Measured AOE Voyager Optimus and the robot mode is Seven inches tall. These TW Dinobots are probably 7.2 inches tall in robot modes. Suspect the core team leader might be much bigger.

Yeah, I figured this was a case of small appearances not being accurate. Without something next to them, it's hard to figure out the scale. I remember thinking the same thing about Hardhead until some comparison shots came in. Thanks for the pic!

These look very decent. If I cared about the combining gimmick, I'd be all over these instead of FP. And if the Throttlebots and Heardhead are any indication, I bet these will be fun to play with. Let's see some preorders and pricing so I can decide on my Classics Dinobots.

oh man....

im committed to PX since i have caelus. i broke down and ebay'd the tfcon columpio. i rationalized this because im planning to have a FOC display which can have my takara grim with the rest of the PX crew. then theres my classics display, which i guess will have FP's dinos.

now im considering getting a third set of dinos. am i mental? i like these guys so far. and how im rationalizing it is:
"theyll have no place separately. but hes a combiner! he wont be displayed as separate robots! so where does he go? who cares!"

im not totally mental though. i dont think id commit to something like this until every figure was out or at least revealed. even then its a big if. theres a lot of other things i think id rather buy. all that said... id probably jump on TW's bandwagon if theyd come first.

Hehe, you sound like me :P. I'm bad about buying multiple versions of things (I'm also a sucker for repaints, especially for beast molds). I too am fully committed to getting PX's FoC not-Dinobots (and I also have Takara Grimlock, he's WORTH THE EXTRA $!) and I probably will be getting these as well. I'm not sure if I'll keep them combined though (much like their not-Throttlebots, I'm more interested in the individual modes than I am their combined mode, though I don't mind the added 'bonus' feature as long as it doesn't compromise the bot/beast modes (and it doesn't seem to at all with their not-Throttlebots so I expect the same results with these guys)).

He is so G1... and I LOVE IT!

I think I have been swayed. FP's look bad ass, and I would love Planet X's, but in the end I think my love for G1 rules over all.

I hope they show Sludge's color shots soon.

Looks pretty good, but of the three classics-y dinobots, I think I like these least.

Not that this is bad, and I love Toyworld's playability, but I think I'll stick with PlanetX, FP or a combo of the two.

If only this would've come out 2 - 3 years ago when they first teased Dinobots. I still think Snarl looks impressive, and that head/face sculpt is killer! Interest builds in seeing this project slowly unveil. Dammit! :BANG_HEAD:

I'm quite confused as to which dinos to get now... looks good. Might just mix and match cause even if I want this snarl there is no way I'll wait for Toyworld to release all their dino bots. they'll take forever...

does looks like it lacks pain apps though.

Speechless, What a beautiful Colored G-1 update sculpt for this not-snarl.

My only minor complaint. Why is the Dino head partially in the torso. It looks like a Turtle head Sticking out of it's shell.

:BANG_HEAD: It boggles the mind. If 3rd parties can create Dinobots this great, than why can't HasTak.

Cost. I'm sure they will in the MP line though. Someday...(hopefully sooner rather than later).

I think I'm probably getting these. In fact, I'm sure of it. I'm still getting PX's for my WfC/FoC shelf, but these I will be purchasing for my Classics/Generations shelf.

Yeah. Nothing against them as they do look pretty good, but I like what I've seen out of TW better so far and quite frankly I just trust their quality more. I've had too many bad experiences with FP, even with their recent stuff and it's made me a bit gunshy about their QC and engineering. They also have a tendency of being far more stylistic with their designs than I'm typically comfortable with, often beyond even what Has/Tak have done with many of their modern takes on characters which makes it more difficult for me to put their figures up on a shelf containing mostly official toys and view it as a coherent line of figures. It's not that they look bad so much as they often just don't seem to fit in quite enough for my tastes, though that's not to say that this will be the case with FP's not-Dinobots as they do look much closer to the source materials than many of FP's past efforts. I just don't wanna risk that either (buying into their line only to discover halfway through that one or more of the remaining figures is a misfit). Of course the same could very well happen with TW, but given their track record so far, I just find it far less likely, and having seen protos of many (all?) of FP's not-Dinobots already, I can already see some pretty massive departures from what I perceive to be anything resembling the Dinobots as I know them, even in a 'Classics' sense.

They look great side by side, but this also shows the subtle differences in engineering that went into these and further convinces me FP is the route to go. It really shows in the chest, legs, and weapons.

Regardless, they both look really good and if FP didn't do these I most likely would have bit on ToyWorld.

Perfect Classics scale.

I kinda like the idea of the Dinobots being able to combine but being too stupid to realize.

These look pretty fantastic actually. They look more Classics than the FP versions though, but I still love the FP versions.

After a lot of thought and comparing iv'e decided i'm going with ToyWorld for my Dinobots .

This time round i actually prefer TW simpler chunky look , while i didn't like there Headmasters i think the aesthetic works great for the Dinobots .
