Plus, Megatron amuses me.
xyl360 wrote:Manterax Prime wrote:Better? In what way? Most of Takara's figure are just given a different paint job. Not much better if you ask me.
I think you may just be insane.
Better paint, more paint, different (better looking) plastics much of the time. For most it's probably not worth the additional cost, but to me it is.
I have both versions of many Generations/RTS etc. figures (Takara and Hasbro) from the past several years so I can compare them in-hand and to me, the Takara versions are nearly always superior (though some more than others).
You have to keep in mind though that I'm a very picky collector. I want the very best version of every figure/character that I want, and that usually means that I must pay more and import to get it.
There's nothing wrong with the Hasbro versions, but if the Takara versions are better (which again, they usually are, at least to some degree), then that's what I'll buy.
If Mantarex Prime wants to dispute it, then he should also compare Hasbro's Commemorative series to TOMY's ENCORE series first. The rest are too visual, as Hasbro favors a flat paint style versus TOMY's post-merger use of metallic paint.
And even before the merger, a good chunk of Takara's products were both exclusive and superior to what Hasbro put out those years. So the point being is that if liking how TOMY gave "Generations" life by using a superior paint scheme that gives the figure more depth and more contrast makes me insane...
Then you might as well place me in Hotel California (which is now CSUCI).

Orion Pax and IDW Bumblebee are looking good, but I'd hope for a Voyager IDW Megatron.
So about 50/50 in my book.
Classics Magnus/Skywarp 2 pack MIB
Classics Devastator MIP
HA Sideswipe K-Mart exclusive color Loose
Currently looking for:
ROTF Target exclusive Sideswipe from the 2-pack
TFCC Punch/Counterpunch
Alternity Primes, silver & white versions
(opened is OK, to be used for customs)
PM If interested

This might sound weird coming from me, seeing how I am the "Takara Tomy only" guy... But Springer looks more like something Fansproject would have made if Hasbro was not going to.
And I say that in a good way since they have been impressing me lately.

2013: The year Hasbro strikes back.
They saw how much of our wallets we were already sacrificing to the 3rd parties this year and knew they had to get in on the action, so they finally relented and gave the people what they wanted.
While I too wish for a Voyager scale IDW Megatron, that figure is far too beautiful for me to pass up. Of the six figures they've shown, Bumblebee is the only one I'm not interested in, and that's mostly because of my distaste for the character, rather than the quality of the mold.
Blitzwing is the one I'm most looking forward to, as I can finally make an IDW Earth Infiltration cell.

Good advice, regardless of venue.
Think we'll actually get both weapons this time or get shafted like we did with Soundwave?
Also, thanks, now I can't unsee that "sword".

Springer, while better then his previous Gen. fig. is still too alien.
IDW Black Megatron is totally going in the classics as my BWII B.B..!
And Failbreaker, while bought on sight, has too much "Neon" red.
*not really "Neon" red, but I guess "Neon" is TF slang for ugly*
and Orion Pax? Looks more like Optimus Prime without a visor.
Surprised IDW Bumblebee has a Targetmaster and not a gimp cane..

Both triple changes are great! Will get them. Was there something about an Astrotrain from Robotkingdom awhile back?
I'll be waiting for the inevitable Sandstorm repaint of Springer too... Now what do I do with Asian Generation Springer?
Also, the jet does not do it as megs for me. It looks great, just more like another character... Like G2 Smokescreen.
Pretty sad that Prime was a legends class.
Hmm... Now that I think about it... Remember this guy who once came along and posted a thread about the names of 2013/2014 Generations figures that all looked too good to be true? I think he was right...

Yes it is. And while I am not too impressed with the mold, I like how they turned Roller into a triple-changer that also has this Prime technically be a Targetmaster.
