Really have to wonder why this one expired and Soundwave didn't when they were released at the same time. I wonder if maybe there were no exclusivity limits at all, it just expired, but with the new Bee movie coming Hasbro was able to negotiate new usage (even though Bumblebee isn't a Beetle they'll certainly be releasing some Beetle Bees at toy time anyway I think).

We have known the contents of this pack for some time, but only gotten leaked images of 3 of the 4 figures. But now, we have the full set. The set is comprised of Ransack from Legacy Kickback, Skywasp from Kingdom Waspinator, toy colored Scorponok from Kingdom Scorponok, and the main attraction: a proper Goldbug using the exclusive VW beetle alt mode!
We do not yet know when the set will be going up on Target, But if you follow the above link, In Demand Toys already has the figure ready to go for those in the UK!
Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

I'm wondering if we all just misinterpreted the original explanation and it isn't the mold that Walmart has the rights to but the exact figure/release. The Legacy SW was always going to be a repack, it's entirely possible that their deal was less "we can only use this mold for Walmart exclusives until blank months from now" and more "we can't take the exact same figure we just made as a Walmart exclusive, slap it in a new box, and ship it to every retail chain". Unless the Target and Walmart execs are up on G1 canon, they have no explicit reason to assume Goldbug is Bumblebee and not a different character because he has a different name (sometimes he is a different character even), so in this instance they took a mold tooling that originally released as a Walmart exclusive but repainted it and retooled it into a different character and gave it to a different store, which we've seen done before (Kingdom Sideswipe vs Red Alert, Kingdom Terrorsaur vs BB Toy Terrorsaur), instead of what doing a Netflix Soundwave rerelease in Legacy would have been.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:Tuned Agent wrote:I guess Walmart's exclusivity on the VW molding finally expired. Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Sounds like a bunch if nonsense

They're flat colors, no swirly or sparkly stuff that messes things up to speak of.
I missed out on the first set, but truthfully, only Blackarachnia and Nemesis Primal interested me. This set I'm going all in.

The comic solicitations also show the Netflix mold being used for SG Soundwave, so we'll likely have another data point for this whole thing next month anyway.
Wouldn't that have been a more incorrect mold choice for SG Goldbug though? He was a sports car, he was never a Beetle.Emerje wrote:If that is the case then the two things that stick out to me is we got the wrong mold for SG Goldbug and I would have MUCH rather have seen G1 Soundblaster in wave 2 of Legacy over Siege Soundwave with clean (read: fewer) paint apps.

In the comics he was. Though I get that these are based on the cartoon.Nemesis Primal wrote: Wouldn't that have been a more incorrect mold choice for SG Goldbug though? He was a sports car, he was never a Beetle.
SG Goldbug, not G1.Rodimus Prime wrote:In the comics he was. Though I get that these are based on the cartoon.Nemesis Primal wrote: Wouldn't that have been a more incorrect mold choice for SG Goldbug though? He was a sports car, he was never a Beetle.
