Though it isn't an exact match for G1 Junkyard, I guess it's close enough.

I'll take your word on the G1 comics as I've only read the first eight or so and the last 24. I also read G2 and I believe, everything since. The only show I'm not familiar with would be RID. If he's cowardly there I wouldn't know. Otherwise, Megatron is almost always depicted as strong, unafraid of anyone or anything. Of course, the movies have slipped my memory during the entire time I was making my argument. ;) I dunno, why would Megatron really give a crap about some no name? It's cool Sky Shadow is getting made at all but the bio is laughable IMO.

The first five show his imcompetence beautifully. In the first four, he steals a nuclear power plant to make a new base, but fails to use its nuclear power for his own gain. And then he kidnaps a car mechanic to create a superfuel for the Decepticons to use... because car mechanics can TOTALLY do that! And then when Shockwave shows up, he lists all of Megatron's stupidity right in front of him.

Oh, and in issue 13, Megatron gets damaged and becomes the personal weapon of some small-time thief. And I don't mean he's stuck in gun mode and forced to be wielded by this guy. No, he's capable of transforming, speaking, and even has full awareness of being used as a tool. The damage inflicted upon him before simply made him be apathetic. That's right, the mighty Megatron made into a lazy bum for some petty crook. >:oP

In G2, Megatron openly declares himself an idiot. :P

Not cowardly, but kinda lazy. He spends about 65% of the show sitting on his throne yelling at his underlings for their failures. he's also a little over-the-top, but not in a good way. Think G1 season 3 Galvatron minus the violent rages and with a nutcase voice.

Flux Convoy wrote:Otherwise, Megatron is almost always depicted as strong, unafraid of anyone or anything. Of course, the movies have slipped my memory during the entire time I was making my argument. ;)
In ROTF, he grovels a lot at The Fallen. But not in much of a patheitc way, but more like how a loyal servant serves his master. Yes, I just called that Megatron a "servant".

You're forgetting that they had been dormant for all of the span of humanity and had no knowledge of our sciences. They didn't even know humans were the dominant life form until issue...2? Mind you, I retain little of anything. As for recent comics and Sky Shadow, you'd know better than I. I read everything in trades. I think the last ones I read were Infiltration and Galvatron's whatever that was. Four issues of garbage I think.

Shockwave was dormant for just as long (if not longer), yet he knew of each and every one of these mistakes Megatron made and ridiculed him for them.

"Petty vengeance on barely intelligent creatures has no place in our cause. Logic dictates there is no place for such emotionalism in a Decepticon commander. Nor is there room for incompetence--For stealing energy facilities and not being able to use them, for being fooled by lower forms, for defeat. That is why I now command."

Regardless, both lifeforms use energy, yet Megatron didn't take the short time to simply figure out how use human fuel for the Deceps' benefit, yet Shockwave did.

Looking on his TFWiki page, it seems that IDW made him one of Megatron's three most powerful warriors, being on even level with Sixshot and Overlord. "Phase sixers" is what he called them. He was also in the TransTech fiction, but I can't tell how important he was in there.

Transtech, the party no one was invited to.

I'm completely unknowlegdeable about comics, I just really liked Victory. He was in there... So there's my reason for wanting that toy. We need more Victory toys.

Agreed. Though, brief, he was awesome in Victory.

I also used to know next to nothing about the comics, which is why I've recently started to learn more about them. I'm still reading the Marvel stuff before much else. From what I've seen thus far, I've been missing out on SO MUCH all these years by not reading the comics. Marvel G1 > Cartoon G1. 8)

I think the bio goes right along with IDW's Megatron as depicted in the Wreckers book.

And that Megatron is really bad-ass, so think what Black Shadow must be doing to inspire some fear.

Or they kind of said, hey we'll never make a new Overlord toy, or a new Sixshot toy and Black Shadow is a level sixer like those two (in the IDW-verse), and Overlord was trying to prove how badass he was, so maybe we'll just go with it.

I do believe the inspiration rose from there for the writer, even if it is not the spot on impression IDW gave us.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that noticed that, I thought I was being a massive continuity nerd :-B

Hasbro, me-thinketh your continuity copy writer didn't do their homework >:oP

Well, while it may not work for the G1 movie, suppose these toy bios represent a world in which Ratchet did not die. After all, toy bios can be seen as their own continuity. ;)

Far too much thinking required for me 8-} ;)
Nuh uh. Just don't take the toy bios as gospel to the cartoons. ;)

Especially when it comes to bio's from like the first wave of Beast Wars for example. Totaly not anything related tot he actual show.

At the risk of being *really* picky, the BW toy bios were done before the corresponding fiction was finalise and retconned as needed, it would appear that on this occasion they're a little muddled :-B

I do see where youre coming from tho, you can always make these things match up!!
The whole concept of the Universal Streams system makes this work. Any Universal stream ending with a "Beta" is set in a toy bio world or pack-in comic world. This bio is/could be a "Beta" stream in which Ultra Magnus sent Ratchet to Junkion.

If I knew the exact release date of the first Generations toys, I could calculate what Universal Stream this one would be.

All I know is that bio made my head hurt. Good bio if I ignore the movie.

This I get. I've read the Wreckers book at least twice and somehow managed to gloss over the mention. Like I said, he's pretty much a no-name in general. At least IMO. Who wouldn't be tickled about an Overlord Classics figure? Man, that would be cool!
