JetOptimus23 wrote:The action. Most of G1's battles were a bit tame, just lasers flying everywhere and never really hitting anyone. Probably because it was a children's show. Now we have Optimus Prime ripping peoples faces off, Starscream ripping apart F-22s in Mid-air, Sideswipe slicing cars in half, and the like. That's what i like to see.

JohnOfTardis67 wrote:I did have one hate. I didn't like the design and look of movie Devastator...... I would have liked something slightly similar to the G1 for him..... The movie version looked like a squatting gorilla about to do a ****..
There were some great designs on the net for him, like this one.

Quite like this version.

Elemental Queen wrote:Cartoons, etc, in my opinion are far better than live action movies. Especially when crudity and slutty humans are left out.
I alos prefer animated films more anyhow. I'm pretty excited about a few coming up too.

But I think the problem is that people made preconceived expectations and expected G1 when the movie was announced then all hell broke loose when the characters looked different from G1.

Well, at the prodigious risk of igniting yet another riot, you may never get a real reason because some people are not willing to accept that some people just didn't like the movie. I didn't really like it, but I am not one of they who deride it as being the worst thing ever. "I don't like it" really is a valid reason, and I'm not exactly sure what else is "required" to not like a movie. For the most part, the people who give reasons for liking the movie essentailly keep saying that everyone else needs to get over G1 and move out of the basement, so, if that's a "real" answer as to why we must love the movie, then "I just didn't like it" or "it's not my favorite continuity" surely should be an acceptable reason as well. Ultimately, it's gotten to the point where reasons are only valid if the reader decides they are, and I can't wait for the storm the third movie will bring with it.

I think the problem I have is with the ones that can't let go of their dislike of the movieverse so they must go into the forums and bash them...and especially the fans...to bits and pieces. So, I don't think we must all love the movie, but I do think we should all at least show some tolerance and at least a hint of openness and especially show some self control and not become enraged that someone else finds enjoyment in something they personally don't like, so they take it out on that person and try to tear them down and what they enjoy. I just don't see why tearing others down can be justified by saying "the movies suck" or also adding "so you suck for liking them". I do consider "I don't like the movies" a valid reason for someone who just doesn't like them, but doesn't care to shove hate in someone's face. I personally think there is a difference between "I hate the movies 'cause they suck" and "I just don't care for the movie stuff". If the person says they "suck" I just would like to know why they "suck".

Anyway, I honest to god like the way the Constructicons look. Rampage was my least favorite for a long time, but in the desert battle, that jackhammer leg thing actually works for me. I think it's the tread whips to be honest, and the way he fights with BB makes me think of those creatures in The Suffering that would dig under the ground then pop up and swing their chains around. Long Haul, Mix and Demolisher I've always liked, and since everything has to be all 'alien zomg' and stuff, I propose Demolisher to be the best robot design in both movies. He's strange but functional, as is see when he's rolling down the street in China.
