She seems to be a little more calculating and level headed. I like her.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

To add to that, Devastator isn't particularly intelligent. That, combined () with his somewhat slow speed would allow the 3 to outsmart him using their speed and size as a tactical advantage, as well as possibly using strategies like having Windblade swooping in from above and having Arcee and Chromia attack his legs, in other words trying to confuse Devvy through multiple areas of attack.
Which is what TwinTwist, Springer, and Sandstorm (amongst others) tried bck in dw's war within comics. Before Devy put his foot down about that

I hate to be that guy, but that IS a different continuity, plus we don't know how these weapons might power up Arcee and the crew.

It wouldn't be the first Japanese exclusive to turn up in the IDW-verse.

Not this generation anyway.
This set will probably sell better than Devy. The price is reasonable, some of the new paintjobs (Arcee at least) appeal, and if the molds have been re-tooled to stand better and wield their heavy weapons, so much the better.

I'f you're thinking of Dethsaurus, that was at least a whole series. Grand Scourge here is a one-off redeco.

In the comics, the box insinuates it's devy.

I'm thinking of several. Victory Saber, Hellbat, Overlord...
But honestly? All I'm really saying is we have two black-redeco exclusives that both stole the same giant meat cleaver sword, one a Decepticon Combiner, one an Autobot Combiner Hunter. I know it's probably a coincidence, but it's fun to pretend otherwise.

I think they're hunting Devastator and they stumble upon Victorion in the process. It makes more sense than them hunting an Autobot combiner.

Yeah even though they are "Combiner Hunters", it still makes more sense if they are exclusively hunting Decepticon combiners, unless there is a good reason.

You'll be sorry!
I am thinking of getting Gen Chromia and Windblade, but I want this set too! I can't decide!
(I could get both but what's the point of getting two of the same mold, when I can use that shelf space for new figures?)Just on a side note, I wonder if Hasbro will repaint Arcee as a different character, as a mainline release figure? And hopefully with the fixed hands. It probably wouldn't happen though till Combiner Wars is over.

I think this IS our redeco. I can't see any other uses of this mold, though to be fair, nobody expected Elita One from RID Arcee so anything is possible. But right now, as you yourself observed, ANY potential main retail redeco/retool of Arcee would be after Combiner Wars ends, which we already know is running through 2016. So 2017 at the absolute earliest.

Pictorial Review - Transformer SDCC 2015 Combiner Hunters Chromia
Posted by Va'al Mon Jun 15, 2015 1:41 am
The first thing I noticed is the wicked light blue tribal tattoo/flame on the front and the side of the bike. A really nice touch but personally I would've prefered for them to extend towards the back.
The overall paint apps can be considered clean and some of them are metallic blue, something that Takara version of this figure should've had, just like their releases few years back. The translucent parts are dark red instead of clear (Hasbro Chromia) and light blue (Takara Chromia).
Being a direct repaint, there's nothing different in terms of the transformation and overall, the joints are solid and tight. In robot mode, this version of Chromia has more white and grey compared to the previous 2 variants. The placement of the colors are well-thought-of without any parts looking weird or out of place.

Silliness aside, some of the altmode deco is cool, but the only reason I'd buy the set is for that Arcee and Windblade....and a second gun to give to my Hasbro version. I love the character of Chromia, but the robot mode deco for Combiner Hunters Chromia is just.....weird.
