Oh man I wanna try those now. I usually like eating healthy but once in a while I need a little Taco Bell.

As a nerd and rpg gamer, how the bloody hell have I not heard of Old Man Henderson until now? My god, I think I'm going to die laughing.

Well, Sandwich related story here.
We went to Red Robins for the first time the other day. I enjoyed it, really good burger place.
So, I went with my grandma and her dad. They're southern people, really stubborn in the worst way.
So, Grandma asks her how he liked his burger.
He ordered just this basic burger, like, a patty, an onion, and some mustard. That's it.
So he answers "Ooooh, it's okay, but if I wanted a burger, I'd go to that there uh, mac-donalds."

I look at grandma and ask her how she likes her burger, she says it's all right. I then ask, "But is it as good as mcdonald's?" and she gives me this bitter look.

I greatly dislike living around old southern people.

Sometimes old people are weird. My Grandpa grew up on a farm during the great depression. Needless to say he was raised on cheaper things and usually bought store brand everything. Took me forever to convince him to drink beer that wasn't bud light or natural ice. He was the drink a beer with dinner kind of guy, so I didn't understand why he'd drink that kind of crappy beer. He did enjoy Heineken when I would buy it for him but he would never get it himself. It's about 2 bucks for a big bottle of Heineken where I am so I'd buy it and split it with him. Miss those days.

Oh yes, Natty Ice. Otherwise known as diesel fuel where I'm from.

I don't drink much alcohol anymore, and rarely ever any beer. Usually when someone invites me for a drink. And it's always Miller Lite.

A lot of older people seem to not want to try new things. Set in their ways. I hope when I'm old I'm not like that...

We have those on the property too! One of them tagged a stop sign in the middle of nowhere, like...why? What do you gain!?

The other thing I cant stand are all the people who move out from the city and are just determined to let everyone around them know just how country they are. Blasting country music, and buying everything in camouflage, and I mean everything. If I ever visit my uncle's house, it's a miracle if I can ever find anything.

On the matter of beer....... why would anyone drink a Miller light (or similar style "cheap" beer) when there is probably a perfectly good toilet bowl of pisswater nearby?


Remember kids, if it costs less than 12 dollars for a 12pk of bottles, it's a crap beer.

Mostly college kids drinking to drink I assume. Or people like Grandpa who are cheap and don't get exposed to anything better.

I live in the pacific northwest so there are tons and tons of breweries here so I have little excuse to drink bad beer. (Honestly the only time I drink the cheap crappy stuff is if someone offers it to me.)

I've yet to find a beer I actually enjoy drinking, so for the moment, I stick to my vodka and mixed drinks. With a new 40oz goblet I'll use in the new apartment once I move

It's going around. We are still dealing with flooding issues two weeks out from the rains where I live.

This town, while it has its many faults, actually has some damn good drainage. The biggest problem occurs when the Tablelands get a **** tonne of rain which flows down into the river here and will often combine with a high (sometimes king) tide

But geez ... I honestly don't know how we managed to survive when it flooded here before Facebook. So many people asking if roads were open, fairly certain back in the day we just drove as far as we could and if we couldn't go any further, we turned around and came home.

So ... all that water that got dumped on the Tablelands (into the catchment area for the river here) has made its way down.

This was outside my place less than an hour ago.

High tide is due to peak in the next few minutes but it won't be a problem (for me anyway). Hopefully it gets away quickly.

That sucks, I hope and wish some receding waters to you. Here was our area 2 weeks ago:








We escaped damage, but a couple of our friends lost everything.

Definitely worse than here. Most of the flooded areas here are down my parents way (they just get cut off, water doesn't come near them).

It's all mostly gone now, just debris to clean up now.

Dang Densh! I remember what state you live in, but don't recall exactly what part. Is that due to the lake, or one of the rivers?

All due to rivers. I live in the Elkhart area, within a Mike of the river. We are lucky to be just out of flood range, though this one tested the truth of that.


This was all do to getting over a foot of snow one weekend, then getting 7 inches of rain the next. The area rivers set record cresting levels. Fun times , thanks Obama*.













*I'm not letting Trump ruin that as well.
