No ones saying you have to agree with everyone here, but you have no right to attack X like that.

DM is an expert in making generalizations. He thinks ALL transformers collectors enjoy complex puzzle solving because it is associated with "geek culture". Its like saying anybody who owns a classic/antique car loves working on engines. I dont think he gets that some collectors arent so hands on, and are more about the visual display aspect of collecting transformers. DM admits the only 3rd party transformers he owns are the fansproject Bruticus bots. Those were a walk in the park to transform. I think if he actually owned some of these newer 3rd party figures, he would change his tune. He would realize how much playability is lost to give every part some kind of bizzare use in every mode. Not saying I "play" with my toys, but I do enjoy changing up the displays sometimes. Thats what I get a sense of satisfaction from. Not from figuring out complex transformations. Spending hours to transform the damn things is a kill joy.

Nice generalization there, and with a hint of condescension to boot!

My whole beef with parts with nowhere to go in a lot of the modes is it's essentially cheating. I can sort of accept it with a figure based on an anime (like SoC Gunbuster) but Transformers has always been a toyline first which coincidentally had a cartoon to promote it (a poorly made cartoon at that). Therefore if a Transformer fails as a toy and a work of engineering it fails completely. Having large chunks of a mode be miscellaneous crap that doesn't do anything outside of that one mode is lazy and uninspired. I don't object to partsforming per se, providing the parts do something. CW handled the issue of the hands and feet fantastically, and so for that matter did the PE addons. Heck, the ancient FP Bruticus set did too- with all those parts, every single one found some use in every mode. The fact that it can be done well (and has been done well for that matter) strips any excuse from lazy manufacturers who can't be arsed taking the time to make the parts do stuff.

And frankly, X, your overall attitude combined with your constant bitching about how much you hate "puzzles" suggests you should have spent more time exercising your mind as a child rather than scaring off helicopters with plastic weapons. ;)

You know I support the concept of mass shifting so obviously a toy "cheating" doesnt bother me. I care more about how good it looks in its finished modes and less about what happens in between those modes.

By that logic you might as well just have a non-transformable combined mode with non-transformable models of the vehicle and robot modes of the component robots.

On all the personal stuff you keep spewing, I could say a lot of mean things...but I wont. Theres a lot more to my life than transformers and engaging on these forums. I knew how to have fun as a kid and I still do as an adult. Dont spend so much time exercising your mind that you let your body go to waste. Maybe thats why Verne Troyer always gets invited to the playboy mansion but Stephen Hawking never does... ;)

So now you're making fun of cerebral palsy. How very tasteful. >:oP

No not at all. Im merely pointing out that if Stephen Hawking didnt spend so much time exercising his mind, maybe he could have some fun. People with disabilities get invited to the Playboy mansion all the time and Verne Troyer is living proof. And Stephen Hawking doesnt have Cerebral Paulsy, he has a very rare disease. Maybe you should "Google it" before you type... ;)

And my logic on everything is K.I.S.S.

You cant go wrong with those throttlebots. Get em, you wont be disappointed. Cant speak on the combined form yet because Im enjoying them as individual bots in my re irth display. Eventually Ill combine them but wideload is like another FP Diesel. Word to the wise, dont try to untab the wheels. You will just pop the pins and the wheel will come off. Instead cheat and loosen the screw with a phillips to unpeg the wheel tabs. Easier and safer. I was lucky I was able to reattach the wheel with no damage done.

And yes youve inherited a full time job. Wait until Tsu decides to come back youre gonna get grey hairs ! :D

I'm already *slightly* invested. I've got Grind Rod and Aurora and love them to death. :x
For me its just a waiting game, cause my funds are low and I'm currently prioritizing my MP collection.

Is Orange-torso-tron really another FP Diesel? That's disheartening :-(

I got these guys last week and I'm loving them all to bits.

I think X may be overstating the fragileness of Wide Load. I was able to get his wheels to work once I figured out the knack of it. I used Peaugh's reviews on them all as guides to transform them. They all look amazing as a team.

I cant remember which review I watched to perform the transformation. It was either peaughs or skullfaces. But for me those wheel pegs were downright scary. I popped a wheel and had to use pliers (with cushion) to pop the pin back in. My good friend who bought throttler also had the same issue and warned me about it. Other than that the upper body transformation was just too damn fiddly. I figured it out by accident lol.

*Walks back into thread* Okay... :-(

Okay, my two cents on the combiner bits. I feel it was 'too much'. There was enough room in Wideload's front or back for the head, for instance. I dunno.

One thing I would've liked, an option to buy Goldbug and wideload without the combiner parts, for those who didn't want it.

Oh, no! He's complex, but nowhere near as bad. Even though I didn't find Diesel to be that bad, myself. ;) The instructions suck, admittedly. But after seeing that Peaugh video others have mentioned it was a lot easier.

Only transformed Sideload once so far, and didn't enjoy it, but will hopefully get those stupid panels figured out! Shinebug is great, right up there with Aurora. Highway isn't too bad, but can't believe TW didn't fix the damn mirrors...

Wasn't too happy with the combined mode at first, but really like it now. Gridlock for the win :D Ages ago I realised that Trace's gun could fill the thigh gap, and was pleased to see that Highway's gun can do that as well.

I'm not worried about TFC at all, I just REALLY want to complete him. And I think the painfully staggered release of these Throttlebots helps me, cause how many people are passing because of not having GrindRod? I know he's being reissued, but I've only seen Chimung offer it so far.

But this discussion has helped me make a decision: I'll get Goldbug first since out of everything I think he'll sell out first. Then I'll go for Preda-limbs, then finish Throttler. ;)^
