the plans to topple them in combat. Even watching them casually added to the calculations, and pushed at her limits of combat data.

More of her mind's power had likely been dedicated to killing than most Decepticons. One day she might even surpass the greatest warriors in history, and go down in legend.
The allocations took tolls on other fields of intellect. Something that would make her somewhat depressed if she lingered on, so she enjoyed the near constant meditative mindset that kept her thoughts clear, pure, and at least on the surface, unreadable. One would be in for a surprise if they mistook that for stupidity.

Even her combat computer did not create ripples in the pool of thought staying in the background of things, buried behind the wall of hidden thought.
This mentality adds to her desire to fight. Nothing distracted her. No second guessing. War was her instinct, and she relied on that to lethal ends.

Luckily for everyone in the Decepticon army, Shrike has almost fanatical loyalty to the Decepticon cause simply because she's a soldier in their army. Drones were the limit of her animosity.
There's no desire to climb the ranks, or replace anyone in the army. There's no desire to command others unless it truly affected the immediate battle, and even then she remembers her rank.

>>Yes Ma'am.<< she replies stoically to Silver's plan to scan the area. She takes the flying space offered though she didn't really need it.
She maintains a minimum and maximum distance from Silver, which were flexible enough to not crowd the reflective Decepticon warrior, but would hopefully keep her in visual.
Her quiet obsession with updating, upgrading, and becoming more powerful stays in the shadows of her mind.

Decepticon Outpost - Landing Pad

As Clench made his presence and desire for communication with the new commander of the Tagan Heights quite known, Thunderwing paused and turned back over his shoulder.

"Yes, General?"

He referred to the former gladiator by his formal title within the Empire's military hierarchy. Though his role as leader of a small, elite commando unit was somewhat at odd with the honorific, Thunderwing preferred to stand on ceremony. It was in his design, after all.

I do hope he doesn't have any sort of...objection to Lord Megatron's appointment of me to lead here in the Heights. Thunderwing did not relish the prospect of dealing with a displeased Clench. But, at the same time, he did not fear Clench, as nearly every other Transformer did. If he does object...I shall not brook disobedience in my command. However...there is a certain amount of...freedom...due to such a powerful and talented warrior.

Thunderwing waited to hear what Clench had to say. Meanwhile, Weirdwolf simply followed his leader, cheerfully maniacal as always. Perhaps...assume command hard the way, will Clench? Shiny too armor the new commander...mettle his, time only prove will. The tracker wasn't sure what he thought of the Valckastan aristocrat.

Of course, Weirdwolf was rarely sure what he thought, period.

The door of Megatron’s shuttle slid open and Scorponok walked out. The Decepticon supreme commander had decided to save time as best as possible and gave the Decepticon general a briefing while they awaited the arrival of the rest of the Stunticons. To Megatron’s slight annoyance he was able to complete the briefing and give Scorponok his new orders in the time it took for the Stunticons to all arrive.

Scorponok exited the shuttle and looked at the gathered Stunticons. “Board the shuttle. You leave for Polyhex immediately. You will be given a full briefing on arrival.” With Megatron’s last orders given, Scorponok transformed into his airborne mode and rocketed off from the Heights. He had his own orders and his lab in Kaon awaited him. He already had the names of more test subjects in mind. Soon there would be more ‘Pretenders’ in the Decepticon army.

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

Hook connected a final wire and then stood up, looking around for Scrapper to find out what needed repairing next. Quickly finding him, Hook cried out.

"Hey, Boss-Bot! All done here, what next?" Hook cried to Scrapper.

Waiting for Scrapper's reply, a distressing thought crossed Hook's mind. Did I disconnect that last wire of Triggerhappy's? I think i did... slag'

Deceptibase Tau - Curtain Wall

And sure enough, over by the curtain wall, a certain Decepticon was reactivating from a forced stasis lock. Triggerhappy put a hand on his head as he slowly came back to life.

"Fragging Constructicons. Just wait till I catch up to them... wherever they are by now... once I find them they'll be the ones in need of repairs! Yeah! When I catch up to them I'm gonna..."

And so Triggerhappy continued as he slowly stood up, before falling straight back down again.

"Aagh! Hook must have done more of a number on me than I thought." Triggerhappy said as he moved his hand across the top of his head, resting on a rather large dent created by Hook's earlier kick whilst placing Triggerhappy in stasis lock.

"That does it, now when I catch up to those frackin' Constructicons, I'm gonna..." And so began another, more violent rant from Triggerhappy as he once more stood up, this time managing to stay upright.

(ooc. Anyone have anything useful for Triggerhappy to do? Otherwise, he's pretty much just going to wander around for a while)

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

Scrapper, now finished with his inspection of the Autobot systems, nodded at Hook, then crossed over to the circuit breakers on the wall nearby. Flipping the switches, an audible hum came from the lower room where Hook had come from, and the power gauges moved from red to green. Emergency lighting throughout the base brightened to full, and those computers and monitor that were still intact blinked back to life.

"93% secondary power, excellent. Now, Hook, we finish on this floor by rebuilding several of the primary generators." He handed Mixmaster, now full of waste metal and spicy circuitry, a datapad. "Here's my new design for the generators, it'll be compatible with the Autobot power grids but won't be as easy to damag as these things. We'll build 4 or 5 generators to make a start until more materials are available, then we'll move to the defense grids."

"Oh, and if you have leftover circuitry, I need more datapads. I seem to be running low on them."

Curtain Wall

"Slowpokes!!" Bonecrusher cried back at Long Haul and Scavenger as he reached the curtain wall. Scavenger was still half a megamile behind, struggling with his load, unused to lifting. Long Haul was doing much better, but was far more burdened than any of the others.
Bonecrusher dropped his load, the blocks tumbling along the ground in nothing resembling order, and Bonecrusher looked around for somewhere to sit, determined to rest his aft until the rest of his team got here: The Pit he was going to start without them. As he looked, he saw Triggerhappy as he was getting.

"HEY!!! Ain't you supposed to be asleep, Flyboy? I didn't cart your aft over there just so you could take a 5-breem power nap!!"

Motormaster had began to get nervous with Wildrider and Drag Strip taking their time. He did not show it. He couldn't. To allow others to find any weakness in him was unthinkable. But even for a mechanoid as powerful as Motormaster was, angering Megatron was not an option. He merely nodded as an acknowledment after Scorponok finished giving him instructions, swallowing his pride. He was boiling with rage and in a situation where he couldn't break loose.

When Wildrider arrived with Drag Strip on tow, the malevolent glare Motormaster threw at them told everything. The duo would feel it in their hides. Their lack of speed in responding to his orders had compromised Motormaster's own position under the optics of the only transformer he truely looked up to. He would remember this. They were going to suffer.

Trusting that at least Breakdown would be smart enough to run into Megatron's shuttle as fast as he could, Motormaster planted his fist hard against Wildrider's cranium and span around quickly to grab Drag Strip by throat. With his powerful digits clenched around the throat of the weaker Decepticon, Motormaster kneeled down and grabbed the unconcious form of Wildrider and threw his limp body over his shoulder. Without saying a word, the notorious leader of the Stunticons marched into the shuttle where Megatron was waiting with Wildrider hanging on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and Drag Strip being dragged brutally in with him.

With the shuttle door closing behind him, Motormaster threw Drag Strip to the floor and straightened out, saluting to the leader of the Decepticons to his best ability. "Lord Megatron! Stunticons report for duty!"

Deceptibase Tau - Leaving Landing Pad

Clench had never really liked Thunderwing. The warlord of Tyrest had been the heir of long line of aristocrats commanding the citadel of Valckasta when the war had began. Why Thunderwing had chosen Decepticons over Autobots was something Clench had never really had time to find out. Not that he believed Thunderwing would even speak of it to him if to anyone. He couldn't deny Thunderwing's achievements though. For someone who didn't quite have the power the rest of upper echelon of Decepticons commanded, Thunderwing had certainly got far. Regardless, Megatron himself had tasked Thunderwing to act as the overseer of Tagan Heights and quite frankly Clench had no intention to interfere with the politics.

While Clench had wanted Thunderwing's attention, he had no intention to bellow his information for everybody's audiosensors. Hence he did not speak until facing the smaller Decepticon face to face. Or rather towering over the smaller Decepticon that barely reached to his shoulders.

"We have Autobots incoming. LSC. Grimlock has returned to Cybertron. Left Autobase Prime sometime ago towards Nova Cronum. He's a slagging dull stone. Uraya. Going for his old grounds. We are the likely target." Clench grunted, his optics flashing eeriely.

"If you want to check the dataminer we have the contact right here." The large Decepticon added, nodding slightly towards Mindwipe.

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Leaving Landing Pad

Although Thunderwing showed no outward sign, but Clench's talk of the Lightning Strike Coalition concerned the Valckastan greatly. The Tagan Heights were far from ready to meet an assault. Particularly one with the brutish Grimlock at its head. So the news that one of the enemy's most vaunted units had not only reformed, but likely intended to attack, was displeasing. To say the least.

Before the aristocrat could inquire as to the source of this intelligence, Clench answered for him. Of course, the Warlord mused discontentedly. I should have known. His optics fearlessly met those of Mindwipe.

It was no secret that Thunderwing was not fond of Scorponok's infamous creations. They were erratic, odd, and extremely gauche. Little more than mechannibals, in his mind. Unfortunately, they were also very accomplished in their field. So he was forced to (grudgingly) accept their existence.

Mindwipe was, of course, a far harder download for him to accept than the others. The sycophantic lunatic had long been shrapnel in his side. The shrikebat vigorously guarded Scorponok's secrets, which would have been Thunderwing's long ago without such interference.

And then there was the issue of the detestable parasite's influence on his heir. The would-be necromancer tainted Silverstrike's Valckastan purity with his questionable 'teachings'. Furthermore, he was certain Mindwipe was using his hypnotic powers to slowly turn the femme against him. The indignity! Using his own daughter as a pawn against him. It was base.

Nevertheless, if there was one aspect of Mindwipe he could find no fault in, it was his skill as a spymaster. The warlord had little doubt that his information was accurate. And even less desire to converse with the apostate.

"That will not be necessary, General. I know that you would not have brought this to my attention unless you were satisfied with its veracity."

It took little time for the Valckastan to decide how best to use this strategic windfall. "General," he continued. "The Lightning Strike Coalition represents the single greatest threat to our presence here. I want their ship intercepted before they reach Uraya. Destroy them if you can. But they MUST be delayed. We require time to prepare a proper welcome for them here in Tagan. You and your unit will buy us that time."

He considered for a moment. While there was no lack of firepower in Clench's unit, they lacked any real dedicated fliers. Usually, the Autobots' own lack of flight would mitigate such a thing, but the shuttle complicated matters. Clench would benefit from the addition of a few air warriors. "In additon to your own team, take Silverstike, Shrike, and Triggerhappy with you. Prepare to depart for the Border Regions immediately."

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Leaving Landing Pad

Mindwipe seethed silently as his presence was pointedly ignored by Thunderwing. The pompous fool was baiting him, he knew it. But now was no time to be feuding with the City Commander. Particularly not with Clench so near at hand. But he was a patient mech. He could bide his time.

The hypnotist barely hid his distaste as the Warlord issued his commands. By Unicron's teeth! Must he pontificate so? Can he not...simply issue an order without turning it into a soliloquy?!

The shrikebat perked up at the mention of Silverstrike. The journey to Uraya was long. The Dauntless' trip would be longer still. There would be ample time, once they were in position, to speak to the argent femme in earnest. This is...ideal, he thought smugly. Yes. Detached duty...far from the auditory receptors of her wretched patron.

He gazed off in the distance, recalling a visual of the femme in question. Soon...My Shining One. Yes.

Megatron's Ship

Breakdown skidded onto the shuttle before Motormaster had even noticed. He winced as he watched his Boss load the rest of the team. This would not be a protoform picnic. Megatron on one side and Motormaster on the other what an unhappy sandwich. He stared at the unmoving form of Drag Strip as the shuttle door closed. With a strained sigh Breakdown sat with much tension awaiting their landing in Polyhex.

Tagan Warehouse and Storage Area

The iridescent reconnaissance jet took her time covering the area leading to their destination. The further they flew from the central buildings the less severe the damage appeared to be. Silverstrike allowed her cameras to click and started a surveillance recording in video feed as she proceeded. The lights of the various buildings were only half lit. She assumed this was because the generators had been damaged.

Silver climbed higher and focused her scanners on the borderlines of their newly acquired outpost. They were basic Autobot design the argent flier was not impressed. The set up the Autobots had left behind were way below Decepticon standards. She would need to update Thunderwing of this when she returned. The shining femme was unaware of Shrike’s thoughts and continued taking photos of the damage. Dipping her wing she turned at a sharp impossible angle following the route on the data pad.

The mag res scanner buzzed as Silverstrike took a low pass at the buildings on the first go by she detected nothing. Flipping around with sickening agility she turned back. Her speed cut to almost nothing, on the second pass the mirror like femme transformed and landed lightly. Her optics searched the well-kept warehouses. The battle had not touched them, their sturdy resilience almost inviting. She approached the door of the building with the strongest reading. To her subtle surprise there was a security lock denying her access. Silver stared at it a moment, she could have tried to give it random codes, or she could attempt to cut it open with her sword but……

With movement far faster than most Transformers could follow with their sensors. Silver kicked the door, by “instinct” instilled from vorns of intense martial arts training the femme desecrated the obstacle with one well placed blow. She took a single step back an astrosecond before the door lay at her feet.

Silverstrike stepped casually over the door and into the spacious unit. The Steel was stacked neatly and showed organization. On the wall a computer lay dormant, its look hinted at its purpose as a warehouse inventory keeper. There was also a menagerie of off lined worker drones and equipment. She smiled to herself, ~looks like Scrapper hit the jackpot.~ The silver female could care less about taking credit for the find. The less attention she received the better. She had other things to do with out worrying over politics.

>>Shrike, I’ve found the Steel. Come have a look.<<

<< Scrapper, material location confirmed. Its in wonderful condition and the storage units in the area seem to be more or less unharmed. I would guess you will have most of what you require here in impeccable storage conditions.>>

Clench had always been a transformer of action. He left organizing and planning for others but did not shy a way from giving tactical input if he felt like it. After all, he hadn't been named a general for nothing even if he usually did not act like one. Formalities were not among his virtues either but he knew when they were needed. With Thunderwing, he was willing to take the risk to ignore the protocol the aristocrat loved by being blunt with the warlord.

"I will delay the LSC, destroy their shuttle and them with it if I can. But even I am not going to go against the Dynobots and rest of Lightning Strike Coalition outnumbered and on their terms. If my position gets compromised, I will pull out."

Leaning in towards Thunderwing, Clench brought his masked face close to the warlord's. It was an ancient gesture of defiance and intimidation or just making sure one was dead serious. And it usually worked well for a Decepticon like Clench. This time it was not done out of spite though, for what he said was not meant as threat but as a statement.

"And you'd better be prepared for that."

Tagan Heights had to be ready soon if the Decepticons wanted to keep it. Grimlock would show no mercy. Nor would he for that matter.

Straightening out, Clench turned towards Mindwipe and nodded. "Make the call. I want the troops promised to me ready to leave in 4 kliks."

Leaving Mindwipe and Thunderwing, Clench began marching towards his gunship and Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher who were loitering nearby. "Weirdwolf! Prepare the Longshot! We have big game to hunt! Game armed to the teeth!"

Decepticon Outpost - Landing Pad

"On the hunt is!"

Weirdwolf snarled with delight as he turned back toward the Longshot. The Decepticon commandos were getting back on their ship just as quickly as they had gotten off, it seemed, but this was just fine with the tracker. The sooner they left the confines of the Outpost, the sooner they would sink their fangs into some Autobot hides. He veritably bounded up the assault ship's boarding ramp and headed for the cockpit to fire up the engines and weapons systems.

Today die...will Autobots!

As Clench and the others made ready to leave, Roadblock returned from his brief inspection of the Constructicons' efforts to rebuild the Heights' once-formidable defenses. He had been somewhat pleased with the progress he had seen, but as far as the ground forces commander was concerned, the defenses couldn't be rebuilt quickly enough.

The 'Bots'll be back, an' plenty soon... Roadblock had not arrived in time to hear Mindwipe's report, but had he, the ground forces commander would have found his notion validated. The purple-and-black Pretender's baleful silver optics settled on Thunderwing as he approached. Dutifully, Roadblock saluted the new commander of the Heights - but not before letting fly a large blob of fouled transmission fluid from his vocalizer. The gobbet of brownish scum landed not far from Thunderwing's feet.

Pretty mech could use ta git scuffed up a bit. Too shiny an' new by half. Can't hardly believe Megatron put this overpriced can o' high-grade in charge o' the Heights... The ground forces commander was rarely wrong, but this time he had been quite a ways off the mark. He had expected to be placed in command of the city-state following Scorponok's departure, but instead, the Valckastan seemed to have been imported for just that purpose. Makes sense fer a Valckastan fairy-bot like him...ta just inherit somethin' instead o' fightin' an' bleedin' coolant ta git it.

"Reportin'," he growled, a smidgen of fouled fluid dripping from the corner of his vocalizer before he spat another gob to the ground. "Scrapper's got rebuildin' under control. Put him ta that before ya even got here."

The Pretender was curious to see what task the Valckastan would put him to - or attempt to put him to, anyway.

Deceptibase Tau - Power Generators

"There, there we go, got your diodes, and your alternators, and your your your turbofans, and..."
"We don't need a list, Mixmaster, just the parts." Scrapper didn't even look up from the jigsaw puzzle that was the first of the repairable generators. As the call from Silverstrike came in, he simply nudged to one side to give Hook more room.
>>Excellent. I'll notify Scavenger so he can organise pickup.<< Scrapper paused a moment and considered how he was delegating command of a subsection of Constructicons to a mech whom many considered the lowliest of his team. But then, one really didn't want to give command to Bonecrusher. Long Haul would probably resent being given command of a mission that involved more lifting on his part. And Scavenger was the team's dedicated resource locator.
>>The next priority would be electrical, electronic and weapons components to rebuild the Defense Grid. It'd save a massive amount of time over making them from the raw stuff. Once again, thank you.<<

Still in Industrial Complex A5

"Wait....huff...wait up guys, I....ughf....just need....an astro...." If it had been possible for Scavenger's alt mode to collapse to the ground, he would have done so. Shovel's made for sniffing and digging, not for haulage. Dammit 'Crusher, you, you Pitspawn showoff... Even Long Haul was off in the distance, barely visible, by now.

>>Scrapper here, friendly units have confirmed metal stocks at grid location A4-67B3. Move team to that location ASAP to retrieve materials. Make sure to get extra, metal'll need to go around.<<
>>...ugh, yeah...'ll get right on that...in a breem....gonna break my shovel off at this rate...<<
>>Not here for your sob stories Scavenger, either you break your arm off getting the job done or Roadblock will do it for you.<<
>>Right, right...<<

Tagan Height- The Warehouse District

Shrike followed Silver as best she could, performing a few tight turns of her own, once or twice turning on a dime since her thruster systems retained the articulation of her robot form all in an effort to keep up.

She surveyed the area hoping to spot a working weapons factory as she learned the lay of the land. She'd need to feed in the data of her weapons so they could be made to her specs. Odds are there would be only low grade items if there we any left in the factories. The Autobots were not known for their weapons technology. And then there's compatibility issued.

Shrike changed direction in an ultra tight turn that would have sheered typical flyers to pieces if they could even try it. She essentially hovered, flipped her main body over on the spot with her thrusters steadying her, then flew after Silver vectoring her thrusters and rolling in mid air to get upright. Her aerial agility is simply due to the fact of her construction. Too bad she lacks the speed.

Shrike was impressed at he kick delivered by Silver. Well, the speed of it. Flashy and simple at the same time. She could barely follow it. But all that data went into her combat computer. Memorized, picked apart. A near instant study of the abilities of Silver's leg, the kick style, and an update of assumed abilities.
And preparation is key. A necessity to survive in this war.

>>Affirmative. Nice kick, by the way.<< she replies genuinely complimenting via the radio, then she begins a descent straight down in a controlled hover that any helicopter type vehicle would be proud of, then transforms, landing gracefully, then walks into the warehouse.

Shrike wasn't one to truly envy anyone's fighting ability, despite envying so many abilities. Certainly she wants to improve, and she does by the moment. Certainly there are betters. But there's only so much one body can do without spiritual training or up grades. And she's virtually at that point now. She can reach points of safe over clocking, and push herself into the red line and sustain it without breaking down for a while, and even use transformation articulation to her advantage, but that is for times of dire need. Still, she can only do so much. That limit was eating at her.
Still, maybe she'll luck out and find ways to improve.

She looked around seeing only the main objective, the steel, and none of her side objectives. She were almost revolted that there wasn't even an armed security drone here. Then again she didn't have the tools to refit herself anyhow. Ah, to have the idea but no the means to follow through.
"Do you think we should take some steel with us on our return trip?" she asks Silver casually. "Granted it won't be much, but unless they give new orders it would be a shame to return empty handed."

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Landing Pad - Thunderwing

Thunderwing met Clench's stare. The taller mech's great stature was no more frightening to him than his vaunted prowess in battle. Prowess he himself has seen firsthand. He had won quite a few credits off Clench's skills in those bygone days.

But those days were dust and memories now. And in this time, in this place, Thunderwing of Valckasta was lord and master of all he surveyed. Any other subordinate would have faced severe consequences for speaking to him thus. However, the warlord stayed his hand for two very important reasons.

The first, his position here in Tagan was unstable enough without making an enemy of the commando. The second, Clench was absolutely right. He would have done exactly the same thing, in his place. So for now, he would forget the onetime champion's impertinence.

"I will perform my duties General. Just as you will perform yours," he returned icily as the warrior turned to leave.

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Landing Pad - Mindwipe

"By your command...General," Mindwipe drawled. He suppressed a chuckle as his CO spoke his mind to their pompous superior. He was just as eager for the hunt as his brethren. The fact that his prized protegee would be by his side was simply a bonus.

At his mental command, the hypnotist's powerful transmitters crackled to life. <<Attention...Shrike, Silverstrike, Triggerhappy. Report to General Clench's transport at Landing pad one for...immediate departure. Yes.>>

With a curt bow to the City Commander, and another to his General, the shrikebat withdrew to the Longshot to prepare.

Decepticon Outpost Tau - Landing Pad - Thunderwing

Thunderwing had been about to summon Roadblock when the Ground Forces Commander announced his presence in his typically vulgar fashion. The disrespect in his words spoke volumes. So the test subject thinks this command should be his, does he? We shall see about that.

"Clench and his unit leave to waylay the Lightning Stike Coalition," the Valckastan informed the groundpounder, cutting straight to business. "Grimlock and his thugs have returned, and are on their way back to Uraya. It is clear they will strike the Heights soon. And very likely, repeatedly, judging from Grimlock's strategies of old."

"I want a full status report, Commander. As well as your assessment as to the best manner to repel such an attack in our current state."

Decepticon Outpost

Silverstrike halted her movement as Scrapepr’s reply came through. Shrike had a good idea with bringing some steel along but Scrapper waned them to look for other materials. The constructicon had asked them to find needed electronic items and weapons components to rebuild the Defense Grid. She opened a channel to reply.

<< Excellent we’ll star................>>

Silver stopped as Mindwipe’s voice filled her receptors, well at least now she wouldn’t need to request to assist the ex-arena boss. She was now under orders to do so. The silver seeker cast a quick glance at Shrike who was also ordered to accompany the commando team. Silver nodded for Shrike to transform and start without her. The argent female flier continued her transmission to Scrapper.

<<Scrapper, we’ve been assigned a mission. I’m sending you all the data you requested right now. You’ll find the data pad at the main building waiting for you. I have some info to support a theory that you’ll find the other components in the third warehouse in this sector.>>

It took only a few astroseconds to transmit her data to the lead constructicon. She was alone for the moment and allowed her thoughts to reflect on Thunderwing. The only possible explanation was he had ordered Clench to take her on. She opened a private channel to Mindwipe.

<<Master Mindwipe, is there something I should know? This is not usual protocol for us.>>

She took to the air and headed straight to base of operations. The silver angel landed with the grace of a dancer. Confidently she entered the main building with a bright expression on her face. Turning towards the control council she placed the data pad down for Scrapper to retrieve later.

Silver entered the landing pad and approached Thunderwing who was standing near Roadblock. She saluted him and quietly placed a data record on the table by him. It contained all the recordings of the borders she had made on her flight. Then she turned away and made her way onto the Longshot. She was delighted to see her mentor, but could feel the tension in the air, truthfully she was surprised Thunderwing would allow her to go on a mission with the shreekbat at all.

Once aboard the Longshot, Silver took a seat beside the Hypnotist. She felt if he had more to tell her he could do it easier if she was sitting beside him.
