The Classics Seeker mold was pretty good, yes. Size was its only major shortcoming amongst its fellows (it displays nicely amongst G1s, tho - actually did that with my Generations Dirge). And you know, I bet the weapons from the Classics Seekers would look great on the WFC molds.

No, it doesn't. It's a terrible mold.

And then there's his upgrade Hellscream, AKA "Swordshark".

(I love the "upgrade" BWII figures so much, they're totally bonkers in just the right way.)

The bomb-dropping and the Megavisor sound pretty cool to me. You're going to need more info than a "weh it's terrible" to convince me otherwise.Burn wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I'd actually like to get hold of Machine Wars Starscream, since he's one of the good uses of the Skyquake mold (which has cool gimmicks, from what I've read).

Unfortunately the mega-vizor gimmick have been removed from the MW version. But at least he's still able to bomb-away and most importantly, no GPS compared to the Skyquake original.
He's a brick that cannot pose, yes. But he's amazing looking and that spaceship mode is killer.
Plus, he's cheap for such an old "G1" figure.

BWII Hellscream was on my list, that figure is just so insane but so awesome and unique. I love it!

You can get Stalker (or even just his missile) for the mega-visor gimmick. He's much more poseable as well.
Bomb dropping gimmick? That's assuming you can find the bombs to begin with. You might get lucky and come across someone who doesn't know what they have and pick them up cheap. Otherwise ... bomb-dropping gimmick? It's not very exciting.
And he's straight up a brick, and overly large one at that. Want to display him? He takes up an incredible amount of shelf space.

Only the original Stalker and Skyquake (aka Crash in the Benelux) have the proper slides for the gimmick I'm afraid: all the redecos have them removed, but I'm not sure if the mirrors are too. Could very well be.
For Starscream you could salvage Skyquake's slides and mirrors, since... you know... the only good thing about GPS

I agree, the bomb dropping gimmick us not exciting at all. Feels really low effort on the designers' part.

I do wish they would give us a new Skyquake figure so they can make a Selects Starscream.

A what? He's loosely based on an SR-71 Blackbird.

For my money, he's got just as much if not more influence from the B-1 Lancer (as is pointed out for the redecoes). Compare the tails.Emerje wrote:You guys have no imagination, I like the bomb drop gimmick, it's something different from yet another spring loaded missile at the time.![]()

If my belt was as loose as that interpretation of the Blackbird, I'd be running around in my underwear.
