I usually see the arms in Arm Mode flush against the body, while the Instructions (does anyone even read those for simple transformations nowadays?) show them out like in Robot Mode, at an angle against the abdomen seemingly resting there. Emphasis on "seemingly", as they do lock in place there:

If you look closely you see angled slots on the car roof, that's where they go.

If you're going to play with him and move his arms, it absolutely is necessary to do that with the Dead End mold's arms because if they're left tucked in a la car mode they cause clearance issues when using the outward motion of the shoulders.

If you're going to play with him and move his arms, it absolutely is necessary to do that with the Dead End mold's arms because if they're left tucked in a la car mode they cause clearance issues when using the outward motion of the shoulders.
I have only once transformed my Dead End that way, it was ugly, and it still hit Motormaster, so the result was not a positive one. It's why every use of that mold I have stays mistransformed
