To Laserbeak, or not to Beak....

Postby Joshua Vallse » Wed Mar 09, 2011 4:27 am

Motto: "Build a Giant Robot? Sure it's safe, I mean...it's not like two Stars from a childhood tv show are going to hotwire it and take over the world....right?"
Tiss the question. Alright I haven't seen a thread on this here in this forum, but I ran into some alleged unused Massive Black TF2 concept art depicting Laserbeak, which seems fairly close to what was shown in the Trailer.

Art is featured in the attachments.

It seems to coincide with whats being included in film and the new figure that went up for auction.

Just some stuff I'd thought I'd share...if there is already a thread out there about this, please do plug it here, if not, eh, feel free to add whatever pics and links you think validate or debunk this claim.

Personally I think it's true, being this is "CONCEPT" art, it's not going to look simlular to the letter, but enough of the design elements are there being the circular wing disks, the serpentine neck (Forced perspective), and the segmented wing feather bits. As for the design itself...eh, I mean I give the artist credit for not giving it one eye or going the other extreme and giving it ten eyes....but again the head just strikes me as too bug like for an avian based bot.

No one knows, there lies the mystery

I honestly don't know whats going on there either though....I think because this was art meant for "Fallen", they will change or have changed (being there are images of Laserbeak in the trailer) this design...I can only pray the head has changed as well.

Alright it looks like things have gone from bad to worse here as far as that head.

New images of Laserbeak have arisen in the toy forum under this thread here.....

transformers-dotm-laserbeak-revealed-t74535s0.php

Which reveal an alt mode and a....something else mode.

Ah, wonderfully bad. I think this film has officaly gone into the feild of parody at this point. The alt mode seems to be some type of UAV or :CON: Drone, which has a birds face painted on to it. Nice easy way out there. The uh....beast mode? Well the "other" mode just, I don't know really. The toy thread has descrptions of dying vulture to plucked chicken to robot ostritch....all which sound accurate to me. Even in movie mode, I don't really see how this thing could look good on any capacity.

The head is pretty bad, especially those bulbous eyes on the side. And is that a tongue? Other than that and the way off color choices I like it.

*ROTFLMAO*
If it doesn't get named in the film, and the name remains 'condor' or 'Buzzard' or whatever on the box, we can pretend its a PCC drone with no friends.
By Junkion, that's ugly. We can show it to the Barbie haters next time they complain all toys are made to brainwash kids into wanting to be beautiful.
"Everyone has a hobby.Even people who say they don't still have one under another name.If we're sick, injured, we still go to it and get down to see how it is.If it needs something, we bring it,make sure the attention is perfect. It exercises our care and protection and gives us back philosophies. It's a living thing to us,and is the most perfect way to teach a young person how to be towards a living thing. It's something that should never be taken away."

On a side note, it would be real killer if we got a classic..

I actually like the flatter gead shape on the new toy, evokes memories of the original Laserbeak, not too sure on the silly dinosaur-esque head that pops out. However, as a totallity, it seems ok. :BOT:

Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
