3)I hope one day they will CROSSOVER one of the universes like Armada meets G1. I'd love that! But I doubt that will ever happen! But I hope that the new series Transformers: Heroes learn from the mistakes from the past, even though they won't and continue to make a 30-min. toy commercial, like story plot holes(BM), bad dialogue(Armada series), animation mistakes(G1)although not a big issue these days, simple story plots(RID, Armada series), and no more TRANSFORM! before every transformation!. I hope it will be American based or Japanese based rather than Americans trying to be Japanese and failing! Because it hasn't worked in the past!
Don't worry, they'll come up with even doofier names eventually. "Hello, I'm Roadkill the Autobot." or "I'm Breakwind, a Decepticon Seeker." Ahhh the fun never ends.Brakethrough wrote:tf dutchie wrote:If there is one thing I don't like, than it's names.
Why not the Japanese names?
Roadbuster is so more better than Ironhide (Energon) for example.
What about Mudflap? Was Hasbro running out of good names
You're kidding, right? "I'm Roadbuster...I..bust roads...stop laughing!"
Let's not forget such winners as "Inch-Up" "Jackshot" "Landbullet" "Guard Shell" "Back Gild" and..."Liger Jack"? Were they watching Napoleon Dynamite?

I somewhat agree with you on that. Depends on which character they are and if there is a reason for having that type of design. For example, Devcon (or Defcon depending on how you spell it) should have the spaceship mode that he has same goes with G1 Cyclonus, Scourge, and the Sweeps. But then I look at G1 Scattershot, Strafe, and Afterburner and go "what the funk?". Don't get me wrong, those three designs are cool-looking but it boggles my mind of why have them when Lightspeed is a car and Nosecone looks like a type of drilling machine that "could" be used on Earth.
Furthermore, there is the reverse of this with the fact that Optimus, Alpha Trion, and the other Autobots present made the Arielbots out of old Cybertronian rockets and turned them into less advance Earth jets/planes. DUH!

People who think that if I don't like a particular movie incarnation such as Megatron and Starscream it is only because I'm some sort of "Die hard G1 fanboy".

Furthermore, I cant really say I enjoy many of the episodes (from what I've seen thus far) that came after the original movie. The best episodes were in Seasons 1 - 2. Why do I think this? I cant tolerate Rodimus Prime or many of the newer characters introduced in the movie.

Doesn't nessisarily have to BE the same story line, just the same time line.G1Blaster wrote:I'd think the same storyline would get old after twenty-plus years. Plus, I don't think CD players and I-pods would save it.
I did start with G1 but then I completly forgot about it. Beast Wars reintroduced me to the Transformers after G1 was abruptly ended at the start of Headmasters in the US.G1Blaster wrote:I'm assuming you started with G1 like most of us here. You believe G1 to be the real universe for TFs. Fair enough. Just think of all the other universes as one giant Marvel Comics 'What if...?' issue.
I'd like to say, there are only 2 groups of people that I absolutly hate...G1Blaster wrote:As for TFs dying in the war, remember the censors. They may let a character die because it's good for the story and it's only one guy. They aren't going to let bots just drop left and right because it's a war. It's a kid's show.
I don't think they have any trouble. They manage to sell toys that never appear in the show at all so I'm sure selling a toy for a character who did appear in the show but died would be no problem.Stalinglad wrote:G1Blaster wrote:As for TFs dying in the war, remember the censors. I don't think it's due to the censors. It has more to do with the fact that Hasbro would find it difficult to sell a toy that has been killed off in the show. Anyway, Robotech (superb show) was around at the same time and had plenty of characters dying.
