First line, show characters.
Second line, other toyline characters.
Third line, Cybertronian modes.

That third BW line would be amazing.
Especially for the characters that were never seen nor done before like Cybertronian forms and Trans-Tech.

Best part of all with Trans Tech is that they already have some designs to work off though they might want to fiddle with some like Megatron as his Trans Tech design went on to influence Armada Megs and Trans Tech Cheetor virtually became Animated Blurr. Though I'm sure there is more examples of that

Honestly I would not mind if a Beast Wars line ditched the flesy organic exterior and made the characters fit more with the GEEWUN mechanimals of old. Of course, maybe I'm biased because I think Transmetals were the high point of the line.

I think the new BW movie will take care of that. But Forged to Fight has some great designs for Scorponok, Primal, and Dinobot.

I'll only believe they're doing a beast wars movie when the trailer drops as so far there's only been talk on that front, nothing more.

Personally I love the flesh disguises for the animal alts.

I like either, I'm just saying a 'Beast Wars that fit within CHUG' is something I would also be fine because I'm a big Transmetals fan.

Here's something I think would be cool but would probably never get made: An Apex Optimus/God Ginrai set... in G2 Optimus colors.

And something I would love to no end but which is never getting made is a playset of the Autobot base from Cybertron.

A Select repaint would be easy enough.

But that playset? Yup. Never. They tried playsets in the Prime line for the Legion/legend scale and they failed.

Also as much as I'd love it, I doubt we'd ever see a line completely free from G1 influence in some regard as they'd reuse names to keep hold of trademarks.

Not necessarily based on Heart of Steel, but I'd really want to see a STEAMPUNK Transformers line.

The SDCC and Legends versions had a sword, and it's easy enough to get a 3P or surplus HasTak sword online. And he's quite articulated.

As ZeroWolf said, it's only been four years since we got the retooled-from-Metroplex Fort Max, so a fresh crack at him will probably take more time.

In the mean time, it would be nice if 3P would stop slacking off on upgrades. Replacement lower legs, or at least a craftsman kit to modify the existing legs, would be the most important step they could take,

It's a lot to ask for, I know... But hey, at least we know we'll never get it.

I was thinking a trilogy with a primary focus on Beast Wars, the Unicron Trilogy, and IDW, so they could still work in some names from G1, just for different versions of the characters (or different characters altogether).

Hey, I got some more toys that HasTak will never make. Full, RiD Warrior sized, Rescue Bots. And if they ever do a Commander-sized Tidal Wave, I would love a Sins of the Wreckers version, going from blue whale to tank to one of the most under-used characters in TF history.

I think Rescue Bots and other characters introduced in different shows would make great fodder for retool/pretools to fill a CHUG line while also adding variety. Like, say, a Bulkhead retooled from a new Cenerations Roadbuster.

All of this make me think about another trilogy that would be totally awesome appart Beast Wars.

TRANSFORMERS MULTIVERSE

First rule: G1/Classic forms are banned. Appart Unicron. Because Unicron transcend time and rules.

Second rule: No repeating characters within a chapter of the trilogy but they can come back for other chapters.

Third rule: Take all the cartoon shows AND the comics that ever existed (appart G1) and put them in a story that make the and facing the UNICRON threat.

For the first chapter, Unicron would only be "background noise" and the and would duke it out as usual. You could have Optimus from Prime VS multi-changer-dragon Megatron from RiD. Bulkhead from Animated VS Starscream from Armada. Bumblebee from Cyberverse VS Rampage from Beast wars (BW characters scale readjusted to be of the same average size as the other bots).

For the second chapter we would see another Optimus from Dreamwave's War Within VS Megatron from IDW's Heart of Steel. And so on for the other characters. One interesting side story would be Armada Starscream (who is basically a noble knight) confronting the sneaky and coward Starscream from Prime. But then, NEUTRAL characters show up. Some vehicons and drones from Prime, Beast Machine, and some others show up and Unicron's presence is looming closer.

Third and final chapter, yet another Optimus and Megs show up from some other universe (why not Energon VS Activision's War for Cybertron) along other characters that were never remade before. More "neutrals" show up and Unicron is becoming a clear threat for the whole universe, forcing the and into a truce to fight the common ennemy. The line would conclude by releasing a titan class Unicron that may be ironically better designed than the Haslab one.

So, what do you guys think about this concept?

...considering you're describing what I THOUGHT was supposed to be the main idea behind/whole point of Generations before it became blatantly clear that it's really just Generation singular in recent years, of course I'm down for this, that would be solid (and those rules you put forth would fix my exact issue with the repeats in the current trilogy).

Interesting pitch, aside from the overuse of Megatron & Prime* and the incredibly naff trope of bitter enemies "uniting to fight a common foe". The latter comes from the fact that most TF media hasn't really portrayed this war as hostile as it would have been.
WW 2 lasted less than 10 years yet fostered bitterness, recriminations and resentment that endured for decades. Times that by Four Million Years and add to the fact it was a Civil War, which is even more internally divisive. This is why any story, such as IDWverse's "peace" completely misses the mark.

*This, in contrast to the thread, being someone HasTak will ALWAYS make

To be fair, kids will make that war be far more interesting then whatever fiction is used to justify the toy being in the line. Toys first remember.
