Well 5 deluxe cars and a voyager that turns into a Hummer is CHUG scale, right ? Especially when they have upsized KO's that are meant to scale with MP figures...

What ego ? I'm quite humble. I just hate over sized figures that are big for the sake of being big. You don't see over sized baby dolls that are twice the size of a real baby, do you ? Why are Transformers constantly being up-sized on the premises that bigger is better ?

True, but Im not really getting at that perspective. This is not the Unicron/Metroplex toy scale debate. I'm talking about characters that it is actually attainable to have in a cohesive scale. There is no real reason to make the toys bigger except for the sake of making them bigger. You really dont see that in the girls toy world. No "Leader Scale" Barbie dolls or "MP scale" Cabbage patch kids. They picked one scale and rolled with it from the 80's to this day. Everytime they make an upgrade that looks more lifelike, its still the same scale. But in Transformer world, toys just keep on getting bigger and bigger for nothing.

Bigger for the sake of bigger is something you keep trotting out like it's fact. It's not.

If that were the case, why not scale Masterpieces to MP01 Optimus Prime?

In fact, it's the opposite of what you say. MPs got smaller.

Youre right, MPs did get smaller. But my argument is that they never needed to be big in the first place. Just like I keep telling Tsu, Faith Leader proved toys of MP complexity can be made in CHUG scale. Some deluxe scale toys have just as complex transformations as any MP figure. Have you ever transformed first edition Vechicon ? I did, once ! Ill never put him back in car mode again. And then theres FP Motormaster. he makes MP Soundwave seem like a fast action battler. With that all being said, lets get back into the "size" aspect of MP scale toys. They dont need to be bigger to have complex transformations. They dont need to be bigger to be cartoon accurate. They dont need to be bigger to accommodate little kids with small fingers because theyre made for adults. So why are MP scale figures bigger than CHUG figures ? Unless you can think of a better reason, the only one we have so far is being big for the sake of being big.

;) Before you start celebrating, HasTak MP Star saber and MP Ultra Magnus bought back the Twelve inch toy scale. That MP-01 and MP-05 had.

I bought and played with Igear Faith Leader then got rid of it. Faith Leader proved you can't down size a complex toy like MP-01 without the need to simply, take away gimmicks and take away parts count on the toy.

Igear tried to down size MP-05 Megatron into a Eight inch Ultra Class toy. Igear reported it was impossible to do.

Nice. I don't know when I'll complete my team, but it'll deffinitely happen.

What I find odd though, is Chimung doing pre-orders for a Grind Rod reissue and yet no other retailer has given an inkling :-?

You got me with the giant barbie doll. I never knew that existed. But obviously it didnt do well enough for the that size to continue to present times. If I was a little girl I would feel kind of weird playing with a toy the size of a toddler but represented an adult. But thats just me.

On the cabbage patch kids, babies grow inches in weeks so the size differences you pointed out are nowhere within the level of difference between voyager and MP scale. In other words, they aren't twice the size in bulk.

You keep saying Faith Leader was a failure but the smaller size lured you into buying it rather than MP-o1. So how much of a failure could it have been ? It was a long time ago. Engineering and plastics are a lot better now than 2008. If a KO company wanted to downsize MP Soundwave or Starscream they could pull it off no problem. Look at FP Deisel. You own it right ? Dont tell me you dont consider it complex MP style engineering ? I do. it's way beyond the normal limites expected for a voyager scale figure. It's so complex, most of us have left Menasor combined and have never seen Motormaster again. Dont compare the cheap florescent colored downsized KO's on Sirtoys to what can be done if the market calls for it. Mark my words, somebody will downsize CW Devastator. And there's nothing left to simplify. If anything, theyll take all of collectors biggest complaints and use them to improve the mold. And the target audience will be CHUG collectors who care about scale, so I will buy it.

Please you need to do some online research before you say things.

The Three foot, My Size Barbie toy line is not canceled like you claimed it was. The line is still releasing newer Three feet tall my size barbie dolls.

The smallest cabbage patch dolls was under 14 inches long. Biggest one was over 20 inches long. going from 14 to 20 inches is like going up One or Two transformers toy size classes.

Bought both MP-01 and Igear faith leader.

X, you complain about people telling you to Google it. Tsu actually laid all the information out for you, so if you're not going to do the research yourself, and you're not willing to listen when someone feeds you the info... what's the point?

I did my research on foot. Ive dated girls with little daughters so Im no stranger to the girls toy aisles in walmart and Target. Ive never seen a 3 foot tall barbie in my life. Ill check TRU next time I go there just in case its a high priced item big stores dont carry. But if I dont find a Titan Class Barbie Im calling BS.

You have kids. You should know babies grow inches in weeks. But dont compare a 1 month old 14 inch baby to a voyager and a 3 month old 20 inch baby to an MP-10. Thats a bit of an extreme comparison. Unless of course youre bottle feeding him growth hormones enriched with steroids.

Not sure why you bought faith Leader if you had the MP-01. I assumed Faith Leader was for people who hated MP-O1's size. Obviously you liked the original because you bought it.

You been staying quiet on my question about FP Motormaster. Is it not as complex a transformation as any Takara MP figure ? I say it is. Im inclined to think most people would agree.

Does anyone know what scale these actually are? You know ... 1:18 ... 1:25 or whatever ... 'cause that's the only way to really determine if something is "in scale"

I only complain about the "google it" thing because it violates the basic principles of socialization. Its basically a smart ass comment for someone who wants to be on a discussion thread but is too lazy to do any actual discussion. One thing I gotta respect about Tsu is that he is not lazy...

As I told Tsu, Ive been in enough girls toys aisles and I have never seen a Titan Class barbie in my life. Something that size isn't hard to miss. If my lack of knowledge about obscure Barbie dolls makes me look stupid, than so be it. I'm willing to bet half of the people on here who google links to win arguments didn't know the stuff they googled either.

Those types of scales more typically associated with die cast vehicle collecting. Here is 1:18 vs. 1:24 scale:

While these may not have the engineering of a transformable robot, they flat out prove bigger doesn't always mean better. I believe the MP line could have been created in smaller CHUG scales without any simplifying. I truly believe the MP scale is big for nothing.

I accept your belief.
I disagree with your belief.
I don't need to justify my own belief as I accept your belief without justification.
Are you capable of accepting my belief?
