God Danm! I actually like the new designs! Bulkhead has Kevin Micheal Richardson written all over  Prowl just looks sexy as a motorbike, Bumblebee looks decent and Ratchet is pretty cool.

Now bring on the cons!

Prime, Bumblebee/Hot Shot, Ratchet/Red Alert, Hound, and perhaps Prowl?

I wonder how many Decepticons there are going to be, and how many additional Bots and Cons will join the main cast (gotta sell toys after all)
The toys should be very interesting, more Classics style than anything else.
Its being written by the guy that was the head writer for TMNT, so the story at least should be of very high quality.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

I....like it....I don't like fire truck Prime (although to be fair I hated any Prime that was a fire truck) but....and I can't believe I am saying this...but it looks....promising....

I still would have preferred an animated series based in the movie-verse, but based on it's own merits I think it looks fresh if nothing else.

At least it's wearing it's kiddie nature on it's sleeve; there's no doubting this is for kids, and that it has a slightly 'lighter' tone. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Hasbro has to market to the kids to keep the franchise alive, longterm.

Hm, looking at the designs. Anyone else see repaints and remolds coming from this?

Prime - Cybertron Prime

Bumblebee - Clocker

Edit: Also, why does Bulkhead have tank treads for his feet when his vehicle mode has no tank treads?

Ewww. While some of the redesigning could have worked, the allover style is too distorted for my taste. OP is the worst, which makes me sad.

I'm getting numb to it all now. The movie's bots look like garbage, so does this cartoon. Sometimes the way must be lost before it is found again.

After the initial gen 1 line up of ex diaclone and microman toys (which are classic toys for sure) gen 1 went a bit trippy with some weirdo looking toys, they did have character though and this is what we could well have here, i have never enjoyed the CGI shows, somehting turns me off CGI images (epitomised by that hideous polar express, eek). To my mind this looks like a lot of fun, i think fans need to take their toy hobby with a pinch of salt, the toys could be fantastic, im pushing 40 (an old git even in TF world) and find these a breath of fresh air.

Fans seem to be expecting perfection at ever step, theres always something you will like and dislike in each line, I have the toys i like from the post G1 line (theres not that many!) but i have classics, BW, cybertron, energon, 1 universe toy even, oh but no armada! The movie toys arent that bad, many have come to accept them, a bit dull but if you stand say jazz next to gen 1 beauties like prowl/jazz, it doesnt look that bad, examples of truly awful toys can be seen in the fuzors for example. Nope, i have some faith (thats what its called in the absence of evidence right?) in this new line, hopefully i'll be proved right when the first toy images start appearing. I want fun, characterful toys to break away from the serious core movie toys.

The animation dosen't look too eye-appealing. Here's hoping they make up for it in the story-writing department.

As for the characters themselves:

Optimus: I would ask why a fire truck again...but I already know the answer. Neil Kaplan (RID Prime's voice) has explained it several times. People worry about what they do in their down time, & assume that instead of sitting in their base monitoring for D-con activity & only using their alt modes for recon work, they're out pretending to be the vehicles they are disguised as...doing the same jobs those vehicles do. So you're either going to have Prime fighting fires & protecting civillians as a fire truck, or hauling produce to the grocery store as an 18-wheeler.

Bumblebee: As "cute" as he may be, my worst fears are coming true....movie designs are leaking out of the movies. Next we're going to see chicken-leg monkeyscream & shrapnel-attack megatron. ugh.

Prowl: ?? why does every series anymore with action have to have ninjas? I mean, yes, they're cool....but they're also meant to be trained assassins...not good guys that are just thin & black with swords & ninja stars & such.

Ratchet: fairly G1....nice. Since they're giving him the ambulance look back now maybe they'll go back to making my boy Red an emergency sports car instead of a ratchet/robocop hybrid.

Bulkhead: I'm assuming this is meant to be Hound, only Archer has a thing about putting the name "Autobot" in front of the names of stuff they can't get copyrights too...unless they just really need to such as with the movie. I think it's like insetad of think of it as a title, he imagines transformers walking up to each other & saying, "Hey Autobot Hound." "Hey Autobot Tracks, how's it going? Hey, did you hear about Autobot Ratchet? He had a run-in with Autobot Trailbreaker, & now they're both mad at each other."

Rediculous, I know....but still that's probably why his name's Bulkhead instead of Hound.

Also, I have a feeling the guy that did the voice for the big dog on 2 Stupid dogs (can't think of his name off the top of my head) will be doing his voice. If not, he looks like he's going to have a similar voice.

Bulkhead: I want the toilet seat......

edit: BTW, it's not all that uncommon to see regular cars & such with emergency lights. My in-laws are volunteer fire-fighters & both have red lights in thier vehicles in case they need to do any emergency first-responding. I assume this would be similar.

I'm not hating it. While I'm not totally in love with the heavily-abstracted designs when applied to Transformers, as I've said before I have a feeling that it'll work fine once it's animated. This version of Prime looks a lot more practical than the Samurai Jack Prime that we saw in the other promo, and looks like he could actually transform without too much animation cheating (and let's face it, you don't hear much complaint about the cheating in the G1 cartoons).
The idea of using their downtime to blend in with the humans sounds a lot like what they did in RiD, which, as the blurb says, should allow for some interesting situations.

By the look of it, this should be kiddy, but hopefully not too kiddy for adults to enjoy. There's a lot of cartoons that are aimed at kids, but perfectly suited to adults too (look at Billy and Mandy, or Foster's), so I see no reason why this couldn't be targeted in a similar manner.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out.

Heh heh. Well, fandom is unofficially bisected on this one, versus the 95% loathing vs. 5% cautious optimism of the early Optimus pic.

I like it a lot. I'd rather see Arcee as a bike over Prowl, Rachet is a bit too G1 for my tastes, and I was hoping the Optiferno rumors were off, but Bulkhead looks promising and Bumblebee is sweet. The best thing about that shot is I can imagine Transformer action in that style now. No R.I.D. "I'm gonna shoot you now...yeah, now! Seriously, just as soon as I get done pronouncing my super-mega awesome power beam's vaguely martial artsy name! Now!"

There better be more than bloody 5 Autobots. Look at what happened on the last series you had sweet bugger all Autobots, etc, on. Armada. Terrible. Honestly, I can't be the only one who wants a series like G1, with an arseload of characters.
