Think the BMOG toy line idea was borrowed from Hasbro's AOE Construct bots toy line idea.

Disclaimer, HasTak went on record by saying it takes up to Two years to create a toy line in advance before it gets released in stores. Think this was plenty of time for BMOG to borrow this Construct Bots Gimmick toy line idea. As Hasbro was even using the Constructs toy line idea for the, Transformers Prime toy line.

Just recently noticed the similarity in both toy lines.

The AOE Construct bots Duo gift sets. That include one snap together Dinosaur and one bigger Transformer. For those who know, The snap together Dinosaurs can also combine with the bigger Construct bots robot. To give the bigger robot armor, weapons and guns. Think this is exactly what the BMOG toys are and can do.

Where the BMOG toys are beast that snap together to form a beast. Then snap apart to form armor, Guns and Weapons for the bigger robot. Think this is exactly what the AOE Constructs bots Dinosaurs do for the bigger Constructs toys in the DUO gift sets.

Think Hasbro was using this idea before AOE. Remember some Transformers Prime Beast Hunters construct bots duo or trio gift sets offering this BMOG PWTOO toy line gimmick.

Since Hasbro Construct Bots toy line was released before BMOG's toy line. It goes without saying which company borrowed the toy line gimmick idea from whom.

Construct Bots was a direct rip off of LEGOs Bionicle, including the small companion figures that act as armor/ weapons for the larger ones.

Action-Masters have also had weapons that turn into animals, and then there is the Unicron Trilogy which had Mini-Cons that did pretty much the same.

Takara's Microman toy line from the 70s also did something similar.

It's not a brand new concept, and Hasbro didn't think of it first.

My first exposure to that play pattern was Micronauts from 1976.

As for the specifics of Ursenal, Trent Troop has stated in interviews that he was inspired for it's design when playing with the Action Master partner Top-Heavy, which you can see in it's design, it is very similar. He noticed that besides Top-Heavy turning into a gun, it's individual pieces looked like guns, so he took it, changed it into a bear, and made each part a gun.

He also said the design for Mant-Axe was inspired by the axe that comes with He-Man.

Think if the BMOG toys were Deluxe, Voyager and Leader class. Could Transform or snap apart to form a beast and bot mode. Had fully articulated beast and bot modes. Then I think these toys might have been good.

Thinking the Leader class BMOG toy could be a triple changer toy. That had a Lion, Tank and bot mode. Fully articulated bot and beast modes. Envision this toy snapping apart and together to change modes.

Have no interest in buying BMOG toys that have almost no articulation. Can change between modes and are tiny minicons or legends class toys.

Instead of envisioning and thinking, get making some of this stuff you want yourself like use AutoCAD or something and just make it yourself. There is plenty of 3d printer companies around just submit you designs and make some snappy apart, change mode toys.
