Quoting this just because it cannot be repeated enough.

So given that Metroplex came 1st, then Devastator, then Fort Max, and now Tryppy, is it plausible that Omega Surpeme is next? Or might it be Scorponok?

Well over on the Titans Return page if the info coming from 4Chan is to be believed then Scorponok is next

Huh. To be honest, I'm very underwhelmed. It's just the f1 toy but bigger and more surface detail. It even has the foot prongs from the walking thing. Ugh. I was hoping he would be reinvented a bit, be a bit beefier, better arms or something. You know, like the poster artwork? I'm really not liking how the classics has suddenly gone "must be g1 but with articulation" that the new design team has gone with. I much preferred my classics to be recognisable as the guys but with modern alt modes.

I was holding out hope for this guy, but for the price and shelf space, i think I'll just get the platinum reissue.

It's easier said than done with some G1 characters, though. Sure, you can easily update and modernize alternate modes like cars, tanks, jets, helicopters, or current pieces of technology...but how do you really modernize a giant robot "dinosaur" monster per se?

Speaking for myself, I never really liked WFC Trypticon's design. It just seemed too.... off. I don't know how to phrase it but something was missing, and this version is honestly much more desirable to me even as someone who had no idea who or what Trypticon was until the late 2000s.

You know what I'm really debating in my mind right now? If/when I get Trypticon, will he go with my CHUG collection (because Headmaster gimmicks) or my Legends (because he'll look even bigger next to tiny little dudes)?

Well I can't help you there, but for me, it's going to be a case of wherever I can fit him.

Maybe I can lift his arms high enough to balance a shelf and turn him into a coffee table. :-P

Well, as for where I can fit him, he crosses the "Fortress Maximus Threshold" where he's big enough to BE his own display- so he'll go wherever there is space and is safe for him. Like, he doesn't need a shelf! Shelves are for the weak! Trypticon stands tall and proud! Plus he's so big that he can be used to display other, smaller figures (hence why I was thinking he might go with Legends scale).

FWIW if I had Encore Fortress Maximus (TR Fort Max just doesn't do it for me) he'd be in with the Legends crew, as he fairly obviously predates the TR line and he's so huge and full of compartments that he's practically begging for loads of little dudes to go with him.

The Haul thread is pages upon pages of circlejerking, but this is all the deviation from offishill product conversation that is necessary to warrant attention in this thread.

No, what you saw above is a continuation of Stu and Burn butting heads which started with Stu complaining (yet again) that nobody replies to his comments and fishing for internet attention, and Burn (rightfully) calling him out for it, which then lead to the passive-aggressive use of memes in their signature lines.

Get what little amusement you can from it and scroll on.

Also Trypticon (didn't want to be off topic myself) :-D

And again, some us don't buy nor can afford to buy 3P products, as you stated in all capital letters, so the point is moot. That's like saying if someone wants a "Chug Star Saber" they should go out and buy the expensive masterpiece version.

Hmm, well, erm, Takara did kinda scale that MP more in the CHUG size scale than the MP size scale (since Star Saber is supposed to be the height of a combiner).

And, well, MP Star Saber may be a kinda pricy, but not nearly as pretty a penny as most third party products of his size and mass.

But yeah, what you said about Titan class Trypticon vs. Planet X's dino is legit. ;)^

I get it for some guys, like the original headmasters. But look at the classics. Original classics. Still the iconic g1 aethsetics but a little updated. Now granted, i too would like some guys to be their g1 self. Like blaster. But as long as they have their iconic look incorporated in, like prowl and his door wings and car chest, then why not? Like fortress. Clearly fortress but he's a bit different. Or the combiners. Modified alt modes and look but still recognisable as that character.

As for how to do trypticon? You see that poster that said under construction? And then was fully revealed to show him fighting fortress? Yeah, that's how. If he looked like that, I'd be very tempted to get him.

To be a little fair, that artwork was just recycled Legends mobile game art, which Hasbro has taken to lazily reusing (instead of making new art that actually looks like the new toys) rather commonly as of late, regardless of how different the Legends art tends to be from the product it's being used to advertise.

Should Hasbro stop reusing old artwork that doesn't look like the new toys to advertise said new toys? I'd say so. But the damage is done and has been for a while now.

I think trypticon looks awesome. A different looking alt mode would make some sense in a smaller toy that is less of a gamble, but for a toy this size the main frame of reference is the g1 toy, especially if it transforms into a base.

Fort max strayed from his g1 origins for base mode (dont give me that catalogue crap) and suffers for it to no end. Lets give Hasbro a break here and welcome them playing it safe for this particular instance.

For all those saying that they might as well buy the g1 toy (a worthwhile argument for Fort max), please note that the g1 Trypticon toy is not that great. Would definitely not be on a top 5 list of best base bots (umm... I havent written that list yet, maybe I should, and maybe I should wait for this guy to come out before).
