The top of "Hasbro Figures better than Takara" was interesting.
But this top is unnecessary.
Almost everyone knows that the colors of Takara are better than Hasbro (Well ... the great (but great) majority), the only bad thing is the price to bring them, but........ weeeeeell... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Takara makes plenty of mistakes. Like say, ANY time they use the color purple. And there are a large group of people who detest the use of chrome, which was essentially the entire Henkei line.
The job of this (these) article(s) is to generate discussion. And it is hard work. It's done it's job, and to say it is "unnecessary" is a tad disrespectful.

On that note — and while my wallet IS rejoicing – not having the two paint options is kinda bumming me out. I'd have really liked that Unite Warrior box set of Abominus in cartoon colors.

That right there is THE BEST ARGUMENT whenever someone comes out of the woodwork claiming that Takara is always about collectors. Its a toy company, for ****'s sake, toys arent for kids?!
I do have arms micron in my collection, but its not because the deco is better (it never was), its simply because that line had a ton of exclusive characters like Thundercracker, Skywarp, Ironhide, Breakdown, Flyng Vehicon, nemesis prime(s) ect.

I guess difference between G1 is that for the most part, the G1 stickers added a little extra detail, like machinery deco on Dinos. But for these, the figure looked incomplete — like the solid white Wheeljack. It was like they skipped paint apps for stickers, and I don't think that's an acceptable option.
I don't think what we have seen for Starscream, Elita One is an acceptable option either. Having seen how crooked and poor quality they are these days, I'd just rather them skip stickers altogether.

Yeah, its not. Plus, G1 ws maybe before they perfected Tampo technology, I so get that. The stickers are a product of their time, like the articulation and simpler transformations. But we are beyond that now.
Ayways, the other major problem with the arms micron line was that to support the added play with the accompanying buildable micron partner, they added holes to all their toys. So not only would the deco be worse but you woudl have all the holes. I go more into depth here in the previous list where I show which times Takara clearly was not the better option https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... ras/40955/

Good point about tampos. Quality on those looks just about spot on to the old stickers. The Decepticon Targetmaster trio look amazing with their tampos, for example.

Always Guilty..."
That said, Cybershark. It can certainly be said that Base form Cybershark is a Shellformer, the fact that his chest is the only part of his bot mode used in his Beast Form speaks for itself.
Transmetal/2 Cybershark however, I would say doesn't conform to the same description. The two halves of his tail become [Huge] shoulder pads and his Blue fins slot back quite neatly away in Bot Mode. Bear in mind also that his head, arms and legs all contribute significantly to his Beast Mode in this mold. Not a Shellformer at all, in my view.
Having the original myself, I actually find the Sky-Byte figure and his colour palette really gaudy and tacky in comparison. Regardless of which version.
