Picked up Masterverse King Grayskull at Target Tuesday morning. Haven't opened him yet, but I love the presentation in the box with his cape spread out.
Also found some new Naruto figures at Target in the collectors section from Bandai, they're in the style of the $10 Dragonball Z figures and priced the same. They just had Naruto and Kakashi, both have wonky shoulders on these needle thin exposed joints, really not a great look. Otherwise they're well articulated and nicely painted.

Buying for two gets expensive, especially when the stuff is probably nicer than what I picked up for myself.

Well I won't lie and I'll try not to go into a rant either. I bought this for personal reasons more than I wanted it and I should have wanted it a lot more than I did.
The failings are semi apparent. High rrp (£60+ often found on sale for £35 to £40 and I'd suggest it's worth less) at what is essentially aimed at collectors rather than kids. The packaging and the way the playmobil figures are in box screams collectors, the lack of bullet holes on the logo and no guns for the figures screams for kids.
Now add on to the fact of the lower priced (say £35) playmobil ghostbusters with lights and sounds that are amazing to a box that tries to con the customer into thinking they are getting a toy with lights. No, no you are not. Does it play the ateam song, no it does not. Does it come with the fifth A-team member, no it does not (gonna have to go buy a female figure hey ho *there is even FIVE seats in the van).
For £70 to £80 could it have come with a jeep and lynch.. The price of non licenced playmobil, probably so. The van isn't even gmx licensed so why not.
Is there anything else I could complain about? Yeagh the lack of plastic windows in the rear of the van. Seriously this is not worth more than the ecto 1. Why not throw in some reversable armor plating for ba to weld on (could maybe even have bullet holes in it. Go the obscure root of including first Face and force people to buy the corvette for real Face and Amy (they did that with the non original scooby doo van, so why not here) Such a weird use of the licence and toy.
There is a fair few awesome things about it, murdocks sock puppet being no. 1. Fortunately K. I. T. T looks to be everything I would want so my retro playmobil is nearing done (condor man would be way too obscure :p).
Edit: the top lights look really cheap, they should have been cthru plastic and their isn't even any molding/sculpting for the front doors even if they aren't going to be openable they should still be there.
Worth it to go next to these thunderbird look alike tho haha

I found something neat and random at Walmart.ca.
A 1/7 figure of some original anime style character, Magical Girl Lily Star. As you can see, she's quite.... detailed. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
What surprised me first was her price. Below 100$can with free shipping and NO TAXES. Then the huge size of her box. Then the fact that she's pure HEAVY resin, not vinyl.
I'm glad for this surprise find!

Got something rather special in today- Soul of Chogokin GX-24R Tetsujin 28! That's right, the ancestor of all anime robots!

He's REALLY nice. Almost entirely die-cast, so he's incredibly dense, and surprisingly poseable considering the design. Also the blue paintjob this version has (inspired by the manga covers) is really swish. Definitely worth the £130 I spent.
As a side note, if you haven't watched the 2004 version of Tetsujin 28 by Yasuhiro Imagawa, do so. It's incredible.

Liking that tetsujin.
Royal mail man said I deliver you a message and slapped me. Okay, maybe that didn't happen but it will def happen to my miss O'Neil figure now. Playing a slow long over due catch up with movie tmnt and some toon tmnt so I don't have to catch up as much. Nah, I'm always going to behind on these things, which ever way I do it.
Neca really knows how to fill their boxes for these. Muckman left keg is really loose straight out of the box though and I feel like I should have stuck with my thoughts of just getting the Super7 version. It's one of those toon designs where the original playmates toy design was vastly superior but at £23 compared to £55 it will do for the display. With a darker wash and a bit less toon look he'd probably be great with universal monsters or just as he is next to Toxie. I'd recommend super7s over this one in all tho.
Unlike muckman I never had the original toys so I've no nostalgia for anthrax and scumbag. For £40 they seem well worth it and after I got the Rock soldier commanders (traag and the other guy) which I wasn't keen on the look of but look amazing next to kraang, I'm thinking the same will go for these guys as shredders mutant army. Toon accuracy, character design and all that, I think antrax would have been better being a different main color (red or brown) with a black executioners hood but can't change what was.

Now, years ago, when working in Retail. I got really into Marvel Legends. The pinnacle of my collection being the iconic (and better than HasLab's overpriced chunk of plastic) BAF Sentinel. But I stopped collecting and basically from reviews of Hasbro's current output of the ML line. I was happy to leave it.

Now I'm not saying I'm restarting my Marvel Legends collection. But the former was immediately preordered and the latter, should be here at the weekend.

Probably some of the 5 points retro figure collectors picking up that Apocalypse too
puny sentinels.
I've been tempted with the ML animated style xmen and retro packaging but I've just been revisited by a hundred or so old toybiz figures and its a no. Not recollecting stuff at todays prices and I'm only slightly a bit more mindful of space. I cant beleive not my street fighter rogues heads snapped when she has to still be my favorite figure of her.

Got my toy biz one with all three of his heads some how
(good, evil, wolvie) I really liked him in the show so he was probably one of the first I got. ML still bugs me on scale with some body reuses for characters that should have some size differences. That and figures that arent pinless when they have arm details etc.
Also actually got a fathers day gift this year that they ate stood on, or maybe its a thanks for storing figures that I passed on haha

As a kid, I didn't even know this figure existed...
I'm not really interested in the TAS redecos (beyond apocalypse). But nice to see Morph lives again. Beyond his AoA counterpart. Even if he is just the Cyclops mould with two new heads.

Ahhh, I thought the cyclops head lying around was from a damaged figure. I have all four woooop.
*I only ever saw him once otherwise he would have been bought in duplicate to have the xmen in the same uniform. Would just have hunched wolvie over.

The thing to remember. Cyclops figures had a little bulb in the head, for his visor. So there was no neck swivel.
For the curious, wondering about the Fleer Card behind Morph:

"X-Treme". With a name like that, he just screams 90's chic

yeagh some of the early x-men figures were pretty rough, especially the mass reusing of phoenix for every female - or it felt like it. The xmen vs street fighter figures were pretty darn nice (and puts the upcoming tmnt vs sf figures to shame). I even had the first apocalypse figure (must be another box visiting me at some point over the weekend) and that was pretty dire.

This was the last one:

He was the weirdest one I had.

^I'm really tempted by this line. As soon as I see a New Adventures design among them, I might give into that temptation.
They veered away from the comic book colours and proportions for a while. That was a bit of a turn off. They are "Super"heroes/villains. They should physically look the part. Also Toy Biz seemed to put a lot more effort into the Marvel Legends line that Hasbro does. Especially when it comes to paint apps. But, as you say, Hasbro are improving.
I did notice the BAF for Sauron not too long ago. He piqued my interest. However, much like the best BAF's, it is annoying when I don't want the line that comes with them.
