...it still just doesn't make logical sense to me, and I don't agree with it or the reissue decision, but I respect that you do your research and after sleeping on it I've become more conscious of the fact that continuing to argue about this doesn't...matter, since it won't stop the Arcee reissue from happening and I don't think either of us are going to change our minds anytime soon.william-james88 wrote:Elita 1 and Arcee have the same market price right now. So regardless of your reasoning why one would have a higher demand, the selling prices show that it's the same. Both sell at retail prices, both would sell if put on shelves right now. Plus, the fact that Arcee was a wide release (in theory) would mean that there was more of that toy produced than Elita 1. So if the market value is the same and there are more Arcees out there, then demand for Arcee is even greater than demand for Elita since to each the same price the greater supply has to meet a greater demand.
There's high prices for both of Fixit's toys though, because there's only 2 of them and he was a main character on the show.william-james88 wrote:That's the same reason 1 step fixit from RID sells for $50. I am certain it's not collectors paying those prices on e-bay.
Couldn't possibly remember that because I didn't know that, that's equally irritating. Didn't something happen where the actually accurate Bee was super hard to find though because it didn't come until wave 3? People here have mentioned the later waves of TLK product had terrible distribution, and I feel like that would skew things because parents are gonna buy Bees no matter what, it seems like.william-james88 wrote:And remember, the best selling 2017 TF toy was this overpriced non accurate bumblebee redeco which no collector wanted in their collection:
Not really sure where else to go for info at this point though? Ebay prices CAN be accurate, but you have to completely disregard scalpers for a LOT of figures, and I don't exactly have a bunch of kids and parents around to interview about their taste/purchasing history regarding TF figures.william-james88 wrote:We are not the target audience for any of this so consulting within our circles is not the way to assess demand.

Now I'm not talking about large scale playsets like the Titan Class Ark we are getting. But basically non Transformable display pieces (think something along the lines of people who like to display ships from Star Wars & Star Trek), maybe in the $20-$30 price range 6-10 inches long with some basic lights/sounds and a stand for each one.
I know after The Ark, most of the Autobot shuttles start to look similar. But getting toys of The Nemesis, Victory, and Revenge would be kind of like Having The Enterprise, Enterprise A, and D that many collectors like to have. But I'd defintely think it would be cool to have any and all ships. Even non Transformable versions of Omega Supreme and Skylynx in their Alt modes would be kind of cool to include in such a collection.

Would be a great idea to license out, honestly. They made a small start with that in the Titanium Series together with Galoob:

o.supreme wrote:While Tidal Wave was initially seen as a Giant in his first couple appearances in ship mode, and on the PS2 game, the majority of his time on screen in Armada & Energon was just as a bigger-than-average bot, nowhere near as large as Omega Supreme or any other Titan.

I wasn't aiming that at you, more a generalisation that we typically care a lot more than they do.
Besides, I want this guy - in Commander Class:
Energon Ultra Magnus - Another one very apt for this thread.
o.supreme wrote:As a fan of combiners, that is something I miss more about the Armada Toys. Although it was pretty hulking and impractical, I loved displaying Optimus along with Jetfire and Overload all together. Same with Megatron & Tidal Wave (I wondered if he could ever have a 3rd component, but where would it go) .
Energon Optimus Prime and Omega Supreme was fun. I even (impractically) added Wing Saber to them as well.
I never got any toys from Cybertron, but I heard that because of the way they combined, you could not have both the Savage Claw and Wing Saber on Prime at the same time...or am I incorrect on that? I'd like to think somehow you could make it work...
