Anyone here know if Gigastorm’s full-tilt redeco Gigascouter is blue or purple? Same goes for the corresponding accents on Gigastorm himself. Thanks!

Purple. But a more bluish purple than that used on Trypticon. And, compared to the original Trypticon, also darker:

I've got Bugbite coming in the post soon (woooo!). However, I have an idea for customizing him to make him a bit more interesting which will hopefully be a bit easier than the ricer tribal tattoos whilst also giving him a good place in my collection (and stopping me from having to spend out on the Netflix figure)- I'm going to make him into "Undercover Police" Bumblebee!

Inspired in part by the old Animated Activator, and in part just by the fact I like police cars and it'd be minimal work. He'll likely have a standard Autobot insignia unless I can find the Elite Guard symbol in sticker/transfer form. He will also have a little police light and his guns will be repainted, but I couldn't be bothered to do that in GIMP.
Tempted to add a bit of yellow to him somewhere only visible in 'bot mode, maybe just his head? But I'm not sure. Anyone got any ideas?

That could be pretty nice! One thing is sure, he would need a "police cherry", meaning a police light on the roof. Maybe a single one as inspired by animated.

On second thought, adding yellow to make an Norwegian police car would be pretty awesome. Black, white, and yellow. Also, red on the back. The colors would also carry to the bot, making something G2 flashy! Making clean stripes on the car will be a challenge. Maybe with water decals?

The police light being that blue clear bar.

Whilst that's a cool idea I think I'll stick with black and white, as it's not really the right shade of yellow for Bumblebee. Might paint his helmet yellow but we'll see. I'll be keeping the paintwork fairly simple (just planning on masking off and airbrushing the lower half of the car and the stripe with a gloss black) and adding some police markings via a G1 Prowl Reprolabel sheet.

For the cherry, it's easy enough. Just find a police toy car in a dollar store that would be used as a sacrifice. Then screw it on. Simply gluing with super glue will only end up in tears and pain.

Using G1 Prowl repros is a marvelous idea. But you better stick to black and white for the bot too. However, the weapon should be striped yellow and white, or yellow and red, or yellow and black. Like those danger cones. An idea that would be a callback to Kiss Players Autorooper.

Man I'd forgotten about the traffic cone gun that came with Autorooper. That's hilarious! Also gotta love the look on Atari's face. "Goddamnit Auto-san, did you really not bring anything more effective than traffic cones? And why did we have to bring the Kremzeek with us!?!"

But yeah I think I'm gonna go with black and yellow hazard stripes for the gun. Bee flavoured plasma bazooka! Yay! As for the cherry light, I might not even need to do that- if I have a suitable shaped nubbin lying around somewhere I could probably paint it a high-shine metallic red (probably clear red over chrome) and use that. Or possibly dig through my pile of broken electronic bits and pieces and use a non-functional LED bulb as the basis? It'd be the perfect shape and size.

Good call on the LED bulb. All you'll had to do is to drill a tiny hole then twist the wires inside.

While I continue to ponder where to source sufficient ratchet joints, or else those push-button locks like you get in adjustable table or pavillion legs, I had another idea: An abdomen extension that goes between the main part of the abdomen, and the plate that the central tower halves are hinged to. This would help with the central tower's height, and it could also be made to incorporate a sternum cover with rotating radar mount (which would still be able to be pushed down to hit the button that works his electronics).

I also had the idea of replacing CW Motormaster's roof fairing with a G1-inspired sleeper, the halves of which can move to better secure his arms in torso mode

Here's a thought:

DotM Leader Ironhide into Battletrap, as a fancier version of this (and inspired by it even having a recolored Ironhide head on the package art). Could also do it with a Mad Max-ish Frankensteined front end, which I think would suit Battletrap - and be a great excuse to replace the oft-missing front end pieces without needing to bother properly replicating the Topkick front.
