Congrats Willy J! My best wishes to you and your family.
On the subject of Trypticon, am I the only one that thinks the until-now useless Classics Trypticon redeco of Cybertron Legends Scourge would make for a good "baby" Trypticon? He's about Legion size IIRC so maybe you could fit a bunch inside him and have them deploy from his tail and torso as a horde of minions like some kind of videogame boss/homage to Godzilla's various mini-mes.

Well depending on your head-cannon, minions deployed from his tail could also be a preggers Trypticon giving birth.
Which brings us full circle.
Congrats Will!

The comments in your second attachment suggest that the 'different' right tower is also on a Hasbro Trypticon, though... curiouser and curiouser.

I can confirm that my Hasbro Trypticon has the 'boring'-type towers, i.e. the ones pictured by Reprolabels, on both sides. Maybe some kind of crazy running change (which would, in turn, probably mean that most/all of the Takara ones have the newer towers too)? I guess we'll need more reports from everyone on this, too. I swear, with the amount of case-studies and data collation we're doing on Trypticon he's turning into a damn science project

Later Hasbro releases of Trypticon is in fact the Takara one in Hasbro boxes. Takara fixed all of the original's issue and the towers went with it.
That's the one I have.
Also, I finished applying Full-Tilt's Reprolabels and he look dope azfak.

Or they just made a mistake and assumed both towers were the same. Perfectly reasonable.

Both towers are the same (or at least mirror-images of each other)... on some Trypticons. Mine has two identical towers, but it sounds like others - presumably later batches - have two different tower designs in addition to all the other various fixes.
D'you think this'll start messing with completists and hardcore variant collectors? Like, you gotta get the explodey-hips same-towers Trypticon, the 'fixed version' (because they have confirmed different tooling now, not just QC fixes), and then if you wanna deal with packaging variants you'd need TT Tryp as well. Man, everything about Trypticon is just making him the weirdest Titan figure ever, and probably the strangest Transformer figure overall in quite a while, just in terms of how much stuff is going on around this one toy.

My Trypticon doesn't arrive until tomorrow and now I'm wondering which towers I'll get. Glad I held off on the Reprolabels!

Sorry all, but would someone repeat exactly what the QC issues are with Trypticon, please?
I've only just got mine today and am very nervous about whether I need to do anything to it. The legs do move back and forward. Is the problem that they don't move at all with the bad hips? I started looking through this thread, but it was mostly folk saying there was a problem or sharing their opinions as to whether it's right for this figure to have QC issues at all.

It was the hip ratchet problems, the spring was waaay too tight & wrecking some internal part in the process when moving the legs, other issues were the door/ramp(where the TM's come out after Trypticon eats them) was ever so slightly warped so didn't close at one side properly, the hinged tail didn't stay closed firmly and properly & lastly the stickers are crap...too flimsy ect

Lol, hadn't heard of the sticker issue. So is it pretty much guaranteed that I need to do Qwan's mod if I want it to survive?

Aye, there is a fanfix where you can loosen the spring(ie so it's not as tight) without having to cut the spring ect

Thanks for the swift responses. Guess I'll go fetch the screwdriver.
Just in the event someone's tracking these things, my copy is indeed the Hasbro release, but the towers aren't opposites of the same mould and the stamp on the main body of the hip joint has the copyrights for "HASBORSA" (not a typo) and "TOMY".

The Legends version uses black screws too, the Titans Return one uses regular unpainted screws.

So I've spent some time applying Qwan's hip fix to one of Trypticon's legs (thanks for the brilliant guide Qwan), only taking about 1/5th of the length off the spring. It certainly moves more freely, but I'm worried doing both may make it unable to support its own weight.
Not sure if anyone is tracking this anymore (like I said, only got mine today) but something I discovered was that the teal cross that, on Qwan's version, was too thick to allow the inner ratchet to sit over it does appear to have been thinned down on my version (again, a Hasbro version). The ratchet part had no problem fitting over the cross and fell off easily when turned upside down.
I just want to say that despite hearing about all the QC issues, once I put him together and stood him up I was blown away by this guy. Absolutely love him. So imposing considering the goofy G1 faithfulness. It was a battle to not go running around the house showing him off to everyone....
A battle I lost.

Alright, so it looks like I have the second run Hasbro version, but I still did the hip spring compression fix because they felt like they needed it.
And, just so I'm getting this straight, Repro designed there stickers for the first run with symmetrically mirrored towers?

So after starting what feels like months ago, I finally sat down today (between catching Raikus) and finished applying Trypticons stickers.
That's enough ... as great as they end up look with the Toyhax labels, I just don't have the patience for it.
Now to work on the springs (Mine is from a batch that could be good or bad, so I'm doing it anyway)

I dreamt last night that I got Trypticon for my birthday.
I don't even know where to begin on how sad that is. Should I see a psychiatrist?
