Kotobukiya has revealed on Twitter the fifth figure to hit the Transformers Bishoujo line and it's none other than Starscream! And this one seems to be hitting all the right notes with fans. Her short black hair is braided around the sides to imitate the side vents, red eyes and a tan to represent the dark face of the original cartoon design, red vest and skirt with a gray shirt and yellow striped neck tie to hit all the right body colors, blue gloves and heels with white knee-highs to finish the look off. And not only are the wings represented as a tote bag, but it's slung over her shoulder to get them in the proper position. Judging from the the reactions on Twitter even non fans of the line and non-Transformers fans in general are being won over by that devious smirk of hers. The figure was designed by Shunya Yamashita with more details coming soon. Now just imagine this figure in black and blue.

In other news we have a follow up on Nemesis Prime. She was made available this past weekend at Anime Expo 2023 in California and Kotobukiya says she'll also be available at future events outside Japan that they attend such as SDCC. There's a rumor that she'll also be made available online at some point but they haven't been verified. Nemesis features a new face sculpt and replaces Prime's briefcase with her signature red sword along with a Decepticon base.

Nemesis Prime is nice, but I still don't like the overall concept.

But that Starscream... woah!

I'm looking forward for the 3D pictures! And she may be the first one that I will buy, despite her no doubt 200$CAN price tag.

Nemesis might have looked better with the briefcase, the sword does nothing for it. I'll be skipping it.

Starscream backpack on the artwork with the faction symbols as a key chain/tag doesn't work for me either but will wait to see the statue. The white cuffed gloves look off too, might have been better for being blue. Plus a collar Carmen sanDiego style might have fitted the look better.

Just prime, megs and bee are definite purchases so far.

For some reasons, I didn't noticed the switch. But that sword looks like a cheapo accessory.

Still, if she would have flipped the bird instead of just pointing up like the normal version, that would have been an instant buy.

Yup as much as I like cthru plastics. Maybe they could have given her the g2 tanker trailer as a back pack or bizarre scabbard some how - if they are willing to blur scourge/nemesis as much as hasbro does. Not sure if they could do the swearing hands though.

I like the fact that because Starscream is a darkish-grey, they made her tan. Plus the wings-bag is a clever touch.

You know, this works better than either of the other two released figures. The pockets on the jacket, the tie, everything just....WORKS. I won't get it, but it looks surprisingly good.

It's certainly better than the other two which for some reason are being planned to have full body suits under their clothes...

I don't mind the full bodysuits, but having the exact same pose and with the exact same face is very, very disappointing. Yeah, repaints are a thing in Transformers, but it way less frustrating in toys than in anime figures.

Toys are generally posable so you can give you crew of repaints different attitudes. But with unmoving statues, it looks like a Chinese emperor's tomb starter pack.

They do have different faces. Skywarp has an open mouth and Thundercracker has a close one while Starscream has the smirk.

That's the bare, bare minimum. It's the exact same pose that I just can't tolerate. Sure, I'm asking for the Moon by demanding ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SCULPS, but how cool would have it been if you could have a trio doing "the Charlie's Angels" or something, with bases that connect with each others? I would have bought all 3 if they did.



I may still get Starscream, but I will definitely skip the other two.

How about a big fat NOPE?

Even with the almost 40$CAN of shipping, the ¥14,081 price is much more palatable. Too bad the import fees are high. Regardless of that, the overall price is still way cheaper than A3&U at ¥21,359 or around 198$CAN total, shipped and taxed.

I finally got Megatron because I found her at a good price.

She's magnificent and fit well in my Megs display.
