Toy Fair 2013 Coverage: Transformers Generations

I hope you can take that cannon off his arm and actually peg it on to his back to kind of mimic this drawing. I wish they had a spot for a Autobot Symbol on his chest too in robot mode.
Man I hope Trailcutter is a tall deluxe, like classics Sideswipe or even Cyclonus...he looks pretty small though judging by the picture?

Well, he is supposed to be a representation of his appearances in the IDW comics...
I wouldn't give my hopes up. I'd say he would be at least as tall as one of the Generations Combaticons. Or Shockwave.

It would be cool if you could split the silver guns, one for the shoulder, one to peg into the hand.

The Senator Ratbat figure from Japan's United line.... it's based on his first appearance in the IDW comics.
Hasbro said that the 30th anniversary Generations toys will be characters based off appearances in IDW comics...

Still not blown away by Blitzwing, but I'm convinced I'll be getting Springer.
The little Targetmaster dudes are cool althoughI'll likely only get Bumblebee for the yellow guy himself.
Good to finally see what that artwork was going to get used for.

I'm counting more on rounding out the cast of the first two seasons. We're only missing a few:
- Hoist (with Trailcutter coming, this may seem likely)
- Skids (he's way overdue!)
- Beachcomber
- Gears
- Cosmos
- Cliffjumper (he need a unique mold!)
Only two Autobot Cars and four Mini-bots. Come on Hasbro!
- Jelze Bunnycat =:3
Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl
- Spare CW HFGs (Air Raid/Skydive)

Yeah, it's Tarn. Found out on TFWiki just as you posted.
Removable in a scary way, you say? The article made no mention of that.

While Tarn's face or mask might be removable (not been specified yet, but it seems as though the DJD may have different members at different times, each replacing their previous name-holder), I believe you're thinking of Vos.
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Vos_%28DJD%29
Having seen the IDW solicitations for May, I believe the next toy might be Hoist.
Unless they're cheating, and using the Botcon version of him.

However, a rumor (key word rumor) that I heard through the Cybertronian grapevine was that new designers had recently been hired. While what was lost from waves and waves of toys is disappointing, these new perspectives have given us some improved transformation engineering. For example, the bulk of PRID Vehicon's robot legs are formed by folding the roof and windshield of the vehicle mode thrice on itself. Plus, you may bash it to high heaven , but the FoC Optimus Prime does a god job evoking the character model, even with the small size it was given. At least it was good enough to get a full three color repaint to Ultra Magnus.
Today , these rumored new designers may have finally gotten their bearings. Now it appears that all those sacrifices made to the recent waves had another purpose. Hasbro was able to save money in order to, once again, blow our processors. I believe the best shining example are the Voyagers, Springer and Blitzwing. To have both their alt. modes be SO distinct while also giving us a decent robot mode is nothing short of fantastic. That's why those two are at the top of my "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" list, followed closely by the new deluxes. Metroplex, while impressive, is too imposing for my tastes so I'll put that $125 toward Hasbro's Masterpiece Soundwave.
Our patience has been rewarded big time my fellow bots and cons, now let the hunt begin!
