When I read my comics, something I wonder what the characters would sound like if the comic was actually a G1 episode and how the comics would translate.

When ever I have tried, it really doesn't seem to fit at all.

I know some of you may be thinking "what the hell", but maybe an example will help...

In Soundwave spotlight, here are two of Soundwaves lines;

"Though I possess enough evidence to bury you all, should I wish, my preference is to put my not inconsiderable skills and resources at your disposal"

and

"What they propose is madness. The being that came close to destroying us all resurrected. Someone has to stop them. I must stop them"

Now, for the fun part. Do a soundwave voice, and read those lines.

Just doesn't seem right does it? I find that with alot of comic characters. In comic form it seems to suit, but when you think about their cartoon voice, and the comic, it just doesn't match up. Well, to me it doesn't..

Same with a lot of the spotlights, and with Megs Origin. Just doesn't seem to fit. I can't image a megs with G1 voice saying any of the lines in that series at all.

Some characters and comics, are spot on, and I can totally feel it, but others just seems to be completely different characters. When I think about megs origin that way, it almost doesn't seem like Transformers.

Don't get me wrong, I have loved every single one of IDW's transformers series (par HoS), but some characters seem to just sit apart from their roots.

Thoughts/Comments?

Same thoughts as always, really: every TF continuity is similar but different. They all come from the same basic concept (transforming robots, good vs evil, same character names, etc) but go in different directions with them. Kinda like Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: in different versions, some characters will so the same things for the same reasons, some will do the same things for different reasons, some will do different things for the same reasons and some will do different things for different reasons.
