The ultimate comparisons pics.

Think TW Evila Star can still be consider a MP toy as it can blend in great with the MP seekers. As the MP seekers have a 8.4 inch robot height. So if you've got a shelf full of HasTak and Igear G1 MP Seekers. Think Evila Star will blend in nicely on that MP Seeker shelf.

Think Evila Star will also blend in nicely with UT Provider Octane who has a 8.26 inch robot mode. Thinking these both will scale nicely on a HasTak MP Seeker shelf

Btw, the drive wheels work brilliantly with just a little pressure applied to the top of the train.

These 2 pics have sold me on this guy, as long as they release him in show colors.

TW is pretty good about recolors, so I expect that will happen.

You're not the only person here who has expressed interest in TW making another run of this guy in toon accurate colors, but TW is not known for changing up colors on their releases. Orionvil (Nemesis Prime) is the only recolor they've ever issued.

Not to say that they couldn't issue a recolor, but look how long it took them to even make a new batch of Hegemon (and many are still waiting for another of Orion).

The Hegemon "reissue" was a recolor to the comic colors.

I guess I never noticed that, thanks. All I remember about it was that someone did a custom painted black helmet and that the reissue wouldn't come with everything the original did.

That's the pic that sells it for me. I like Astrotrain being a big guy, works for me. Always thought he should be around this height in comparison to Blitzwing and Megatron. Like many others, I will be throwing my money their way if they release him in cartoon colours.

I'm going with MP for TW Evila Star. As I think Evila's 8.5 inch robot mode will scale nicely with HasTak's 8.4 inch tall MP seekers toys.

I think it's hilarious how small Blitzwing is in comparison to everyone here. It helps that Hegemon's getting a height boost from his boots.

I like this Astrotrain, especially with the folded in chest wings. Besides the height being a turnoff (for me, personally), I wish the robot-mode head and wing configuration was more DX9-esque. Maybe a cartoon color scheme will sway me. :-?

People over on TFW were asking if it was possible to turn the feet around, thought I'd post the image and answer here as well.

When the feet are reversed they stick out to the side because the ankle connection is on the outer side of the foot and it looks derpy. Also, when turned around you can't use the red plastic panels that fold down to provide needed stability, so he falls over easily.

Image

I got him to stand on his own here, but it was a bit of a pain and he fell over at least three times while doing it.

You'll get Astrotrain and Octane soon at decent voyager heights, and I bet they will redo a more geewunny Blitzwing at some point.

:-? Haven't heard of any 3rd party Voyager class Octane toys. :???:

Unique toys Provider is Ultra class as it has a 8.3 inch tall robot mode. This will scale evenly next to HasTak's MP Seekers toys.

Image

At 8.5 inches tall in robot mode, ToyWorld Evila Star is a Ultra Class MP style toy. As it scales evenly next to HasTak's 8.4 inch tall MP seekers robot toys.

If your referring to this 3rd party voyager Astrotrain toy pic here. Many fans are guessing it got cancelled and the new company is gone. As their hasn't been any update in over a year. Usually when new 3rd party TF toys are teased by a brand new company that's making their first product. It has a high success rate of not getting made.
Image

Haven't heard of any 3rd party Voyager Class Blitzwing toys. Think that would be wasteful to create as fans already own a HasTak Voyager Class blitzwing toy. Think if fans are willing to spend the high bucks for 3rd party TF toys it has to be something HasTak hasn't done, Like a bigger size class.

The only 3rd party Blitzwing toy I've heard of and seen a pic of was a Ultra-Leader class toy from last year.

3rd parties are now interested in doing MP scale TF toys. As this is the in thing now.

Think it's pointless for 3rd parties to create CHUG scaled TF toys. As HasTak makes CHUG toys in over abundance at cheap USA retail price. The reason why 3rd party MP TF toys are so in demand right now, Is because HasTak makes fewer of them each year compared to CHUG toys each year.

If this picture represents ab 8.4 in Astrotrain I'm OK with how that looks and I'm happy to call that a voyager.

Image

If the proposed Octane, is about the same height, I will be in line for both.

If your point is that these guys are more of an ultra size than a voyager ... OK, sure, I'll concede the point. But they still look right with that lineup of Decepticons and I'd be down for a Blitzwing done in that size & style, too.

I think I would be more down with an Astrotrain done in Generations Blitzing's style (costs and all), but I do think were the opposite done, I would be compelled to buy.

with this in hand I would declare it a voyager, rather than MP

I would also call it a pain in the behind to transform

challenge ratings go from 1-5 in current parlance

now after I have had a chance to mess with him for a while, I may revise this, but tonight, he is a plastic migraine. looks great tho

:-B Most HasTak Voyager class TF toys are under Eight inches tall in robot mode.
Sure their might be a few anomalies floating around. But these toys are generally misproportioned stretched out skinny tall toys with no mass bulk. Like some Cheetor toys, Some Lockdown toys, MP-05 and the list goes on.

TW Evila Star has a 8.5 inch tall, Well proportioned robot mode with the mass bulk to be a Ultra class toy.

:-B TW Evila Star being a 8.5 inch robot mode is actually much bigger than the average HasTak Ultra class toy. As most are barely have a eight inch tall robot mode. I'd actually consider TW Evila Star a Ultra-Leader toy. As some leader toys from 2009 Animated like Leader Megatron have a 8.2 inch tall robot mode. Also some AOE and 30th Leader toys like Leader Grimlock and leader Jetfire have a 8.8 inch robot height.

Declarations of intended scale mean nothing now. There is enough photographic evidence for people to make their own decisions on whether this scales with their collection or not. Be it Masterpiece or Generations we can all see for ourselves. So if the bot fits buy it, if not then it's back to the waiting game.

Me, I think I'll stick to the waiting game for now.

so, A revelation and less of a headache- my evila star had an assembly error- the panels that the nosecone and feet depend on were swapped- so I could not get him to look right in shuttle mode, and the feet wanted to be backwards- it also affected his stability when standing. the key is that the nose cone should point slightly down in shuttle mode, not up. He's behaving much better now, and on my shelf in robot mode

Easy fix. There is enough give in the white piece that forms the roof of the shuttle that you can slip the pins out and swap them. Which has the added effect of making the purple sides close properly. Hope that helps anyone else who got the same error.
