Spider-man 2 came out 2 years after the first film, not only that, but it was a hundred thousand million times better than the first film.

Remember, they're probably telling us very little at this point. Designs, scripts and screenplays are probably already underway and will probably be finished very soon. The would begin filming in the spring of 2008, break for the strike (which probably won't last too long) and continue filming in the summer/fall of '08. Post production would last into 2009 with the film ready for the end of June.

I hope it's a new TF movie every 2 years! Alright!

Or perhaps they have done a half or a third of the film right now? And they only need to add some scripts or minor changes?

Sadly, we don't have any clue about it until now.
It's just my speculation.

But, if they are really sure to release the film two years from now, they must have prepared everything very well.

Indeed, if TF2 is directly proportional in it's improvement over TF1 as Spider-man 2 was over Spider-man 1 it might atually be worth paying to see! lucky for the Spider-man crew they had a much better film as a starting point for improvment! Bay has a lot further to go IMHO.

Personally, I hope Transformers 2 improves on the original more than Spider-Man 2 did, because I hated Spider-Man 2. Kirsten Dunst and a few other things makes it nearly unwatchable for me.

Transformers and GI Joe are both HASBRO owned properties. They are not going to be stupid and present them even close to the same time during the summer. After all, they want GI Joe to do well too.

As for Tidal wave in it... I think not! We start going the Armada route and I officially quit!

now dont get me wrong. i LOVE the transformers. comics, cartoons, games and the movie. The point i'd like to make is-
I **** hate the new "movie" look for the transformers. I'm done lying to myself and if any of you are with me, let it be known. If i wanted insecticons i'd watch the g1 cartoon or read some comics. They all look like **** insects. optimus' face is retarded, as with all the transformers in the film. dude, when they make the next one, i'm sorry to say, but it might even be worse. i want new transformers tays damn it. and not from the movie. they dont even look good with all my 500 + collection. travesty. the truth is, and we're all a little blinded by the fact that they finally made a live action movie, the transformers look like ****. and dude, if any autobot was to die, why not **** ironhide??? yeah he was badass, but so was jazz. ah, i cant even watch the damn movie again. they all look like ****. **** you michael bay, go film a sequal to the rock. explosions are all you can do anyway. dick.

Yeah, I've never bough that bug-head argument. Most of them do have many facial features that are disctinctly human (Ironhide, Ratchet, Prime...), and the Decepticons have the more aggressive, evil look and look much more like menacing aliens (and hell, the most "human" looking out of all of them is Megatron)

Back on topic, I'm so surprised this thread is not getting the heavy traffic I would expect. The "rumour" thread is still getting posts despite the fact that THIS thread CONFIRMS the release date...

I know who Broadside is. I was referring to his "going the Armada route" comment. If you happen to notice my link the only other characters named Blackout among Transformers are from Armada (demolisher's minicon) & Energon( one of Bruticus Maximus's helicopter limbs)

In actual fact the Autobots are no better than Nazi herding these physical freaks into reservations and concentration camps and as a result the outcasts revolted and became the very monsters the they had always feared?

NAh.. I doubt the guys making this movie have thought nearly that hard about it. They just though good guys = human-like, bad guys = insect-like. Its a standard Hollywood way of identifying good from evil, even if it actually makes no sense in the context of what little story there is.
